Raiden’s expression darkened as he processed Hiro’s words. He paced around the room before stopping to look directly at Hiro. "But he never told he wanted the project." He said in disbelief. He still couldn’t wrap his head around Shoji being the reason they fought. "Besides, Project Aegis doesn’t belong to . It’s your family’s work. I’ve only been safeguarding it until the ti cos to hand it over to you. Contrary to what the world thinks, I haven’t even touched the research."

He held Hiro’s hands and pulled him closer. "The truth is, Project Aegis has already been completed by your parents. There’s nothing left for to do even if I wanted to."

Hiro’s eyes widened in surprise. "What?..."

Raiden nodded. "Yes. The project was about Huntington’s disease, and your parents discovered the cure. According to the files I’ve seen, they were planning to announce it on your birthday and put everything they get through the project under your na."

Hiro was shocked. Under his na? But why would they give him everything?

"I can show them all to you if you want." Raiden said. "Everything about the project is there. However, the formula for the cure is sothing only your parents know. Raiden felt a little guilty lying to Hiro about not knowing where the formula was but it was better for Hiro to not know, otherwise, his life would be in danger.

He sighed, running a hand through his hair. He still couldn’t believe Shoji would do this to him. Why couldn’t he just talk to him directly? Why did he have to try to ruin his relationship? Was it because of the billions the cure would bring or was there sothing else? Sothing he was missing? He quickly picked up his phone and sent a text to his secretary, Miss Ling. He needed to know everything he could about Shoji. Especially why he would want Project Aegis. Raiden had a feeling it wasn’t about the money.

When Raiden put down his phone on the desk, Hiro stepped closer and hugged him, resting his head against Raiden’s chest. "I’m sorry." He muttered. "I should never have listened to him from the start. I should never have doubted you Raiden. Henceforth, I will never doubt you. Whatever it is, I will co to you first and listen only to you. I promise. Please, forgive ."

He raised his head, staring pleadingly at Raiden with his glistening champagne coloured eyes and long wet lashes. His small lips were pursed and he looked so cute that Raiden’s heart lted instantly.

He could never stay mad at Hiro for too long. It had always been like that. No matter what Hiro said or did to him, he always went back, always pursued him, always wanted him.

There was never a day that Raiden didn’t want Hiro.

"Fine." He said, pecking Hiro on the lips then chuckling when Hiro’s face went from pitiful to shining brightly like the sun. "But, you’ll have to make it up to ."

Hiro needed eagerly. "I will! I promise!" He grinned mischievously, already knowing what he wanted to do. Tomorrow was Raiden’s birthday and he already had sothing in store, thanks to Michi.

Hiro took a black and white stripped thigh high socks and held it in front of his phone screen, showing to Michi. "What about this one?"
