Kelly’s POV
While watching Snow eating ice cream with Ana, I’m standing on the balcony while talking to Pierce on the phone. He called to ask if I’m okay and he told that he was almost harrassed by the dia while jogging early in the morning.
“How about Phoebe? The issue might affect her too.”
[Dad hired so bodyguards for her. She’s fine. I’m more worried about Snow. She won’t have the freedom to go out and roam around freely anymore.]
I took a deep breath and held onto the railing. “Yeah. I’m worried about her too.”
A deafening silence reigns us. I don’t know why I’m just standing there while listening to his breathing. Perhaps because the circumstances are pushing us away from each other. There’s Klay and then this issue. I can just end this by telling the truth to the public, but I don’t owe them the truth. This is my personal life. I have the right to keep this privately. I want my family to be private.

After talking to Pierce, I called Attorney Lee again. I requested for mom’s siblings to just co to the city since Attorney Lee said they’re in the province, residing in the family’s ancestral house. Attorney said he’ll talk to them and possibly, if they agreed, they’d be here next week.
I used my ti working from ho so I can personally look after my daughter. I’m only going to the company whenever I have an important eting. Pierce told he won’t visit for a while but he’s calling everyday to ask about us.
When it was ti for and my mom’s siblings to et, I personally went to the hotel where they checked in. Attorney Lee called when he got there and I ca last.
My heart raced as I entered the hotel room. I saw four people inside. The two won looked very sophisticated and the two n looked very strict. They’re already waiting for my arrival and how the two won scoffed didn’t escape from my eyes.
“Kelly, you’re just in ti.”
The man wearing eyeglasses laughed sarcastically. “Just in ti? She’s late, Attorney. She’s not the only one busy here.
I took a deep breath and slightly bowed my hair. “I’m sorry for being late.”
“Why don’t you apologize for making us co here too? You think so highly of yourself.” The woman in a red dress said, rolling her eyes.
My lips parted. They’re rude! I suddenly want to growl at them for treating like this but I want to respect them for my mom.
I bowed my head again but I didn’t apologize. I pressed my lips together and creased my forehead.
“Sit down, Kelly. Mr. and Mrs. Foster, and Mr. and Mrs. Carter, this is Miss Kelly Monroe. Eva Foster’s daughter.”
“Are you sure she’s Eva’s biological daughter?”
I gritted my teeth, losing my patience as I t the man’s eyes. “I’m sure as hell that I am her biological daughter. I have all the docunts that would prove it.”
“Tss!”
I looked at Attorney Lee. “Attorney, what are the properties that will be given to ?”
“What a shaless bitch!”
I looked at the woman in black dress. Her neck and face is red and now I have proven that these people are greedy for power and wealth. Unfortunately for them, my mother was the legal heiress.
“Mrs. Carter, it is clearly stated in the last will and testant that Eva Foster or her child has the right—”
“Clearly, Attorney, she’s only after the inheritance. After she gets everything, she will abandon the family and my mother’s legacy.”
“That is not under my scope of service anymore, Mrs. Carter. My work is to make sure that the inheritance will fall under the na of the heiress.”
“We are Eva’s siblings, Attorney. Isn’t it our right to take care of the company and my mother’s legacy since Eva’s dead? Why does it have to be that brat?”
Attorney Lee didn’t answer. I clenched my jaws and looked at my aunts and uncles. This is absurd! I am actually expecting a warm welco from them since I’m the child of their lost sibling but it seems they didn’t even care that my mom was kidnapped when she was so young. I’m very disappointed that I expected a lot from them but in the end, I will be the one who would suffer. I thought they’d welco with a warm hug but I was wrong. So wrong.
The man wearing eyeglasses lifted from his seat. He stared down at and from how he looks at , I feel like he’s belittling .
“You are too young to handle the company. What can you do for an empire? If you didn’t know, Foster Empire is harder to handle than you expected.”
I pulled myself up and t his sharp eyes. “I’m currently the CEO of my father’s company.”
He laughed sarcastically. “The company that almost sank because you got pregnant early just like your mother?”
“What do you know about my mother? You didn’t know her.”
“We know the story, Kelly Monroe. I know the story. You got pregnant, that’s why your father got sick, right?”
“That’s not true! You didn’t know the story, sir.”
He smirked. “I saw the news a week ago. It seems like you have a very ssy and unstable personal life. Are you sure you can still handle the company given that you also have a kid that needs your attention? I suggest you focus on your child. She might get abducted too.”
I balled my fists as my eyes sharpened. This is what he wants? To provoke . To insult and make give up. Now I know why their own mother didn’t trust them. They are greedy.
I proudly lifted my chin as I spoke. “I want to take over the company, Attorney. Please contact if I need to do sothing or whatever. Next week, I want the Foster Empire under my leadership.”
I turned my back on them and started walking away while I could hear them calling with so much anger. I ca here to peacefully talk to them but if they’re gonna insult and my family just like that...I won’t let it slide. I didn’t co this far to let just anyone step on my shadow. I will never back down. If they’re greedy, then I’ll be more greedy.
