Abigail is entirely shocked. His earnest voice and expression cause her heart to race again. The "thump, thump" sounds in her heart grow loud and fast while her mind is blurred and even blank.

"Sawyer, that’s a sacred word for a woman. You can’t say it jokingly like that..."

Abigail tried to warn him calmly, but her trembling voice betrayed her, reflecting her nervousness after hearing him no longer ask her to be his girlfriend but rather to marry him instead.

’Why did he suddenly have such an idea? Didn’t he promise to wait until I was ready!?’ She felt helpless now—Sawyer had completely confused her mind.

"I’m not joking when I say those words. They co from my heart, Abby."

Abigail struggled to respond and could not express what was on her mind. Her eyes darted as she gazed into his.

"To be honest with you, I never imagined I could fall in love with anyone so quickly. I’ve even believed you are the right woman I want to spend the rest of my life with."

Abigail lowered her head to avoid Sawyer’s gaze, worried that what she was about to say might hurt him.

"Sawyer, you broke your promise," she whispered, though Sawyer could still hear her.

Instantly, Sawyer’s face tensed. ’Damn it! Have I ruined everything again? Now she’s angry with ?’

His hands gripped the steering wheel tightly as he stared blankly at the road ahead, filled with regret for asking her to marry him so suddenly without considering her feelings.

"I’m sorry. I don’t understand why I can’t help myself when it cos to you, Abby. I’m truly sorry if I disappointed you..." he said softly.

Sawyer could only wait for Abigail’s decision—would she run away from him or agree to stay by his side?

Before long,

He finally saw her lift her head to look at him. A relieved smile spread across his face when he closely observed her expression; he saw no disappointnt or anger.

’Thank God, Abby doesn’t seem mad at ,’ Sawyer thought, feeling grateful. However, he was still nervous about what she was about to say.

"I’m not disappointed in you. I understand your feelings and can see how genuinely you proposed to ." Abigail paused, smiling at him, when she saw that his expression was no longer filled with worry.

"But Sawyer, I can’t give you an answer today or at any certain ti. Please, be a little more patient, okay?"

"Abby, I promised you I would be more patient," he answered her right away with a smile.

"Alright, let’s go now. I’m starting to feel hungry."

"Okay, okay..." Sawyer smiled widely, happy with how mature she was handling this awkward situation. He imdiately exited the car to open the gate leading to his property.

Abigail was stunned; she hadn’t realized they had already arrived. It had only taken them fifteen minutes to reach the cabin.

...

The car moved again.

Abigail didn’t want the car’s atmosphere to beco awkward and cold, so she tried to start a light conversation with him.

"Sawyer, I promised to visit Grandma in two weeks. I want to see her health progress."

Hearing that, an idea popped into Sawyer’s mind. He quickly glanced at her and said, "I hope you don’t mind if I et her."

Abigail felt her heart race. She was already contemplating his confession and how serious he was about asking her to beco his wife.

However,

Allowing him to et Grandma would an a significant leap in their relationship, suggesting she was ready to embrace being his partner.

’Oh gosh, Abby... you’re indirectly telling him about your feelings, huh!?’

Abigail silently shook her head and put aside the worry in her mind. But later, she felt her face warm when she imagined her Grandma calling Sawyer her grandson-in-law the first ti they t.

"You’re still unwilling to allow to et your Grandma?" Sawyer’s disappointed tone surprised her.

Abigail realized she didn’t have a reason to refuse him. "Sure, you can et her..."

"Thank you, Abby," Sawyer replied, unable to hide his broad smile. He felt confident that he only needed two weeks to help her heal from that bastard. And she will beco his woman!

Abigail rushed to the kitchen to prepare lunch as soon as they arrived at the cabin.

anwhile, Sawyer worked to warm the cabin by lighting the fire on the stove.

Once he finished, he asked, "Do you need my help?"

Sawyer stood near the kitchen and saw her cutting at.

Abigail paused, looked at him, and nodded. "Can you wash the veggies? I will make us a quick, simple salad."

"Sure," Sawyer replied, gladly accepting her request. He fit himself in the small kitchen, careful not to disrupt her movents as she prepared other dishes.

After cutting the at into cubes, Abigail set it aside and peeled a large potato for frying.

Her movents were quick, and within minutes, the preparation was complete and ready for cooking.

Turning to Sawyer, Abigail smiled, seeing he had finished washing the vegetables.

"I’ll make the salad; just let know what dressing to use," he offered.

Abigail nodded and told him what he needed to do. Sawyer skillfully followed her instructions without any issues, and she was impressed by his efficiency.

As they worked in the small kitchen, their arms occasionally brushed against each other when she needed to pass by. Each contact made her heart race, but she tried hard to remain calm and focused on finishing their late lunch.

She concentrated on the at she was grilling and the frying seasoned potatoes.

However, as Abigail grew more comfortable cooking alongside him, Sawyer’s comnt almost caused her to trip over her feet.

"Abby, do you know? I feel like we’re husband and wife cooking together like this..." he said casually, showing her the perfectly prepared salad and placing it in a large ceramic bowl.

Abigail was left speechless.

She kept her mouth shut, knowing that their conversation would likely return to the topic of marriage if she said sothing.

’Gosh! Should I just accept him now!? It seems this man will not stop proposing to ...’
