Chapter 262: Chapter 2: Terrifying Improvent!
Yan Fu’s secret stash consisted of various mystical objects dispersed among the fruits of the Yan Fu trees, which noticeably enhanced the abilities of those traversing Yan Fu.
Previously, whether it was “Dragon Tiger Qi” or “Corpse Dog Money,” they had all bestowed great benefits upon Li Yan, and this ti, the “Longjing Copper Talisman” used to dip the Yin Wan was no exception.
Originally, the Taiping Wenshu·Yinwan was a translucent purple copper sphere, hard and etched with complex patterns. Whenever Li Yan held it in his hand, a low chanting sound would echo in his ears, which he could only hear clearly if he concentrated, it was quite magical.
Li Yan initially had two choices.
Either he could sacrifice the Yin Wan, unlocking all the spells of the Taiping Docunt, but due to the skill bar limitation, he could learn at most four.
Considering that aside from “Wind Marsh,” the other three skills were indispensable to Li Yan, he would ultimately learn only one spell from the extensive Taiping Docunt.
...
Or, he could study the spells within the Yin Wan himself, free from the constraints of Yan Fu’s skill bar, but it would require a significant investnt of ti and effort, and he would face a permanent penalty.
Considering that Li Yan had already returned and it was unlikely Yan Fu would shove him back, it was most probable that outside of the fruit, it was impossible to cultivate the Taiping Docunt normally.
But now, Li Yan had an additional option.
To use the “Longjing Copper Talisman” to dip the Yin Wan.
What caught Li Yan by surprise was that the result of the dipping was that both the palm-sized dark gold copper talisman and the purple Yin Wan shattered simultaneously!
With a crisp pop, as if a furnace had exploded, Li Yan’s hand was covered in purple and dark gold dust.
A pinprick-like pain shot through Li Yan’s palm into his brain, and before he could react, a bone-chilling coldness rushed back up his arm, against the pain, back to his hand!
The burning pain and the invigoratingly cool sensation washed over Li Yan’s hands, back and forth. The purple and dark gold dust on his hands, agitated, quickly turned into countless tiny seal scripts and penetrated Li Yan’s skin and flesh, disappearing without a trace.
Li Yan frowned, his clenched fist immobile, the itchiness unbearable. But with his willpower, he endured and got through it—it was not an insurmountable ordeal.
About four or five minutes passed.
“Dipping of Longjing Copper Talisman complete.”
Li Yan let out a sigh of relief. He spread his hands again and the gold and purple dust that had rged with his flesh and blood had, at so point, converged into a quivering drop of purple liquid that gathered but did not disperse, lying in the palm of Li Yan’s hand.
[Taiping Docunt](Dipped)
Category: Yan Fu’s Secret Stash!
Evolving from one of the three hundred and six Yin Skills of the “Wudoumi Witch Ghost Record” of the Orthodox Yin Skill lineage through dipping by Heavenly Mother’s Secret Treasure and combined with the flesh and blood circulation of those traversing Yan Fu.
Can enhance legacy skills, applicable to any one of the following one hundred sixty-four skills.
Example: …
Your Gu Huo Bird ets the legacy enhancent criteria.
Each legacy skill can only be enhanced once.
Each enhancent will consu 1000 Yan Fu points and deplete one or more of the three hundred and six Yin Skills from the Taiping Docunt. Once all three hundred and six Yin Skills are exhausted, this object will disappear.
Li Yan read the explanatory text several tis, with a tumultuous wave surging in his heart.
The Gu Huo Bird had been enhanced before, twice with the Nine Phoenix Talisman and Corpse Dog Money. But the value of this Taiping Docunt far exceeded those.
The previous items were just appetizers, this was one of the substantial rewards Li Yan had sought with great effort and resources.
Li Yan first chose to enhance the legacy skill “Blood Dip.” He was prompted to consu 1000 Yan Fu points, as well as twelve Yin Skills from the Taiping Docunt including “Hollow Knife,” “Carmine Patch,” and “Wang Lingji.”
As Li Yan confird the enhancent, the purple liquid in his palm evaporated slightly, although it was nearly imperceptible to the naked eye.
A multitude of characters flashed before Li Yan’s eyes.
“Blood Dip enhancent complete.”
The effects are as follows:
“[Blood Dip will now carry fixed damage to the ‘Fetal Light,’ ‘Refreshing Spirit,’ ‘Squatting Arrow,’ ‘Swallowing Thief,’ ‘Non-poison,’ ‘Remove Filth,’ and ‘Foul Lung’ in the Three Souls and Seven Spirits, in addition to the previously added ‘Corpse Dog,’ totaling two souls and six spirits!]”
“[You can now detonate Blood Dip imdiately upon hitting, causing fixed damage to the enemy’s soul and spirits, with no cooldown and no side effects.]”
“[You can now use Blood Dip on up to three enemies simultaneously.]”
“[The side effects caused by the high-damage Blood Dip from cumulative damage have been further reduced, only reducing the ‘Hook Star’ effect by half.]”
That was not all, as Li Yan once again used the Taiping Docunt to enhance, this ti choosing “Hidden Flight.” This only cost three Yin Skills: “Replacent Body Spell,” “Qingluan,” and “Kill Fighting Gang.”
A bit of the Taiping Docunt’s purple syrup evaporated once more.
The enhancent effect of Hidden Flight is as follows:
“[The energy expenditure to use Hidden Flight has been reduced]”
“[Upon activating Hidden Flight, you gain a Gang Dou Bodyguard, offering particularly outstanding protection against arrows and bullets]”
“[When Hidden Flight is activated, you can switch places with your own and the ‘Goddess Gu Huo’ projection at any ti. The range is around eight ters.]”
After two enhancents, there were still plenty of Yin Skills left in the Taiping Docunt, and behind the Gu Huo Bird, phrases such as “[Nine Phoenix Enhancents][Two Souls and Six Spirits Enhancent][Heavenly Gang Fighting Numbers Enhancent]” appeared in variety.
Despite the lack of any hints, Li Yan inexplicably felt that if he used a few more Nine Phoenix Talismans, or collected all the enhancents for the Three Souls and Seven Spirits, he might not be too far from the rumored “Inheritance Evolution.”
Li Yan exhaled a breath, holding back his excitent. Glancing once more at his original Yan Fu points, which had been just over ten thousand, after enhancing his specialization, acquiring strange objects, and enhancing his inherited skills, he had less than two thousand points left, but it was completely worth it.
The intensity of Li Yan’s recent upgrade could be said to be unprecedented since his arrival in Yan Fu!
What remained required a certain amount of grinding.
One was to bathe in the dicinal soup of the “Quanlang Sea Ghost,” and the other was to visualize the “Flying Carp Three Moves” and thoroughly understand the enhancents he had gained during this period…
Had he forgotten sothing?
Li Yan looked sowhat conflicted at his six chances to draw.
He had even given up the “Mazu” inheritance in his exclusive rewards for the sake of obtaining the Lord of the Xiang River, which was from the sa divine system as the Gu Huo Bird. If he failed to draw it in six tries, that would be a real setback.
Originally, when Li Yan faced Mo, he chose the Lord of the Xiang River as the content of his next event’s inheritance for a very simple reason: in addition to both being from the Chu Region Divine System, Li Yan considered the synergy with the second inheritance, the Gu Huo Bird.
Nine Phoenix Power is most powerful in places of abundant water vapor, but by itself, Nine Phoenix Power could not create water like the Xuan Ming inheritance from the battle at Yan Capital.
Thus, Li Yan’s requirent for the second inheritance was that it be related to water vapor and from the Chu Region Divine System, preferably a Five Immortals Category inheritance, in order to access the deeper permissions of Yan Fu as soon as possible, making the Lord of the Xiang River the best choice for him.
On the other hand, giving up the exclusive reward was for multiple reasons. If Li Yan were to establish a long-term base on Lantau Island, taking the exclusive reward would make it a one-off deal and the foundation of the Red Flag Gang would stagnate.
Let’s try drawing a few tis.
Drawing in progress…
A section of bamboo covered with red spots fell into Li Yan’s hands.
“[Xiang Bamboo]: Bamboo filled with spiritual energy. Artifacts made from it also possess spiritual properties, harmonizing with the mobility powers of the Jie class inheritances.”
Li Yan was unfazed and continued drawing. After five more tries, his expression started to look not so good.
