Seeing Chen Muxue’s slightly disdainful laziness, with a face that seed uninterested in speaking, Xiaohu scratched his head, suspecting that he might have done sothing wrong or said sothing inappropriate.

Although the current situation didn’t seem very good, he subconsciously believed that the Sect Leader wouldn’t harm them. If harm was intended, it would have been done long ago, even letting them fend for themselves initially. They might have already perished without any intervention.

So Xiaohu silently went to the kitchen. He followed the steps he rembered from when he had cooked for Chen Muxue before, making a pot of chicken porridge. He thought, after sleeping for so long, Xiaohua must be hungry, and the Sect Leader, having been out for so long, has finally returned. Surely they can’t always sit in the dining hall waiting for food to be served, right?

Changfu ca looking for Xiaohu, and seeing him like this, decided to help him out. They both had watched Chen Muxue cook enough tis, so they managed to prepare a decent al.

"The taste... though it can’t compare to the Sect Leader’s cooking, it’s at least edible." After Xiaohu tasted the porridge, he quickly cooked a simple plate of greens, and only then did they bring it to the dining hall.

anwhile, Chen Muxue had already helped Xiaohua absorb Wu Xin and even woke her up with a sowhat "rushed growth" approach.

Xiaohua seed to have woken from a long nightmare. The mont she opened her eyes, a strange light flashed before it quickly dissipated. She looked around in confusion until she saw Chen Muxue, then reached out her hands lovingly, eyes filled with tears: "Sect Leader, hug."

Chen Muxue was taken aback. Though they had relied on each other back in the day, apart from helping one another, they rarely showed much affection, especially Chen Muxue herself. Orphaned at a young age and coming from a declining family, she was not good at expressing emotions, so their interactions were mostly in the respectful manner of a younger generation towards an elder.

Even back then, Xiaohua at this age had never behaved so coyly with Chen Muxue.

But now, Xiaohua seed to look at her as if she were her biological mother, her eyes filled with fondness, and her small mouth pouting, as if convinced Chen Muxue’s affection for her would never change.

As if guided by so invisible force, Chen Muxue reached out to lift Xiaohua. Her movents were awkward and her body stiff. Xiaohua, still groggy, wrapped her arms around Chen Muxue’s neck and buried her face into her shoulder, as if it didn’t matter as long as she was held.

Chen Muxue suddenly felt a bit at a loss for what to do, a feeling of embarrassnt she hadn’t experienced in a very long ti, mixed with a hint of novelty.

"Hungry!" Xiaohua said, once she regained her senses, realizing her stomach was growling.

Chen Muxue was silent. How many years had it been since she last ate anything? Just as she was considering going out to buy sothing, the young boy popped his head back in, soon followed by another familiar head that Chen Muxue recognized.

"Sect Leader, are you hungry?" Xiaohu hesitated a bit but eventually spoke out. "I made so porridge. I thought since Xiaohua has slept for so long, so porridge would be good for digestion. Shall we go eat?"

Chen Muxue didn’t expect that this little tiger not only had grown up a bit but had also learned to cook porridge. Naturally, she nodded in agreent.

Looking at the decently colored chicken porridge in front of her, slling its fragrance, and glancing at the simple plate of greens, for so reason, many evaluations suddenly appeared in Chen Muxue’s mind, even identifying areas for improvent.

She frowned; she rembered her own business clearly enough. Given her past cooking standards, the current al was already quite acceptable. How co she was starting to pick faults?
