After leading Gu Zhou Jian on a tour around the Kunlun Mountains, Jun Wu Xiao separated to cultivate alone.
Life at Kunlun Mountain resud its usual routine, with each person entering seclusion for their own cultivation. As Jun Wu Xiao was cultivating, a thought suddenly crossed his mind:
"The next person expected to reach the energy-gathering realm should be Yue Guang. It might take about eight more years. By then, I should check to see if others can achieve the sa speed with the sa thod as I did."
He then continued his secluded cultivation for another eight years. At first, in the capital, the great families kept inquiring about him, but upon learning that he had retreated to the Kunlun Mountains, they did not follow.
The reason was simple: the Kunlun Mountains were considered their seclusion and cultivation grounds. Returning there ant they would be cultivating for a long ti and did not wish to be disturbed.
The major families were not foolish enough to disturb them. Among these families were many high-level cultivators who knew all too well that cultivators hated being disturbed without a legitimate reason while in seclusion.
.....
Eight years passed slowly. During this ti, humanity continued to develop peacefully. Monsters had not been seen for many years, but prevention was better than cure.
The existence of these monsters gradually faded from human mory, leading to a better life without the constant worry.
However, the high-level leaders were not so at ease. They always had to ensure that humanity’s defense systems were still functional to counter attacks from outer space.
They were not naive enough to believe that monsters were their only enemies from the universe. There could be other powerful races out there, as many planets had conditions suitable for life to thrive.
At this mont, Yue Guang was breaking through. The process went smoothly without any hindrance. She felt she could sense sothing in nature and began to focus on this sensation.
After a while, she opened her eyes and said:
"So, this is the dark energy he ntioned? I must compare the usual cultivation thod and alchemy to see the difference."
It took her a few hours to test and get the final result. Yue Guang muttered:
"Indeed, the cultivation speed can actually double. I need to et him now."
She then quickly ran to find Jun Wu Xiao. With her current speed, it only took a few seconds to locate him.
Jun Wu Xiao was in the midst of his cultivation when he suddenly sensed soone equally powerful approaching. He imdiately knew who it was and stepped out to greet her.
"Have you broken through?" he asked.
Yue Guang nodded and replied:
"Yes, I also tried the thod you ntioned. It really does double the cultivation speed."
Jun Wu Xiao nodded, satisfied. He had been planning to ask, but she had already provided the information he needed. He thought:
"So, there’s no difference after all. It makes sense. Given that individuals in the sa realm have similar strength and body intensity, it’s reasonable that their cultivation speeds are the sa."
"Did you feel any headaches during your cultivation?" he asked.
"Yes, but I don’t think it’s a big deal. Previously, it was my body that ached during cultivation; now it’s my head. Anyway, I’m not afraid of pain." Yue Guang replied.
Indeed, she wasn’t afraid of pain. During the great battle years ago, she had been severely beaten but never complained, so a little headache was nothing to her.
Jun Wu Xiao could only nod at her words. Despite the discomfort of headaches, their endurance was incredibly high.
In terms of willpower, they were among the best in the universe and wouldn’t be troubled by such minor issues.
"Is there anything else you want to discuss?" Jun Wu Xiao asked.
Yue Guang thought for a mont before nodding. She said:
"From what I see, the monster cores from before were probably a concentration of dark energy. Now I know that cultivators in the energy gathering realm can manipulate dark energy, which ans I can transform these monster cores into sothing I can use."
Jun Wu Xiao wasn’t too surprised by her realization. After all, if he could figure it out, those on the sa level as him could as well.
"That’s correct, but it’s not necessary. We don’t need to destroy these cores. I don’t believe that the one behind the monsters wouldn’t have figured out by now that they have been wiped out." Jun Wu Xiao said.
Yue Guang nodded, understanding. Then she suddenly said:
"Get a monster core. I have sothing I want to test."
Although Jun Wu Xiao didn’t know what she wanted to do, he retrieved a monster core for her. Holding the core in her hand, she focused her spirit on it.
Not long after, Yue Guang managed to separate a fragnt from the core, much to Jun Wu Xiao’s astonishnt. He asked in surprise:
"I tried breaking it before, but it wouldn’t budge. How did you manage to do that?"
"It is indeed very hard but if you manipulate the dark energy inside and cause it to split, it’s not too difficult. During the process, I realized the one who made this has imnse power. I’m not sure exactly how strong, but certainly much stronger than I am now. Also, these things are just casually made products in huge quantities, not serious creations." Yue Guang replied.
Hearing this, Jun Wu Xiao frowned and asked:
"How did you figure that out?"
Yue Guang looked at him with an expression that made him feel even more perplexed. Then she explained:
"Are you stupid? This thing is made entirely of dark energy. What does that an? It ans the creator can transform dark energy into matter. Do you think you can do that? We can only influence dark energy but cannot turn it into matter. Furthermore, the person who created the monsters didn’t need to do anything additional, and the monster cores can permanently remain in a material state without degrading. Achieving all this doesn’t indicate imnse power?"
