TERESA’S P.O.V.
After the bath intrusion I had this afternoon, at so point,Lucian must have carried back to bed. Exhausted from the chaos of the day—and, well, other activities—I crashed hard and slept straight through the afternoon. By the ti he woke for dinner, the evening felt like a hazy dream, fading into the night until it was finally ti to crawl back into bed.
The twins were already drifting off to sleep in my arms, their tiny hands curling and uncurling as if dreaming of holding onto sothing. It was one of those quiet evenings when the world outside didn’t exist—just , Lucian, and our little miracles.
Lucian walked over, his movents as smooth and deliberate as always, even with his blindness. "Hand them over, love. My turn."
I smiled, gently transferring our daughter into his strong arms. Watching Lucian hold her was like watching the most delicate dance—every motion filled with reverence. He cradled her with the kind of love that brought tears to my eyes every ti.
"Sit with ," Lucian said, his voice soft as he adjusted himself onto the edge of the bed, both babies now nestled in his arms.
I sat down beside him, hugging my knees as he began to hum a lullaby. His deep, rich voice filled the room, and for a mont, ti seed to stop. He sang an old lody—one I didn’t recognize but felt like ho. The twins visibly relaxed, their tiny chests rising and falling in rhythm with his voice.
"You sing beautifully," I whispered, my voice barely audible."Do you ever get tired of being so perfect at this?" I teased, watching as he slowly got up from the bed and moved with an ease that still surprised towards the baby cribs.
Lucian chuckled, his deep voice sending a shiver down my spine. "Perfect, huh? Coming from you, I’ll take that as the highest praise."
He held our son next to the bed, placing him in the crib with the utmost care. His movents were slow and deliberate, as if he were handling the most fragile treasure then he did the sa thing with our daughter. Once both babies were settled, Lucian turned to , a smile playing at his lips.
"I don’t think I have ever thanked you for these beautiful gifts Teresa, they are absolutely wonderful." he said, his smile turning sweet.
"You’re going to make cry, you know," I whispered, my voice catching in my throat.
He tilted his head, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. "Don’t tell I’ve made the fierce Teresa Williams emotional."
"Shut up," I mumbled, wiping at my eyes.
When the twins’ breathing evened out, Lucian walked quietly up to , his hand brushing my cheek.
"I was planning to decorate their room myself," he admitted, his tone quieter now. "Before I lost my sight. I had so many ideas, but now... I wouldn’t even know if the colors matched, let alone if the arrangent was safe for them."
I placed my hands on his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart beneath my palms. "Lucian Blackwood, do you seriously think sothing as simple as blindness can stop you?"
His brows furrowed slightly, his lips parting to protest, but I didn’t let him speak.
"I’ll be your eyes," I said firmly. "Every step, every decision. We’ll decorate their nursery together, and it’ll be perfect because it’s us doing it. Got it?"
He turned his head toward , his lips curving into that mischievous smirk I adored. "You’d do that for ?"
"Of course," I replied, placing my hands on his face. "We’re a team. Always."
His hands found my waist, pulling closer. "You know," he murmured, his voice dipping to that dangerously flirty tone, "I might start relying on you for a lot more things."
I rolled my eyes, though my cheeks burned. "You’re impossible."
"And you love it," he shot back, his smirk widening.
I laughed, swatting his shoulder lightly. "Get in bed, Blackwood."
He obeyed with exaggerated slowness, tugging down beside him. His arms wrapped around , holding in that protective, unyielding way that made feel untouchable. Lucian’s chin rested atop my head as I traced lazy circles on his chest.
"Teresa," he began, his voice low and asured, "I’ve been thinking."
"Uh-oh," I teased. "Should I be worried?"
He chuckled softly. "Since things have turned out this way, I would like you to handle all the paperwork for my companies."
I froze, pulling back slightly to look up at him, even though I knew he couldn’t see my expression. "Are you serious?"
"Dead serious."
"Lucian, that’s... that’s huge. Shouldn’t you give sothing like that to soone you trust the most?"
He pulled back into his arms, holding tightly. "That’s exactly why I’m asking you. There’s no one in this world I trust more than you, Teresa. Not with my businesses, not with my life, and certainly not with my heart."
My throat tightened, emotions bubbling to the surface. "Lucian..."
"If I were to die tomorrow," he continued, his voice steady but filled with an emotion that made my chest ache, "there’s no one else I’d want by my side in my final monts but you and our babies. I love you, Teresa. Now and until my last breath."
The tears ca before I could stop them. I buried my face against his chest, my body trembling as I let out a choked sob.
"Hey," he murmured, his hand stroking my hair. "What’s this? Did I say sothing wrong?"
I shook my head, my words muffled against his skin. "No, it’s just... I love you too, Lucian. I always have. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t forget you. I’m so grateful to the goddess for bringing us back together."
I felt Lucian’s breath catch, and his arms wrapped around tighter, like he was afraid I might disappear. His voice, thick with emotion, trembled as he whispered, "You have no idea how long I’ve waited to hear those three words from you." After a pause that felt like the world holding its breath, he added, "I love you too, Teresa. More than you’ll ever know."
For a mont, the room was silent, save for the sound of my sniffles. Then, out of nowhere, I blurted, "Yes."
Lucian stiffened beneath . "Yes? Are you saying yes to handling my paperwork?"
I laughed through my tears, looking up at him with a watery smile. "No, you idiot. That’s a yes to officially being your girlfriend."
His entire body went still, and for a mont, I wondered if I’d broken him. Then, with an almost childlike glee, he burst out laughing.
"You’re not ssing with , are you?" he asked, his voice tinged with disbelief.
"I’m a hundred percent serious," I said, my smile growing wider.
Lucian let out a whoop of excitent, pulling into a bone-crushing hug. "You have no idea how happy you’ve just made ."
When his excitent finally cald, he gave a teasing grin. "Had I known this was all it took, I would’ve handed over my entire fortune to you ages ago."
I smacked his shoulder lightly. "Careful, Blackwood, or you’ll find yourself girlfriendless again."
His laughter was loud and genuine as he pulled into a tight hug. "You’re stuck with now, Teresa. No take-backs."
His lips found mine, before pulling in for a deep kiss. His lips were warm and gentle, yet filled with a passion that left breathless.
"Goodnight, girlfriend, we have a long day tomorrow," he murmured against my lips.
"Goodnight, boyfriend," I replied, my heart full as I drifted off in his arms.
