Fenrir already released the first seal of Gleipnir, increasing her strength. To her, even imagining forcing the release of the second seal was impossible. As such, she couldn’t rely on that path.

She needed enough strength to at least fend off Vulcanus until he burned out.

Since he was literally burning his soul to gain power, his life wouldn’t last for long. Fenrir’s only hope was to delay him until that ti arrived.

"Ack...!"

However, she wasn’t given enough ti to even think properly.

Vulcanus continued attacking endlessly, sending punches, kicks, and even large, golden suns toward her, devastating their imdiate surroundings.

Most of them were evaded, but still, a few connected and added injuries to her body.

"At this rate...!" Fenrir bit her lip in chagrin.

As before, she wasn’t scared of death. Rather, dying for Axel felt more like an honor to her. The problem was that if she died without accomplishing anything... that was what she feared the most.

’At least I should take Vulcanus down with ...!’

With firm determination, Fenrir dodged the incoming small, golden sun and reached the space above Vulcanus. Her eyes were burning with will, with only the enemy before her in sight.

She couldn’t increase her strength in an instant.

She lacked the abilities that Vulcanus had, which allowed him to sacrifice his soul for strength.

However, it’s not like she had nothing left either.

As the wolf that beckons the start of Ragnarok, Fenrir was in no way "weak." Even in her sealed state, if she put her mind to it, she could beat the current Vulcanus... however, that was only if she didn’t care about what happened to her later on.

"But fuck that...!"

And specifically, that was her current mindset.

She didn’t care what would co as long as she could wipe Vulcanus off the face of the earth—as long as she could eliminate this dangerous being that threatened her master’s life.

At that mont, her figure rapidly changed from a humanoid form into her original figure—the mythical wolf, Fenrir.

With her first seal broken, her size was about three tis bigger than before... a good thing, considering what she was about to do. After all, despite the dramatic increase, she was still about the size of a big rat compared to Vulcanus.

[Raaaagh...!]

Vulcanus seed to have already lost his mind. Sacrificing his soul for power ca with a great cost. His actions seed simple and mindless, but so fast that Fenrir found it difficult to defend—

But... she didn’t.

A fist landed right on her giant wolf form’s face, crushing her nose and making it bleed. The injury reverberated throughout her body. However, instead of fear, her eyes radiated like a predator’s.

Fenrir opened her maw and closed it the next instant, too fast to react to.

The next mont, the giant’s entire right arm vanished.

[...!]

It was a familiar attack, a familiar result. If he still had his mind, then the next step was easy to predict—he’d stop Fenrir from doing another bite attack.

However, his mind was geared toward destroying his enemy rather than protecting himself.

As such, rather than gaining distance and re-initiating attacks, he simply twisted his body and slapped Fenrir down to the ground.

A giant palm hit her from above, sending her crashing with great force—but before she hit the ground, she opened her maw and took another big bite.

’Devour...!’

She "deleted" another arm up to his shoulder in one go before her back landed, creating a deep crater on the battered, half-lted ground.

With this, Vulcanus had lost both hands.

Fenrir spoke as she struggled to stand, her four limbs shaking unsteadily. "There’s no way you can block my next attack."

[GRAAAAGH!]

Vulcanus, unfortunately, didn’t listen to her at all.

Without hands, he could only use his feet, stomping in Fenrir’s direction. Each of his actions was simple but far too fast.

But this ti, Fenrir didn’t fear the attack or dodge. Instead, she just smiled.

At the sa ti, she raised her head, opened her mouth, and revealed a small dot—a black ball—forming in the middle of it. Sothing created using the energy from both of Vulcanus’s arms, along with all her mana and energy.

"I’m taking you to hell with ...!"

Fenrir’s maw spread wide, as if she were about to take the biggest bite of her life. Then a single word echoed through the field of ice and fire, quiet but deadly.

"Ginnungagap (The Yawning Void)...!"

At that mont, everything vanished.

The heat of flas raging around them, the cold released by the sharp icicles, the noise of battle... even the concept of ti itself.

The figures of Vulcanus and Fenrir disappeared.

Only a blanket of darkness—of nothingness—enveloped everything within a kiloter.

An attack so powerful that even Fenrir wasn’t sure if she’d survive using it.

However, one thing was certain...

Vulcanus was no more.

His life... his soul... his entire existence was wiped from the universe and returned to the great void.

The giant ball of darkness that spanned a great distance vanished as quickly as it appeared—basically in a split second.

And when it reappeared, only a single figure remained.

Fenrir.

She stood there in her wolf form, slowly reverting back to her small, weak, human form... and fell forward, face-flat onto the ground.

"I... survived that...?" Fenrir muttered, shocked at the fact herself.

Ginnungagap. It was the Great Void at the beginning, where everything ca from and everything returned. As such, even the one using it would undoubtedly be pulled toward that void and return to nothingness...

At least, that was how it was supposed to go.

But Fenrir, even after using her ace in the hole, remained.

She couldn’t help but wonder how she made it back, but at the sa ti, feel happy she could still stay by Axel’s side.

"Fenrir...!"

Just then, a voice called out to her.

A familiar voice. The voice of the great man she worshipped, the one she swore to protect with her life.

Pushing herself to turn, she saw a large aircraft in the air above, hovering like a hummingbird, with a single figure peeking out from the side.

"Mas... ter..."

As soon as she saw Axel’s face, the tension in her body finally released. With her mana and energy completely gone, what happened next was inevitable.

Fenrir, the legendary wolf, had fainted.
