"Thank you, darling husband," Martha said with a smile before looking at Sawyer. "My handso Sawyer, tell Grandma, do you have a girlfriend now? Is that why we rarely see you? Are you busy with her?"

Sawyer nearly choked at Grandma’s words. He thought she would support him, but she had joined forces with his grandfather and father. He silently took a deep sigh!

"Darling wife, that’s impossible; our Sawyer has a new girlfriend. We know he’s still waiting for his childhood sweetheart. What was her na again?" Nathaniel asked, his eyes gleaming with the opportunity to bring this up with Sawyer.

"Oh, that wonderful woman. I think her na is Serena, Father..." Walter replied happily. Finally, their plan was coming together. His joy was reflected in his gaze as he looked at Sawyer.

"Aah, yes, yes, Serena..." Nathaniel clasped his hands together and smiled widely as he continued, "I hear she is still single, just like our Sawyer."

"Yes, Serena doesn’t have a boyfriend, even though many n pursue her. She only has our Sawyer in her heart." Martha gently tapped Sawyer’s hand. "You are so lucky, my dear Sawyer; Serena still loves you."

Sawyer felt his blood boiling, aware of their conversation’s direction. How could they bring that woman into the discussion now? He couldn’t let their imaginations run wild. He needed to stop them.

However, before Sawyer could say anything, Walter added fuel to the fire. "I hear she is returning to the country. I don’t know if she will return for good or if it’s just a holiday from her busy schedule as an international movie star."

"Oh, my goodness? Seriously, Serena’s return? I’m so happy to hear that! Niel, we should invite her to dinner with us." Martha’s eyes sparkled as she turned to Sawyer. "My dear Sawyer, why don’t you tell Grandma about Serena’s return?"

Sawyer’s hands clenched into tight fists. As much as he wanted to avoid this conversation, he had already fallen into their trap. His gaze toward his grandma was no longer gentle; it was mixed with a whirlwind of emotions.

"My darling wife, don’t worry. I already talked to Old Philips. He promised to co with his granddaughter, Serena, and join us for dinner tomorrow," Nathaniel excitedly explained to Martha. He also asked her to host a grand dinner to celebrate Serena’s return after many years spent pursuing her career abroad.

Martha shared Nathaniel’s joy and happiness. She felt so happy about Serena’s return. She hoped Serena would continue her relationship with her grandson again.

Nathaniel observed Sawyer, curious to see how he would react to their arranged plan: an opportunity for him to et Serena again and potentially restart their failed relationship.

After a few seconds, Nathaniel was taken aback by Sawyer’s calm deanor; his grandson wasn’t displaying the usual emotions he typically showed when discussing such matters. This made him more confident that his efforts to encourage Sawyer to marry before his brother and sister would be successful.

’It seems... that Sawyer wouldn’t mind if Serena joined us for dinner this ti. Or did he already et with Serena and know about the dinner arrangent?’ Nathaniel wondered curiously.

"Of course, my darling husband, I will prepare an unforgettable dinner for Serena and Old Philips. I will serve them our best local food," Martha responded excitedly.

A mont later, she turned to her grandson. "Sawyer, you don’t have to go ho tonight. You can sleep here with us so you don’t have to tire yourself to drive..."

Sawyer was at a loss for words upon hearing their plan for him. Earlier, before arriving, he had already intended to spend the night with his grandparents. Still, their abrupt discussion made him cancel his plan.

When Nathaniel saw his grandson remained silent, he added, "Your grandmother is right, Sawyer. You can stay here, so you don’t have to spend ti on the road to get here tomorrow, right?"

A small smile appeared at the corner of Sawyer’s lips as he glanced at each of them. He took his ti to respond, which added tension to the mont.

When Sawyer’s gaze fell on his grandfather, he smiled faintly and said, "You can have dinner with them without , Grandpa."

Instantly, silence filled the room, and everyone looked at Sawyer in surprise.

Sawyer didn’t feel the need to explain further. If they were trying to force him into a marriage with that woman, he wouldn’t allow it. What had happened between him and her was in the past; he had never imagined her as part of his future plans.

After a long pause, Martha finally broke the silence. "Oh dear Sawyer, this is your chance to win her back. Why did you refuse to et her? I thought you both still loved each other; that’s why you never had a relationship..."

"Grandma, please, can we stop talking about her? I have nothing to do with her anymore, and eting her would only make things awkward," Sawyer replied calmly despite suppressing his anger. He didn’t want to express his annoyance to her.

Martha tried to convince Sawyer again, but when she noticed the firmness in his gaze, she could sense nothing would shake this man’s determination, at least for now. All she could do was speak no more and sigh as she turned to her husband. She silently asked him, through her gaze, to say sothing to their grandson.

"Sawyer, how can you avoid them? I already invited his grandpa to bring Serena..." Nathaniel said, feeling worried. He had thought his plan was working, believing that Sawyer would be happy to have dinner with Philips and Serena. Still, it had turned out he was mistaken.

Sawyer said nothing, but his gaze clearly showed he had fixed his mind.

"Can you at least consider joining us? It would be rude if you didn’t show, right?" Nathaniel asked again.

"Yes, dear Sawyer, please do join us. And you don’t have to say anything to Serena if you don’t want to. Just show up and smile at her," Martha added.

Still, Sawyer did not react or say anything, and Walter was visibly impatient with his younger son’s stubbornness.

"This is your chance, Sawyer. She is single, and you are single, too. She’s old enough to get married now, and I’m sure her career is stable enough that she’s ready to settle down. If you propose to her this ti, I think she will certainly accept it," Walter said.
