**BOOOMMM!!!!

The rooftop erupted in a blaze of purple flas, which quickly spread and latched onto all the attackers.

Miranda, nocked several purple fla arrows on her bow and released them instantaneously, sending them streaking through the air like burning cots, with each one finding its mark.

The assailants attempted to dodge, twisting and diving behind cover, but Miranda’s control over her flas was absolute.

She remotely detonated the arrows, causing explosions of fire to engulf those who thought they had escaped. Others found that the arrows, seemingly missing, curved mid-air and hod in on their targets with unerring accuracy.

So tried to roll away, so tried fighting back with projectiles of their own, so tried using defensive skills and shields—all didn’t matter as her arrows pursued them relentlessly, curved around their projectiles and broke through defences, obliterating them in bursts of purple flas.

Within monts, half of the attackers lay charred and lifeless, their bodies reduced to ash by the ferocity of her flas.

"...she hates the title that much?"

Tiris couldn’t help but ask as she saw multiple Level 800 existences being burned in seconds and Jamie just laughed and replied.

"Yes, though it’s actually her fault that the na stuck."

Miranda had a little habit of screaming ’Inferno’ when she was blowing things up during their first six months on Gnocyl Pri.

Given that her flas were purple coloured, people took to calling her ’Purple Inferno’ and when they found out that she had a skill called ’Violet Inferno’, they started calling her that.

"But don’t say it’s her fault near her unless you wanna get burned."

"I CAN HEAR YOU!"

Miranda’s loud voice reached Jamie, prompting him to raise his gaze and et an annoyed Miranda glaring at him.

Before Miranda could go over to where he was, the squad leader attacking them charged from her blind spot, barking orders to his team.

"She’s a ranged fighter! Get in close!"

Drawing his sword, he coated it in pressurized water and dashed towards her, swinging the blade down at hypersonic speed.

In the split second before his sword reached Miranda, she vanished, leaving the man’s blade to cut through empty air. The sword struck the ground, slicing through the building and the next few dozen city blocks in two clean halves.

But he cared not for the destruction and frantically looked around, trying to find Miranda’s figure.

"Over here, dumbass."

"?!"

**BAAAMM!!!

A sudden impact on his jaw forced his teeth to bite off his tongue and his brain to rattle in his skull. Before the force sent him flying, another blow struck the side of his head, burning through his skin, shattering his skull, and blasting his head into bits that splattered on the floor.

The others stared in stunned disbelief at the death of a Level 920 existence as his lifeless corpse fell, revealing Miranda holding a sledgehamr conjured from purple flas.

"Who was it that said sothing about being a ranged fighter?"

"Mira, you killed him."

"Huh? Oh..."

Jamie’s reply deflated her annoyance. She glanced at the corpse at her feet, shrugged, and transford the hamr into a pickaxe.

"Ti to finish off the rest, then."

"Fuck, Run!"

Seeing as Miranda killed a Transcendent in two hits, the others weren’t dumb enough to stick around any longer, but Miranda had other plans.

With a swift swing, the fiery weapon cleaved through the first attacker, who barely had ti to register the approaching death before being engulfed in the searing flas.

The next two attackers fared no better; one was impaled by a rapidly ford spear of violet fire, while the other tried to flee only to be struck down by a whip of flas that wrapped around him and incinerated him from the inside out.

Just as she was about to turn her attention to the remaining assailants, Jamie abruptly teleported beside her.

"Ti to go, Mira."

Before she could protest, Jamie’s spatial power enveloped them both, warping them across the city in an instant.

The chaotic battlefield vanished, replaced by the serene and quiet interior of Tiris’ hotel room. Tiris looked up, startled by their sudden appearance, as Miranda’s fiery weapons dissipated into the air.

"Could have given a warning."

Miranda muttered while shaking off the disorientation of the sudden teleportation. In response, Jamie released his hold on her and glanced around with his eyes glowing as he spoke.

"Sorry, but we needed to get out of there. Kauron’s security officers were heading towards there. It’d be a hassle to deal with them so it’s best we let it go."

Jamie confird that there were no hostiles within the hotel, before turning to Tiris and her friends as he continued.

"Looks like you guys are gonna have to say goodbye earlier than planned."

"..."

The young won clearly wanted to spend more ti together, but they understood that it was impossible given the fact that Tiris’ life was at risk.

There were many factions that wanted Tiris dead; from enemies of her Argeryan Family who didn’t want them having the prestige that ca with a Saintess in their family line, or people from rival religions who didn’t like the Sky goddess’ faith growing any more powerful.

So were those who believed that the Saintesses purifying the miasma wells was a bad idea as they were interfering with the ’natural order’.

Jamie didn’t know which one sent these attackers just now, but whichever they were, he doubted this squad was going to be the end of it.

’These ones were probably an advance squad ant to hold us down long enough for the real force to get here.

It makes no sense for them to send just 1 Transcendent against us.’

The weakest in Tiris’ guard detail was Level 930, so to Jamie, anyone sending just 1 Transcendent to try and kill her was just courting death.

As these thoughts ran through his mind, Tiris reluctantly bid her friends farewell, her frustration evident as she swore at the people who wanted her dead. If not for her status as a Saintess Candidate, she might have considered learning Curse magic to retaliate against those targeting her.

The Vroln Region where their final destination lay was situated just after Krovale. However, they had to traverse through Krovale, and then the wildlands in between the two Regions which were filled with monsters and other dangers.

Only after that would they arrive at Vroln.

As Vroln was under the Sky goddess Faith’s control, it was going to be much harder for any assailants to make moves there so Jamie anticipated that they would face the brunt of the attacks once they left Krovale and entered the wild lands.

’The issue is the path through Krovale...’

The route that ran through Krovale was a bit of a hassle in Jamie’s opinion. They needed to pass through cities with three major cities, each with its own set of hiccups.

One had local enforcers who were notorious for their unnecessary suspicion of outsiders, and passing around the city would make their journey longer as it ant going through a monster nest.

The second was large and had labyrinthine streets, and the third which was the one right before the wildlands was a hotbed of political intrigue and rival factions, any of whom could be potential threats.

The Wildlands themselves were filled with dense forests, with dangerous monsters lurking within them—perfect spots for miasma swamps to spawn in droves.

Sure, there were roads that cut through the wildlands that were occasionally maintained, they were not guarded since they were ’Wildlands’ and did not belong to any region.

The wild lands were ho to rogue mages, bandits, and other unsavoury characters who preyed on travellers, and so they had to be on guard against these ones too and not just Tiris’ potential assassins.

As such, their group had to be on constant guard, ready to fend off attacks from both natural and man-made threats.
