When Rosa noticed Abigail standing by the office door, she was surprised.

"Hi, Abigail. You finally ca. Have you t your Grandma?" Rosa asked as she walked over to Abigail.

"Aunty, I just arrived, and I need to talk to you about sothing before eting Grandma," Abigail replied.

Notice how intense Abigail’s expression was. Rosa nodded slightly. "Alright, let’s talk outside in the backyard."

Rosa couldn’t talk with Abigail in her office because she shared the space with another nurse.

They walked side by side toward the back of the hospital, heading to the backyard.

"I’m sorry for taking up your work hours, Auntie."

Abigail feels guilty for interrupting Rosa’s work hours for her personal matters.

"It’s fine," Rosa smiled as she settled onto the wooden bench in the garden, urging Abigail to sit beside her. "Tell , what makes you look so worried, dear?"

Abigail quickly tells Rosa about her Grandma’s dical bill. She was honest with her, explaining that neither she, her father, nor Ryland had paid the hospital expenses.

Rosa was shocked to hear about it. She couldn’t help but interrupt Abigail.

"Wait, wait, Abigail... Are you saying that soone paid your Grandma’s dical bill without you knowing?" Rosa asked.

"Yes, Aunty. I plan to pay the bill once my Grandma is discharged," Abigail explained, though she didn’t tell the truth about her lack of funds. "That’s why I was confused when I wanted to pay; you ntioned the bill was already paid."

Rosa thought briefly before asking again, "So, you an to say soone paid $10,000 without your knowledge?" She needs to clarify it. Because it’s hard to believe sothing like that happened.

"Yes, Aunty. My father and Ryland didn’t pay the bill."

"Then who did pay?" Rosa asked again.

"Aunty, did you pay it and pretend you didn’t?" Abigail playfully says, causing Rosa to chuckle and shake her head.

"Well, dear, I wanted to help you and your Grandma, but I don’t have much money. I’m sorry, Abby. I wish it were , but I didn’t settle the bill."

Abigail smiled before expressing her needs.

"Aunty Rosa, I need your help. Is it possible to ask the hospital for access to the CCTV footage? I want to check who settled the bill."

She continued to share her concerns with Aunty Rosa, explaining that she feared soone might misuse her na with this paynt. She wanted to prevent any negative consequences in the future.

Rosa understood Abigail’s concerns but felt unsure about what to do. As a nurse at the nursing ho, she didn’t have the authority to make decisions for the hospital.

Additionally, hospital staff cannot access the CCTV footage casually. They require a valid reason, permission from higher-ups, and, in so cases, even approval from the police to release the footage.

However, Rosa didn’t want to refuse Abigail’s request outright. "Abigail, I will try to talk to them, but I can’t promise you the outco, dear. I hope you understand..."

"I understand, Aunty," Abigail replied, smiling gratefully for Rosa’s willingness to help her.

"Is there anything you want to ask?" Rosa inquired, glancing at her watch.

Abigail nodded.

"How is Grandma’s health lately?" She wanted to know because she planned to share the news about her and Ryland with her Grandmother. If her Grandmother’s health weren’t stable, she would postpone telling her.

"Your Grandmother’s health is quite good. She’s been diligent with her walking therapy," Rosa smiled warmly as she shared Sophie Lewis’s health progress.

Rosa continued, "Your Grandma was so happy when I told her you would visit today. Since then, she has diligently followed her therapist’s exercise guidance. I think she wants to show you her progress."

Abigail felt amused by this, but her happiness began to fade as she recalled the shocking news she needed to share with her Grandma.

"Alright, Aunty. I won’t take up any more of your ti. Thank you so much for helping Grandma," Abigail said as she stood up.

She gave Aunty Rosa a brief hug before heading to her Grandma’s hospital room.

The wardroom in this nursing ho is designed like a studio apartnt. The bed was large enough for a single person and had a couple of nightstands on each side. It is also near a large glass window offering a beautiful garden view.

A small living area is furnished with a sofa set, a coffee table, and a television mounted on the wall. The bathroom is designed to provide convenience for their elderly residents, and a small pantry is near the entrance.

Since the night before, Abigail had been preparing sentences to tell her Grandmother about her failed relationship with Ryland.

However, as soon as she opened the door and saw her Grandmother sitting in her wheelchair, gazing at the garden with her back turned toward her, all of the sentences she wanted to tell her Grandmother vanished from her mind.

Trying to maintain a calm expression, she cheerfully greeted her, "Granny, your beautiful granddaughter has arrived," as she entered the room.

"Oh dear, my beautiful granddaughter Abby, you finally ca to see this old woman," Sophie Lewis said as she turned to look at the door, her smile widening as she rolled her wheelchair toward the seating area.

"Why did you just show up now? I’ve been waiting for you since morning, Abby..." Sophie continued.

"I ran into Aunty Rosa at the entrance and had a little chat before coming here," Abigail answered. She placed her bag on the couch and washed her hands in the bathroom.

Afterward, she joined her Grandmother, who was still sitting in her wheelchair and waiting for her.

"I miss you so much, Granny," Abigail carefully threw herself into her Grandmother’s arms, trying not to hurt her.

"Oh, Abby, I miss you too," Sophie replied, her old trembling voice making Abigail hold back a little from tightly embracing her. She didn’t want to cause her Grandmother to cry.

"Granny, would you like to help you move to the sofa?"

Sophie nods.

"I want to sit beside my beautiful Abby," Sophie said excitedly. She felt grateful to have Abigail in her life, as she was her only family.

Sophie didn’t know how long she would live, but before she passed away, she wanted to see her granddaughter, Abigail, marry Ryland.
