It was bright and early in the morning.

Evelyn turned, grabbing the two cups of coffee from the kitchen counter.

She approached Zayne who was as usual seated in the small dining, browsing through his laptop.

"Here you go," she said.

He paused and lifted his head to her face before lowering his gaze to the cup. His eyes narrowed.

"No, thank you."

"What do you an, ’no, thank you?" She peered at him obstinately.

"I recall the last ti you gave coffee." His smile was dry. "I was almost poisoned by salt."

She grinned at him, rolling her eyes. "Oh please, is this about the salt incident? You don’t actually think I did sothing to this one, do you? When I know you’re on guard and wouldn’t fall for it again? I’m not stupid. If I wanted to handle you again, I’d do it when you least expect it."

"Handle ?" Zayne didn’t seem convinced. "Baby girl, keep your coffee to yourself, I don’t want it."

He went back to what he was doing, but that only lasted until Evelyn suddenly slapped the back of the laptop, shutting it close. She snatched him by the collar of his shirt, her smile murderous.

"Look here, Sweet cheeks, I don’t know what gave you the impression that I just stood there for minutes making coffee For. You! And you think you can just say no?"

She leaned in until her breath could kiss his face.

"You better drink it, or you’re going to wake up tomorrow to every single one of your ties nipped."

Zayne stared at her in deep thought and abruptly arched a brow. "Are you threatening ?"

Her smile stretched. "I don’t know. You tell ."

"If I taste it and there is even an ounce of salt in it, you’ll regret it."

"Go on and have a taste, first." She shoved the cup in his face.

He was reluctant, but he took the cup from her, taking a sip. The flavor spread across his tongue, and he paused, the ring around his iris, dilating a bit.

Evelyn sat next to him, both palms, propping her chin. "How does it taste?"

Zayne raised a single brow, shrugging. "Fine, I suppose."

"Is that you being petty? Because I know my coffee tastes good. Real nice, Zayne."

He rattled his chair across the floor, giving her distance. Evelyn, however, shifted after him. That made him pinch the bridge of his nose, drawing a deep breath to soothe his nerves.

"Now, what do you want from ?" he asked, tone clipped. "I’ve taken the coffee."

"I have an idea..." A long pause. "...I think you would like to hear."

"What?"

"What if I told you that I know how I can get Preston to withdraw the hit he has on ?"

Zayne averted his gaze to her. "You do?"

"Yes."

"Which is?"

She smirked. "Now, now, you’re going to have to sit and watch."

He narrowed his eyes, his forehead wrinkling into a frown. "You weren’t going to tell what this idea was, yet you filled in that you had one? What is wrong with you?"

"What?"

She snorted.

"I just wanted you to stay expecting. Building up the suspense, you know?"

"You..." Zayne rubbed his temple in stress and abruptly scooted his chair back roughly, getting up.

Evelyn blinked. "Oh co back. Where are you goi—"

"Don’t you even think about following !" He flashed her a glare. "Stay away from !"

"Alright." She slurped her coffee, watching him go.

The very second the door was slamd shut, she sprung to her feet and took out her phone from her pocket.

She dialed a number.

[Evy?]

"Hi, Amber." Her smile stretched as she responded to her best friend on the other side of the phone.

[Why haven’t you called ? It’s been almost a week now. I’ve been so freaking worried about you!]

"I’m fine, I’m fine. Relax."

[Is everything okay? You’re calling and you seem to have a reason]

"Yeah, everything is fine," Evelyn said, approaching the window. "But there is sothing I want you to do for ."

She stared long and hard at the window and flinched back suddenly at the chills that rattled all over her skin.

A bullet could just waltz over again, and this ti around, she might not be lucky enough to dodge it.

[Okay...? What is it]

"You’re a lawyer right?"

[Yes, Evelyn. I’m your best friend]

"Alright, alright." She chuckled. "But listen. Rember the last ti you and I spoke on the phone, I told you sothing about my siblings possibly assassinating ?"

Amber gasped on the other side of the phone. [Oh goodness. Please, don’t tell ...]

"Yes... Preston has a hit on . I’ve almost lost my life twice now in a single week."

[What?] Amber chuckled. [Wait, you’re joking, right?]

"No. Does it sound like I am?"

[Y-you’re serious? You’re really serious]

"Yes, Amber and I need your help."

[Wait, wait, wait, Evelyn, why aren’t you in Korea already? Why aren’t you back here? W-what are you still doing there? And why haven’t you given the cooperation away?]

"I can’t do that," Evelyn rubbed her temple. "Amber, you need to calm down. I know you’re worried for , but I’m okay, I promise you. And no, I can’t co back to Korea, not yet."

[Why? Y-you know your life is in danger, why aren’t you evacuating that place? Common, TDG isn’t worth more than your life!]

"I know that, but I promise you that I’ll be fine. And I’ll be even more better if you can help ."

[Help you?]

"Yes."

[How?]

"Can you make it here to Italy tomorrow?"

[Huh?]

Evelyn bit at her polished finger. "I’ll pay for your flight. And I’ll make it comfortable. First class."

[I know you will, but that isn’t the problem. If anything, I am confused. Why do you need to be in Italy as early as tomorrow? A night flight?]

"Well..." She exhaled awkwardly. "Tell this. How fast can I have a will processed through the court?"

[A-a will? Evelyn, what are you talking about? You don’t...you don’t think you’re about to die, do you? That’s not funny. Don’t joke with like that!]

"Relax, I’m not dying." Her lips stretched into a smile. "But how fast do you think I can get it processed? Is three days possible?"

[Uh...not that much? It’s pretty hard. Rare even. But, I think I can handle that]

"Then please, fly to Italy tomorrow, Amber. I need the legal docunt in three days."
