The ssage Nyx had gotten was rather cryptic. She did not understand what it ant, especially since she and her brother had already lost their ho.

Not that she was ungrateful to the shopkeeper for taking them in.

He was a good man, a great man even. But both she and her twin had lived their whole life in the do along with Eon. They had never been separated before, so now she felt a little lonely.

She was sure that her twin felt the sa but unlike her, he did not say anything or show it.

The current situation felt like a dream... a long one that showed no sign of ending anyti soon and it started ever since she had ford a consciousness and gotten to know that she was a person as well.

Her world started as a part of the trio of her, Erebus, and Eon. They had shared a soul and a connection. But because of this, they were also different and taken in for protection.

From then on, the only one who looked after them was their guardian griffin and they only knew to trust him...

Until the shopkeeper ca and changed their world. For the first ti, Nyx felt more emotions she could recall and she also knew that her life would change.

And then, she saw Goddess Helia’s light and her world changed for the second ti.

The bond between her, her twin, and Eon broke and for the first ti, she was not part of the trio, but her own person.

And she did not know what to do anymore.

"Let’s head back now. Otherwise, we will be late for dinner... that I still need to cook."

The shopkeeper sighed as he walked them back to the bookstore.

Speaking of this place, it was weird as well. There was so kind of weird energy around this place that was not visible to the naked eye. It made this place feel much more mysterious...

No, that was not the feeling Nyx got from this place either.

She could not explain what, but her senses told her that this shop was special. Just as special as the shopkeeper was.

"Alright, I will call you down once it’s ti for dinner. You can play around until then."

The shopkeeper told them both and Nyx grabbed Erebus’s hand before she dragged him back to their room.

It was much bigger and cleaner than the one they had back in the do, but it felt too big. Nyx quickly got settled before she looked at her brother.

"Erebus, what did the ssage say for you? Are you not going to share with ?"

She asked, now curious about what her brother hid from her. But Erebus still did not show her.

Instead, he turned to look aside with a blush on his face.

"Nothing..."

Her brother spoke in a low voice which was almost impossible to hear. He hardly ever talked, but he was still important to her.

Nyx pouted at her brother’s answer. She did not like it even a single bit. But she was not going to pressure him into answering either.

"Alright, I understand. You don’t have to tell anything. But promise to tell if you are ever in trouble."

She told her brother and he nodded. The shopkeeper was a new start for them both and one they felt like they could trust... or, at least Nyx felt like that. She was not sure how her brother felt about all this.

He remained quiet, his feelings still a mystery to her.

But at least he did not look as gloomy as before, so that was a start.

"Alright, dinner is done and over with and the kids are tucked in. I finally have so free ti to myself."

I felt my body scream as I threw myself on the couch. It had been a tiring day for . I looked at my screen and at the successful harvest of the day.

600 faith points seed like a miracle to and the claw machine proved to be the best investnt I ever made in my life up until now.

So I imdiately wanted to buy another. I finally had the points to purchase one and still have so decent sum left over.

Before I could make any decision, soone knocked at my door and I went ahead to open it. I blinked as a young girl looked back at . Her familiar eyes looking grateful that I opened the door for her.

"Shopkeeper, you are finally back? Do you have so ti to hear out?"

The female asked and I let her inside. It had been so ti since Emma dropped by. But I was more concerned about the timing of her visit since it had already gone dark outside.

"Co inside. Hurry. It is not safe for you to be out here at such a ti."

The female looked surprised by my words and another look of gratitude overca her face. She followed inside and took a seat.

"As expected, the shopkeeper seed to already know that it’s dangerous for to be out at such a ti."

Emma spoke like an adult and I had a sudden realization that she was likely not a kid... at least, not a normal one.

I felt almost embarrassed that it took so long to notice this. But in my defense, I had thoroughly rejected the idea of anything supernatural when I first ca here.

Even now, when I knew that Emma was likely a grown person, I could not help but see her as a kid in need of guidance and assistance.

That was when I made a decision: I was going to ignore any conscious knowledge that could make feel awkward.

Was the child in front of likely a grown person? Highly likely.

Was I going to acknowledge it? Not a chance. I was going to keep living in my delusion that this was still a child. It was better for my ntal health.
