Her unexpected answer surprised Sawyer.
"How could soone not have a hobby?" he asked.
"Yeah, that’s ."
"I an, you enjoy making coffee, right? That’s why you’re taking a course to beco a barista!"
Abigail paused montarily, trying to think whether making coffee could be considered one of her hobbies. After a while, she shook her head.
"I guess not. I enjoy drinking coffee, so I’m just trying to learn how to make it..." she explained.
For the umpteenth ti, Sawyer felt a surge of concern for her. He sighed silently, imagining how hard it must be for this girl to care for her grandmother on her own without the support of her father.
Sawyer recalled Ethan’s investigation; even her ex-fiancé had only used her to help build Urbangrid Innovation before eventually leaving her.
’Why does this beautiful and innocent Abigail endure so much?’
This question had often crossed Sawyer’s mind since he first saw her, especially when he witnessed the lowest point in her life: the betrayal by soone she loved.
’Life is so unfair to her!’
After trying to control his emotions, Sawyer offered, "Abby, you can join in my hobby. Maybe you’ll end up liking it!"
Abigail’s face lit up at his kindness.
"Sounds fun. But..." Abigail rembered having to work in a cafe, saving for her grandmother’s monthly expenses at the Autumn Park Nursing Ho. She needs $6,000 every month.
Abigail had already calculated that regular working hours wouldn’t be enough to gather that much money. She needed extra hours to reach her goals.
Alternatively, she could return to designing hos to earn a large payout. However, the thought of going back to that industry made her anxious. She feared that Ryland would jeopardize her career.
"What makes you hesitate to accept my offer?" Sawyer asked after noticing Abigail trying to form words but failing to speak.
A bittersweet smile slowly appears on her alluring lips, "I don’t have much ti. You know I need to work, right? I need to earn a living."
"I understand," Sawyer thought briefly before adding, "Abby, you just need one day off. We could visit my cabin in the woods. The distance is not too far, only a three-hour drive from the city."
Abigail feels tempted by his offer, especially since she can’t rember the last ti she went on a real vacation. When she was still with Ryland, she spent her holidays visiting her grandmother in Orange Town. Even then, she never stayed overnight; she always returned to the capital the sa day.
After thinking for a while, Abigail decides she wants to try new experiences, but not this week. This weekend, she has promised Aunty Rosa that she will visit her grandma.
"Sounds good, Sawyer. Let’s do it. Not this weekend, though; I have plans to visit my grandma," she said.
Sawyer felt disappointed, but his mood quickly changed when an idea struck him. He suggested to her that they could go to the cabin after she finished work on Saturday.
They could spend one night there, and the following day, he would drive her to visit her grandmother while he attended to his business in Orange Town. Afterward, they could return to the cabin for another night before heading back to the capital on Monday, allowing her to work at her café during her afternoon shift.
"How is it?" Sawyer asked. He was curious to hear her respond.
Abigail had no reason to refuse his offer. She nodded in agreent, but soon, a concern crossed her mind.
"Sawyer, do you really have business there? I don’t want you to make it up just for ," Abigail asked, worried that he might be using his plans as an excuse to drive her to Orange Town.
"I really do. My business partners won’t have a problem if I reschedule the eting for the next day. So, let’s say my eting is scheduled for Saturday, but I can easily postpone it to Sunday. While you’re visiting your grandma, I can also et with my business partner," Sawyer explained.
His reassuring expression and tone were enough to lift Abigail’s doubts.
A wave of joy filled her heart at the thought of riding in his car again to Orange Town.
"Sawyer, I’ll take the morning shift on Saturday so we can get to the cabin before sunset," Abigail suggested. She was concerned about Sawyer driving at night in the woods.
"Oh, that sounds like a good idea if you can manage it."
"Yes, I’ll ask my boss, Lana." She was confident Lana would agree. "Is there anything I need to bring? Like food or certain clothing to stay warm?"
Abigail had never gone hiking or stayed in an off-grid cabin before, so she felt clueless about what to prepare.
Sawyer shook his head.
"You just need to bring a few of your usual clothes for two nights and three days. Also, no need to worry about food. I promise you will never starve, and you will gain a few pounds there," he teased.
"No, no, why should I worry about food? If your cabin is as tranquil as you said, l like to ditate while staying there," Abigail replied, her smile growing wider at his playful words.
Sawyer felt his heart pound when he saw her graceful, charming, radiant smile. Her cherry lips seed to issue a silent invitation for him to kiss her.

They continued discussing their plans for another fifteen minutes before Sawyer soon noticed she looked tired and sleepy.
"Abby, I have to go now. It’s midnight, and I could see you need to rest..." Sawyer said as he stood up from his seat.
Abigail nodded in agreent. She was sleepy now but enjoying their conversation so much that she didn’t even realize how late it was.
"Let walk you to your car," Abigail said, moving toward the black tal door, which surprised Sawyer.
Instantly, Sawyer stopped before reaching the door.
"Abby, there’s no need to see off. You’ll be too tired of climbing back to this floor. Why don’t you go inside and get so sleep? I’ll be fine on my own."
Sawyer was concerned that if Abigail walked him to his car, he would have to pretend to drive away from his own house in the middle of the night.
