Chapter 1050: A Woman?
Cao i lived in an old residential cluster that was more than 30 years old. There was only a security guard dozing off in the security booth at the entrance. The surveillance cara had been broken for an unknown period of ti. It hung above the entrance, covered in dust.
Cao i walked deeper into the cluster in her high heels. Faint streetlamps glowed on both sides of the road.
The sound of high heels echoed in the quiet neighborhood. Cao i was talking on the phone to her friend when she suddenly heard a ow from ahead.
Cao i’s eyes lit up. She smiled and called out, “Kitty?”
“ow, ow.” The cat wed delicately.
“Kitty, co over here. I have delicious food.” Cao i liked cats and dogs very much. She always carried so treats on her. She smiled as she ventured toward one of the more remote buildings in the cluster.
“ow, ow, ow.” The cat sounded like it was inside the building.
The light at the entrance of the building was not lit. It appeared to be broken.
Not wanting to alarm the kitten, Cao i scattered a handful of cat food near the entrance of the building and waited quietly for the kitten to appear.
As expected, a snow-white kitten walked out of the unit and lowered its head to eat the cat food.
Cao i looked at the kitten in glee and reached out to stroke its head.
The kitten was very obedient. It let Cao i stroke its head as it continued to eat happily.
Cao i had been exhausted from work, but she now felt completely refreshed. She smiled and continued to stroke the kitten. Suddenly, she heard a faint noise coming from the building.
“Kitty?” Cao i thought that there were more stray cats. She smiled and said, “Kitty, don’t be afraid. Co out and eat.”
Just as Cao i finished speaking, a man’s palm suddenly reached out from the dark entrance and grabbed her wrist tightly.
Cao i’s heart skipped a beat as she scread, “Ah—!”
The man had very sharp nails, different from normal humans. They looked more like cat claws. The sharp claws pierced into Cao i’s flesh and injected her with a special poison.
Cao i collapsed weakly. She was still conscious, but she couldn’t move.
The man released her arm and dragged her into the darkness.

Cao i couldn’t see the man clearly. Her clothes were torn, and the man’s saliva dripped onto her chest.
At this mont, the lights in one of the rooms on the fourth floor of the opposite building suddenly lit up. Imdiately after, the window was pushed open and a man stood by the window, smoking.
Cao i stared pleadingly at the middle-aged man. He seed to be able to feel her burning gaze and looked down.
Cao i had been dragged into the building, but her head was still exposed outside the dark entrance. She continued to stare at the man pleadingly.
“A woman…?” The middle-aged man looked at Cao i in confusion. He couldn’t understand why a woman was lying at the dark entrance of the building.
At this mont, a clear tearing noise could be heard.
Cao i’s body trembled as if in spasms. The sound of her body being forcefully ripped apart echoed through the air. Blood splattered onto Cao i’s face and the ground.
The man was shocked. He stared blankly at Cao i as her eyes rolled back. She looked like she was on the brink of death.
