Dimitri sat majestically in a high-backed chair draped in tiger skin, his sharp gaze fixed on the map sprawled across the table before him. The dim candlelight flickered against the rough stone walls, casting jagged shadows across the weapons that lined the room, blades, axes, and bows, each whispering of past wars and bloodshed. This was no ordinary chamber; it was the Beta Lord's personal armory, the place where he kept the very weapons he carried to war.

A thick silence filled the space until Dimitri's voice cut through it like a dagger.

"How's it going?" he asked, his tone cold yet expectant. "The prince of the human kingdom... the one rumored to have a divine gift... the one said to be capable of lifting my curse. Have you found him yet?"

His fingers curled against the table's edge, his mind consud by the curse that had plagued him for centuries. A cruel, unrelenting affliction that had stripped him of his right to an heir, leaving him infertile, an insult to his lineage. But that was not the worst of it.

The full moon brought more than just madness, it brought ferality, a loss of control that turned him into sothing far more terrifying than any werewolf. During those nights, he beca a monster, his mind overtaken by primal instincts, his body a weapon of destruction. And when dawn arrived, he was left with only fragnts of mory, blood-soaked nightmares of what he had done, of who he had killed.

For all his power as Beta Lord, he was still just a cursed prince.

Liam, his most trusted scout and delta warrior, stepped forward, his golden hair illuminated by the faint glow of the candle light. His sword was held tightly against his chest, a sign of both duty and restraint.

"I'm sorry, my lord," Liam said, his head bowed in deference. "We haven't found him yet. We're still searching." A pause. "So say he might already be dead."

Dimitri's jaw tightened. His fingers, which had been resting against the table, suddenly clenched into a fist.

"Even if he's dead," Dimitri growled, his voice dangerously low, "I need you to bring his body. If he's buried, I want you to dig him up."

Liam swallowed hard but nodded.

Dimitri leaned back, exhaling sharply before shifting his focus elsewhere. "The full moon is approaching," he continued, his tone turning grim. "You know what to do. Protect my household. Make sure no one finds out. I don't want them linking to the feral werewolves that have been slaughtering humans and our kind alike. Alot of people are waiting for my downfall, those treacherous officials in the royal court will do anything to pin treason on once they find out about my secret. "

"Yes, my lord," Liam replied without hesitation. "I understand."

Dimitri smirked, his expression dark with amusent.

"I heard you got yourself a personal maid," Liam added, his voice tinged with curiosity. "A new toy, to be precise."

Dimitri let out a low chuckle. "Exactly," he said, stretching his limbs lazily. "She's... interesting, to say the least. But she'll et her end soon enough. They always do. None of them last."

Liam exhaled, shaking his head. "Maybe if you didn't keep them around during the full moon, they would last longer," he pointed out. "You always get new maids right after the ones serving you dies. It's starting to look suspicious."

Dimitri's eyes darkened, his lips curling into sothing between a grin and a snarl.

"I need to kill," he said simply. "And you know what drives to do it?" His fingers curled slightly, his claws elongating as if to emphasize his point. "It's their eyes, the way they look at when I attack. That mont when their strength fails, when their pleading gaze ets mine... it excites ." His grin widened, revealing sharp fangs. "There's nothing quite like the satisfaction of ripping into them, feeling their intestines spill through my fingers..."

His words trailed off into laughter, a sound that sent a shiver even down Liam's spine.

Dimitri suddenly leaned forward, his expression shifting to one of business.

"Enough of that. The emperor and his Luna are celebrating their union in two days," he said. "I assu everything is ready?"

"Yes, my lord," Liam answered, though a flicker of hesitation crossed his face. "But... are you really sure about this? If the Alpha emperor gets attacked, people will talk." He paused. "Then again, you are using his secret against him. No one can bla you for seizing an opportunity. He killed his own brothers to take the throne hence you're just ensuring he ets the sa fate."

Dimitri smirked. "Just make sure everything is ready. No mistakes." He leaned back, tapping a finger idly against the hilt of hisdagger. "I don't plan to kill him yet...not now, at least. I only want to scare him a little." His smirk widened. "When the ti cos, I'll be the one to end him myself. But first... I need the human prince. Get to work!"

Liam gave a deep bow before turning and exiting the room.

The night passed swiftly, and before long, the first rays of morning sunlight stread through the small window, casting eerie shadows across Sorayah and Lily's faces.

Sorayah stirred, a frown forming as she shifted slightly. Then, as if realization suddenly struck her, her eyes flickered open.

Her heart dropped.

The sun was already up.

"I'm late," she gasped.

Without wasting another second, she bolted from the bed, her limbs moving in frantic urgency. She rushed out of the room towards the bathhouse, splashing water over herself in a hurried bath before quickly dressing in the new maid's attire.

Her fingers fumbled with the fabric as she straightened her sleeves, her mind racing and soon she was done.

Giving Lily one last glance, who was still asleep , her breathing slow and even, Sorayah turned on her heel and ran out the door.

Her footsteps echoed as she navigated the corridors, her heart pounding in her chest.

Finally, she reached Dimitri's chamber.

She barely paused to catch her breath before raising a fist to knock...

But before her knuckles could make contact....

"Co in."
