Chapter 763: Chapter 52 Red Dragon Envoy Chapter 763: Chapter 52 Red Dragon Envoy Outside the door, a large group of people ard with swords and bows had gathered, led by a burly man with thick eyebrows and piercing eyes, his hair disheveled. He was giving instructions to the house owner when Saint Watson heard the commotion and peered out the window, locking eyes with the burly man.
Upon seeing Saint Watson, the burly man’s eyes seed nearly to spit fire, “Catch that foreign dog!”
Saint Watson’s reaction was incredibly fast, not bothering to explain, he flicked a mung bean the size of a fingernail out the window. The bean exploded mid-air, releasing a dense green fog that headed straight for the burly man and his n.
The burly man threw up his cloak, the brown fabric revealing intricate fla runes, to block the green fog, but those around him weren’t so lucky, as they were enveloped by the fog and collapsed imdiately.
The burly man charged out of the thick fog, pulling a bright red flag from his horse’s saddlebags. He bit his tongue, spraying blood onto the flag, then threw it forcefully. The small flag flew towards Saint Watson like an arrow. Watson dodged to the side; the flag flew through the window into the hut and planted itself in the firm soil. The flag radiated an intense firelight, growing fiercer inside the hut. Li Yan realized sothing was amiss, if he allowed the small flag to explode, the whole house could be destroyed.
Saint Watson also realized the flag’s extraordinary power. He punched through the wooden window and leapt out of the hut with agility. anwhile, the owner’s wife and children were completely unaware of what had happened, still serving the porridge she had just cooked for Li Yan and Saint Watson, staring blankly at the fiery Dragon Flag on the ground.
Li Yan raced over in three strides, flipping over to snatch up the burning Dragon Flag from the ground. He gripped the still-writhing flag between his fingers, repeatedly dousing it with diluted Soul-forgiving Water, until the dragon pattern and spells on the flag faded and vanished. The firelight finally disappeared.
Seeing Saint Watson escape, the burly man drew his blade, aiming to strike, but suddenly the view in front of him darkened as a tall, gaunt figure lunged straight for his face. The burly man didn’t have ti to recognize the features of the assailant; he changed his slicing motion to a sweep, but just as he was about to exert strength, his wrist was clamped down by the figure. Imdiately, he lost his balance, the world turning upside down, as he was thrown out forcefully.
Before the burly man could land, a tendril burst from the ground, wrapping around his ankle and suspending him upside down in mid-air.
Saint Watson walked over to the burly man with a grin, seemingly unfazed by the recent ambush, and greeted him in standard local dialect, “Young man, where exactly did I offend you that you want to kill so badly?”
The burly man sneered and suddenly spat out two bloody front teeth. Whatever magic the burly man was under, his whole body seed to be made of explosive fire; the teeth detonated mid-air into a giant fireball, nearly engulfing Saint Watson completely.
Li Yan released Saint Watson and approached the burly man, grabbing his wrist and dousing his entire body with diluted Soul-forgiving Water. The burly man shook as if struck by lightning, his eyes bulging, clearly enduring great pain, yet he clenched his teeth without uttering a sound, until the fla patterns on his body were entirely washed away by the Soul-forgiving Water. Left barely breathing, the burly man obviously had no strength left to resist.
Li Yan threw him to the ground and slurped from the bowl of porridge in his hand, asking, “Why do you want to kill the foreigner?”
He was halfway through his sentence when he suddenly felt that the burly man looked familiar. Squinting his eyes, he pressed on, “Were you, by any chance, from Lantau Island before?”
Na: Hong Liangyu
Red Dragon Envoy of the Five Dragon Sect
One of the five Dragon Envoys entrusted with important missions by the Sect Leader of the Five Dragon Sect, Tianbao. Their strength is profound and unfathomable, surpassing even the notorious Demon Thief Queen Yan from the past.
Threat Level: White
The power of this Red Dragon Envoy has reached Eight Extres Peak. In this worldly realm of the fruit, he could already be considered suprely dominant. What surprised Li Yan was that, if he rembered correctly, this man was a Red Flag elite known as the Gaoli ghost just a few months ago. He had retired before the battle at Lantau Island and should have gone ho to get married by now.
“Do you still rember who I am?”
When Hong Liangyu, who had been preparing himself for death, heard Li Yan’s question, his eyes opened wide with shock and uncertainty. After recognizing Li Yan’s features, he was stunned for several seconds before recalling the recent techniques used and the familiarity of past days. His expressions changed multiple tis until he finally forced a tragic smile and gritted his teeth, “What kind of demon are you to impersonate our Tianbao Dragon Head? Now that it’s co to this, do what you will; kill or maim as you please, spare your words.”
After saying that, he closed his eyes tightly, refusing to see, hear, or pay any attention to Li Yan anymore.
“…”
“Heh, interesting.”
Li Yan didn’t waste any more effort. After finishing the watery porridge in his bowl, he saw the hoowner’s wife rush out, crying bitterly over her husband who had just been knocked unconscious by the green mist. Li Yan then turned to look at Saint Watson.
The old man shrugged his shoulders and, reaching behind his waist, pulled out a spray bottle. He sprayed the unconscious hoowner twice, and the man slowly began to co to.
“Brother, I’ve caused you trouble,” said Li Yan, helping the hoowner up and slipping a piece of silver into his hand. Pointing to Liangyu, who lay with closed eyes, he instructed, “If these people on the ground wake up and ask about the whereabouts of this tall fellow, tell them he was taken by the two of us to the woods in the southwest direction and urge them to send reinforcents imdiately.”
Saint Watson suddenly spoke up, “I think the first thing those soldiers will do when they wake up is to kill this poor couple.”
Li Yan’s brows furrowed as he dryly asked Liangyu, still lying with his eyes closed, “Would you do that?”
He had expected Liangyu to argue a bit, but instead, the other man just sneered and remained silent.
Li Yan, as if talking to himself, said thoughtfully, “I rember you; you’re one of Cha Daozi’s n. I rember you weren’t like this before.”
Liangyu’s eyelids twitched, but he said nothing.
“Then there’s nothing to be done. These people have kindly taken us in; we can’t implicate them. I’ll think of a solution.”
The hoowner’s expression, originally bleak with regret for having greedily taken in two troublemakers, brightened at Li Yan’s words. However, his hopes were dashed as Li Yan pointed at Saint Watson, “Old man, kill everyone on the ground.” At that, he cried out and collapsed to the floor.
“Why ?” Saint Watson asked.
“It’s more ‘convenient’ for you.”
“Wouldn’t it be even more ‘convenient’ to throw them into your fishpond to feed the fish?”
“They won’t kill anyone.”
Finally, Liangyu spoke up.
“On what do you base that guarantee?” asked Li Yan. Seeing Liangyu at a loss for words, he waved his hand dismissively, “Forget it, just kill them.”
“Revive them, and I’ll talk to them,” said Liangyu helplessly.
Li Yan gave Saint Watson a look, and with a sigh, Watson lifted the spray bottle and indiscriminately sprayed the unconscious soldiers. Soon, the ground was filled with groans.
“You must imdiately return to the main camp and report to Jin Yu that there’s an imposter at Shiwei Gorge claiming to be the Five Dragon Sect Leader, and they’re conspiring with foreign demons. Tell her to prepare the ritual horses and ask the Sect Leader himself to deal with this person. Rember, you must have the Sect Leader personally co; do not act rashly.”
“Red Dragon Envoy, you…”
Soone hesitated.
“I’m not seriously hurt.”
Liangyu glared with wide eyes, “Now go!”
