"GRAARGHH!!"

The ogre howled in pain but retaliated by manipulating the swamp beneath it. The ground beneath Jamie turned to quicksand, trying to pull him in and drown him in the contaminated magic, but all Jamie had to do was simply engage his spatial flight and he was off the ground.

The ogre then swung its massive arm, and a tidal wave of miasma-infused water crashed towards Jamie. In response, Jamie drew his featureless blade and swung it forward, splitting space to create a rift that absorbed the wave.

He then sent it crashing back into the ogre, sending it off its feet.

Seizing the opportunity, Jamie clenched his fists and concentrated his blood into its hands, teleporting directly in front of the ogre’s face and pumlling it with both fists.

"Blood Spike: Burst."

The blood exploded outwards in a violent burst, creating crimson spikes that tore through the ogre’s flesh and bones.

The ogre reeled back, its movents sluggish as it tried to regenerate using the contaminated magic, but Jamie didn’t give it the opportunity.

The man held up both hands, concentrating his magic power and conjuring two void spheres above each palm. Each sphere pulsed with an eerie, azure glow, distorting the air around them and drawing in the surrounding energy.

"Void."

With a swift motion, he sent the spheres hurtling towards the ogre. As they moved, the spheres grew larger, their gravitational pull intensifying and destroying space itself.

The ogre roared, attempting to counter with a wave of contaminated magic, but it was too slow as the void spheres reached the creature quickly, one striking its left arm and the other its right.

[Be Crushed.]

Jamie’s command as he slamd his palms together and the spheres began to be drawn to one another. Naturally, the ogre which was between them began to be crushed.

The creature’s roars turned into gurgling screams as its body was compressed and stretched by the void spheres. Flesh, bone, and corrupted magic were torn apart, unable to withstand the crushing force.

With a final, deafening boom, the void spheres collided fully, collapsing into a single point before vanishing, taking the ogre with them, leaving a splatter of blackened blood and fragnts of the ogre’s remains which quickly disintegrated into the air.

Just as he finished that one off, Jamie heaved a soft sigh and turned around to survey the rest of the battlefield, watching as Miranda ripped out the heart of one of the monsters with her flaming hands.

He teleported behind her and reached out to her wolf ears, but they disappeared before his fingers could touch them.

"But I wanted to touch them..."

"..."

Miranda gave Jamie the side eye and the man silently lowered his hands. She shook her head and began walking towards the car where Tiris was, disabling the barrier of flas she had around it while Jamie was approached by so of the rcenaries.

"Yo! Where’d that big Ogre go?"

Given they were focused on their own battles against the Level 800 monsters, they hadn’t had ti to pay attention to Jamie’s battle and didn’t see him crush the monster within two void spheres.

"The afterlife. Where else would it go?"

Jamie replied with a raised brow, and the rcs who were montarily dumbfounded by his reply burst into laughter.

The man just gave them a strange look and turned around, heading to where Miranda and Tiris were.

As Miranda’s back was facing him, she could not see it, but Tiris who turned her gaze in his direction noticed first.

"Sir Ja-

**SHUKK!!

"-mie!!!!"

The sound of her words wasn’t fast enough.

A sword of silver coated in divinity pierced through Jamie’s chest from behind, and the other three rcs behind him drew their silver blades and stabbed Jamie from behind as well.

Instantly, Jamie dropped down to his knees and collapsed without a word, prompting them to let out a cry of victory.

"Got him!"

But the Leader who stabbed Jamie first narrowed his eyes and shook his head.

"He’s not dead! Use the Light Magic!"

He ordered his companions, and the mage who was with the Argeryan guards responded. She kicked away the guards and leapt into the air, conjuring a Six-Ringed Magic circle with a short chant and pointed it at Jamie.

"Light Magic: Astral Smi-! **BOOMMM!!!

Her words were never completed as a fist encased in violet flas crashed into her lower jaw, the force of the uppercut obliterating her head and upper body in an instant.

The impact was so devastating that her head was vaporized, leaving only a mangled lower torso and cracked vertebrae, which dropped to the ground with a sickening thud.

The sheer power of the strike created shockwaves that rippled out omnidirectionally. The clouds in the sky were parted, creating a clear, circular opening above the battlefield.

The shockwaves travelled thousands of ters, their destructive energy tearing apart dozens of monsters innocently flying high above.

On the ground, the earth shattered and buckled under the imnse pressure.

Cracks spider-webbed out from the point of impact, sending chunks of rock and soil flying in all directions. The force was so intense that everyone in the vicinity was thrown off their feet, sent sprawling to the ground by the violent tremors.

"Fuck!"

One of the rcenaries cursed, just in ti to see Miranda’s furious eyes lock onto him. Her fist closing in on his face was the last thing he saw before her full-powered punch blew his head clean off his shoulders.

Again, the blast waves from her punch sent the guards, rcenaries, and monster corpses tumbling and skidding across the shattered terrain helplessly.

However, these combatants were all Transcendents.

They were quick to recover and the rcenary Leader who attacked Jamie drew a different blade, his aura flaring to reveal his Level 1000 status as he charged at Miranda.

His full-powered slash thundered down on Miranda but the woman’s pupils followed the lightning-fast blade, her left hand reaching out to catch it.

She unhesitatingly balled up her right fist and threw it forward, ready to punch the living daylights out of him when a sudden pain in her left hand made her flinch montarily.

Though it lasted only a second, in a battle against a foe with hypersonic speed, a second might as well be an eternity.

A beam of pressurized icy energy blasted into her body from the side, knocking her away and freezing her hair and the wolf fur on her arms.

Her flas were quelled by the powerful ice, revealing the choice of the elent to be a strategic one aid at dealing with her flas.

Still, Miranda was resilient.

As icy spears flew at her from all directions, she released a spherical wave of flas, lting the ice on her body and destroying all the icy spears in steam explosions that had the side effect of obscuring her vision.

’Not good!’

"HAATT!!"

Miranda released a sharp cry, creating a sonic blast that blew away the steam in an instant and revealed a shadow-like figure darting towards her from behind.

She turned around and her claws reached out, grabbing the arm they used to thrust a blade at her and bending their elbow bone in the opposite direction.

Just as she was about to send that one to the afterlife, soone teleported behind her and stabbed her in the back with a two-handed blade.

Her clothes were torn through with ease and the blade pierced the right side of her chest.

"Gurk!!"

Miranda felt blood run up her throat and she coughed, spitting out not crimson, but black liquid.

Looking down at the blade, she saw her red blood quickly turning black as it mixed in with a certain bluish-purple liquid coating the blade piercing through her.

At that mont, Miranda figured out what this was.

"wolfsbane...!"

Her body lost all strength and she staggered, barely using her elbow to knock the side of the head of the one who stabbed her before dropping to her knees and vomiting black blood.

Mixed in with the wolfsbane were all sorts of fast-acting poisons which were able to bypass her natural resistances since the wolfsbane had weakened her.

She tried to raise her hand but an arrow shot forward and pierced into the back of her palm, destroying the spell circle she had half-conjured.

"We got her!"

The rcs shouted out and dashed over to her location with weapons drawn, intending to deal the finishing blow when a powerful voice bood out of nowhere.

|STOP!!!|

"?!"

"Gak."

The powerful True Voice of a deity was enough to disorient the mortals present, forcing so to their knees while the Superior Stage Transcendents rely winced uncomfortably.

Nevertheless, the intended effect of stopping them from killing Miranda was achieved.

In her blurry vision, Miranda raised her gaze and saw that she and Jamie weren’t the only ones attacked.

Half of the rcenaries that were hired turned and attacked the remaining half, as well as the Argeryan family guards.

There were already casualties amongst the Argeryan guards who also had traitors amongst themselves, with the fallen ones being caught unawares.

They had struck right after a fight had just ended and their guards were lowered.

Although the Argeryan family had a Half-Deity with a Deity Level of 50 shadowing the convoy, with orders to only intervene if all hope was lost, they were unable to take action now as they had been ambushed by another Half-Deity from an Argeryan Family enemy.

From the skies, the figure of a man in robes descended to the ground, emanating powerful divinity from his being. However, his divinity was different from that of Tiris and the Priests.

This alone was enough to show that this man dressed in Priestly robes was from a Rival Faith, one that didn’t want the Sky goddess’ Church gaining a new Saintess.

Even that alone wasn’t enough information about his identity. Tiris instinctively sensed it the mont she looked at him.

The Divine factors within her told her, that this man descending from above, was a god! A genuine mber of the god race!
