"He got spatiotemporally displaced from the future by an enemy he had ssed around with too much. That person borrowed a god’s Authority to do so."

Miranda was about to reply to Jamie’s words once more when a sudden shout echoed across the quiet restaurant.

"You never listen! It’s always about you and your needs!"

"Oh, please. Don’t pretend you’re innocent in all of this. You’ve beco so controlling!"

The couple’s gaze turned to the corner, where another couple angrily exchanged words, slicing through the restaurant’s tranquil atmosphere.

A waiter discreetly approached, nervously trying to diffuse the situation but they were too absorbed in their bitter exchange, their relationship unravelling before the eyes of others present.

As Miranda looked at them, she noticed a paper on the table, underneath a ring that looked eerily similar to that of the ring on the man’s hand.

"They getting a divorce or sothing?"

Jamie voiced out the conclusion she had co to, and she nodded before turning her attention back to her breakfast.

"They’ve only been together for a few decades and they’re already tired of each other? I can’t understand."

Considering that Miranda and Jamie had been together for tens of thousands of years without having any argunts that led to either of them considering ’breaking up’, it was only natural that she could not understand how a couple that’s only been together for a much shorter ti was already considering that.

It wasn’t like they didn’t have their own share of quarrels. Heck, sotis they even fought physically because of so differences they had, much to the dismay of their subordinates, but it never led to any talks of ’ending things’.

For a mont, her gaze turned back to the couple and her purple iris glowed with a faint light. However, that light dimd when Jamie’s palm suddenly hovered in front of her face, his other hand holding up a sandwich to her mouth.

"I noticed it with that couple in tin, but you seem to have fallen into the habit of snooping into people’s records again."

Miranda bit on the sandwich, turning her gaze back to Jamie whilst replying.

"I jush wanshed to shee why..."

"Eat before talking."

The man spoke as he picked up his own sandwich and held it to his mouth, using a bit of sound magic to block out the arguing couple’s voices from reaching him and Miranda.

The two delved into their al without a care for the couple getting physical at the edge of the restaurant, successfully finishing the half of the nu that had been ordered within half an hour, much to the waiter’s shock.

Imdiately after, soone walked up to them and dropped a paper on the table, before turning around and leaving.

They didn’t even need a glance to tell the person was under a compulsion. As for the paper he had dropped, it was a ssage from Miranda’s subordinate in the Liberation Front who wanted to update her on the details of their eting this morning.

After paying the bill and leaving, they teleported over to the coordinates he had given them and found out about the planned attack for another Continent on the planet, which was under the control of Ikerth’s forces; Oyend.

When she heard all the details, Miranda placed a hand on her chin and delved into her thoughts for a few minutes, before deciding that they’d go over to Oyend as well.

"The Lieutenant on Oyend. He’s usually not always in their main outpost so it’d be easy for their surprise attack to work.

But anyway, there’s sothing I need to get from that guy."

The Lieutenant in question was one of the First-Grade threats according to the Liberation Army’s classifications, which ant the dragon was a Transcendent Realm existence—at least the avatar here on Zotov was.

"Brambus? Was there soone like him among Ikerth’s clan before? Oh well, I don’t care. Not like I’d be dealing with him."

Jamie shrugged his shoulders and spoke, deciding to leave the Transcendent Realm opponents to Miranda. Or rather, he had no choice but to as the current him could not deal with transcendents.

Besides, he did not deny he was looking forward to seeing Miranda in combat again, for a totally different set of reasons than the ones her subordinate had.

’Miranda likes fighting with strange weapons, and the reactions of her opponents are always a sight for sore eyes.’

The man could not hold back the chuckle that threatened to escape his lips when he thought about the reactions of her opponents.

January 18th

Year 2018

"Sir, we’ve confird it. The First-Grade threat (FGT), Lieutenant Brambus is currently not in the Bastille."

All those who heard the words of the ssenger simultaneously sighed with relief as the news they had just received was one that increased the chances of success of their operation.

"That’s good to know."

The man standing at the head of the table, First Class Combatant and a Senior Commander of the Liberation Front, Anda, spoke with a flat voice that dispersed the small celebratory mood that filled the air.

"Just because Brambus is not present, does not an he would not eventually be. There’s no way he would not notice sothing wrong with his outpost, so we have to act fast."

He turned towards the other man standing beside him, a Second-Class Combatant and continued.

"Trisgella, you know your job: to engage Brambus’ second in command who’s currently in charge of the Bastille.

Navarre, you are to support..."

He went over everyone’s positions again from the start, taking more ti to remind those responsible for preventing information of the attack from leaking out just how very important their role was.

"The Fusevale Bastille is the largest Outpost of the Dragons on Oyend, and their main outpost as well, but it’s not the only one.

Though we have other Corps attacking the other Dragon outposts, there’s still the outposts of the other otherworlders to think about."

It had been stated before that Ikerth’s forces on Zotov did not consist of only dragons. He had other races among his soldiers, and he had also incorporated the forces of the other Race Kings, from Estea and other planets who wanted to have a share in the Ruindeum Mining on Zotov.

There were Elves, Dwarves, Giants and so other races.

This was also one of the reasons for the ’trust issues’ that arose during the ti it took the Liberation Front to co to be. It was quite hard for them to tell which Elf was Zotovian and which one was Estean at a glance, after all.

But for races like Giants and rmaids who had distinct characteristics and originally did not exist on Zotov, that problem was non-existent.

Anyway, the operation the Liberation Front was carrying out was targeting mainly the Dragons, as they wanted to cripple their rule on Oyend as fast as possible.

The goal was to wipe out every last one of the tens of thousands of dragons in the Fusevale Bastille, whilst also making sure not even a single dragon escaped from Fusevale to spread the news.

It was common sense that if an Outpost commander was away during an attack, the second in command would send soone to inform the commander or try and contact him.

The Liberation Front had prepared to cripple all Magi-technology communications except a few secured channels, so the Dragons would have no choice but to physically send soone over to Brambus.

To stop this, there was an entire Military Division dedicated to creating a net around them and preventing even the tiniest dragon from slipping through.

Anti-teleportation asures were also taken, and the Teleport Waypoints built within the Fusevale bastille were to be destroyed by their insider n the instant that the attack comnced.

As for the First-Class Commander, his job was to oversee everything and not lift a finger until Brambus arrived, as he was the one ant to deal with the Lieutenant and the other Semi-First Grades.

Both he and the other three First-Class Commanders who were in concealnt.

The Liberation Front pulled out four of their strongest powerhouses, showing just how serious their intent to retake the Fusevale Bastille was.

Though it is unknown if they’d get that chance, considering Miranda has her target set on Brambus as well.

Now then, onto the main questions.

Why would the Liberation Front who were losing 7-1 dare to pull off such an attack, using most of their Corps; each of which consisted of 2-5 Divisions? (sowhere around 20,000 to 40,000) soldiers.

Why was their main focus on the Dragons?

Why would they carry out such an operation now?

And most importantly, what was their source of confidence that such an attack would succeed?

Three of those questions could be answered with one word: ’Equipnt’.

Equipnt possessing ’Anti’ attributes, made with tals that amplified the effects of these ’Anti’ attributes.

The Equipnt in question were Anti-Dragon attributed.
