"Did you say he might be your nephew?" Illerion asked as her finger rested against her temple.
"Real smoothe, Nergal. Why did I even ask you to tell the story?"
"Hey, don’t be a brat..."
"The truth about , is that I am either one of Ishtar’s creations, or her son. In case any of you don’t know, Ishtar was killed by Margo a thousand years ago.
Before that happened however, Mobius sent spiralling through ti, well and my twin sister. We were thrown a thousand years into the future, but then a certain mysterious individual asked his siblings to intervene."
"..."
Carl received only silence in return, then Illerion burst into laughter. "You expect to believe you’re the child of Ishtar? Really? Surely you’d be stronger and definitely not human."
"I actually really appreciate that, I hate the idea of being those two’s kid, I’m happy with my adoptive mums and my letting that stay in the past. My sister wants to know and I’ll help her figure things out, but I don’t care myself, those two were self-centred morons, doing what they thought was best and making the decisions for everyone."
"He could be telling the truth... I do rember when Mobius was first consud by the system, he destroyed all his relics and then said sothing about disposing of a child. Then he disappeared and we never saw him again."
"I don’t get it, why weren’t you consud with him, like Dracula’s kin were with him?" Carl asked, looking back at Grenda as if to apologise.
"Well, we aren’t under his control, Lord Mobius is our patron, but he is not a ten star of the sa species. As a result he held no sway over us when he changed."
"Right, I get it. Can I ask what exactly you wanted when you ca here?"
"I ca to take back Lord Mobius’ territory, it’s rightfully-"
"No one’s. This realm was rightfully, No one’s. It has sat abandoned for almost as long as we can rember, even if Mobius had the right to own territory in anyone’s eyes still, I’d rather die than watch him take it from anyone." Illerion growled.
"Illerion, can I ask why you seem to hate him so much? Sorry, I really don’t know much about this stuff, Gilgash and the variants restrict a lot of information." Carl was desperate to learn where such hostility was coming from.
"Mobius massacred a great number of tiless ones, I don’t see his current state as much of an excuse. I will see that old man dead before I’m gone at the very least. I should thank you, naless thing that continues to not introduce yourself, I’d grown lazy in my hunt."
"Illerion, hush." The voice was Nergal’s, but people barely had ti to recognise that before they were blown away by an explosive release of aura, everyone except the one who had provoked her. "Realax, I just an we all know exactly where he is, but we need you to leave him be for now."
"Kin-slayer, you don’t get to tell what to do. So of us care about the ones we’ve lost, besides, I find myself quite fond of Carl and if there is a chance you two are related I should kill you to protect him, no?"
Nergal laughed. "Stop your posturing, I couldn’t kill them if I wanted to."
Illerion squinted, uncertain what he could an as he was absolutely more powerful than Carl. "Have you beco an idiot? You could kill him in an instant."
"True, but his son would send to one in half the ti."
"His son?"
"Tiamutael, wanna have a look at Daddy’s new friend?"
Suddenly Illerion felt the full weight of Tiamutael pressing down on her, but unlike others, she seed to find it endearing. "Aww, he’s adorable! Feels like a dragon though, did he father him with Tiamat? Either way, it’s very impressive that the little guy can see through this barrier."
"He is not a love child, he is a god that Carl produced using several animals, beasts and monsters, a piece of a human variant’s soul, an angel’s legacy, Tiamat’s omni-fla and Bahamut’s essence as well. A whole heap of divinity, but I think that goes without saying."
"Sha, if she had been able to seduce him, it would certainly be possible for ..." Illerion giggled and apologised when she felt Tiamutael get grumpy, then turned back to Nergal. "...Fine, explain what you an by I can’t act."
The others had decided to stay back to avoid being dragged into their battle, but Carl was more concerned about how it even happened and started examining the contract.
"The contract is fine, it’s because she didn’t attack anyone, that was just an emotional outburst." Kyubi said as she patted away the black sand that had soiled her kimono.
"Right, guess I can’t underestimate an emotional immortal..." Carl sighed before he noticed Nergal gesturing them back.
They were a bit confused to hear Illerion cooing over Tiamutael, but Klaire and Kyubi were happy to gush over their baby.
"While they’re talking, why don’t we finally rectify the lack of introduction."
"My na is Crolock, one of the Cronolurges,"
"Right, nice to et you. You should know, when I’ve slapped Mobius for throwing my sister through ti, I don’t really care about what happens to him after. If he lives, I’ll give back any lands he owned, you should be more focused on figuring out how to make ands for his sins."
Crolock looked at Carl with suspicion, which he didn’t mind, just walked off and started repairing the shelter that Illerion had destroyed.
"Apologies, Carl. I fear my outburst was most disorderly."
"h, I’m used to explosive energy. What I’m not used to is all of this, so can you guys give a handicap?..." Carl looked at the others yet to introduce themselves and they looked at each other before nodding. "...Great, introductions, reasons for coming and then we either sign so treaties or you disappear."
One of the others sighed and then walked over to and around Carl.
A large man with bright, multi-coloured hair and piercing eyes that reminded Carl of a bird of prey’s.
"I am Inferno, king of the phoenix. I sense soone claiming our ex-ally’s territory, which we had left as a mausoleum honoring him and decided to co and make my opinion clear."
"So, do then. I’m not gonna argue that tampering with ntos of the dead is wrong. I just want to use sothing associated with him to help people relax, when I put an end to this nonsense, I don’t want it to be followed by a bloody war of vengeance."
"Is that so kind of adorable little warning?"
"What? No, I said I don’t want it followed by a bloody war, you can kill whoever you want until I’m done..." Illerion laughed.
"I wouldn’t laugh, another of his kids has already done the impossible." Nergal added, making Klaire and Kyubi wonder which instance he was occuring to,
"Which ti? Not to brag, but they do that a lot."
"He ans when Levi attacked Margo, it was the first ti anyone’s been able to bring themself to. I guess she got her stubborn streak for on that one, considering I charged into his realm and tried putting an end to it then and there."
Everyone suddenly gasped and Klaire coughed. "Don’t let him fool you, he only managed to tell him the ga sucked and then got thrown through a portal and wound up half dead. He did manage to give us space to live unobserved though, so he didn’t exactly ss up."
"Yeah, but then I made us all a daughter who made my efforts redundant. Sorry Inferno, we get distracted easily. We good?"
Inferno laughed, then just nodded and Carl gestured the next and before long they had all been introduced and left except for Illerion and Nergal.
"Why are you lingering you two?" Carl asked with disinterest.
"Don’t be an, I just want to get to know you all better."
"Then co to our wedding like a good friend and leave us to enjoy our break, we have things to talk about that I’d rather not have an audience. You can just leave Nergal, you couldn’t even tell a damn story." Kyubi said as she basically shooed them out of the realm.
When they were gone, she let out a deep sigh and then faced the others.
"Where too next, don’t think we should stay here for too long, especially the whole deaging thing. We might not be directly in it, but all the light might have that that effect."
Kyubi just nodded, then took a deep breath. "I ssed up bringing everyone here, let’s go back to my sanctuary and replan."
"Oooo, sounds great! I didn’t get to visit when Carl kidnapped you and I wanted to see what it was like."
