"I... see. So we have a new neighbour? I will be sure to drop by and introduce myself to them."

Shelly grinned, almost as if she knew sothing I did not. Her smile felt unnerving, but I decided not to pay attention to it and instead headed back to work. The custors were starting to walk inside now.

"Alright~ I will take my leave now. And rember, if you have any exciting news, don’t forget to share it with ."

The woman told before she left. Once she was gone, the kids ca out as well and gave a look.

"Shopkeeper, that female... sothing is off about her. She has a weird energy surrounding her."

Nyx said as she frowned and looked at the woman. Her twin clutched her dress and hid behind her. But he looked confused as well.

I wondered how to answer their question, but I did not have an answer for them. For , Miss Shelly felt the sa as most people. The fact that these kids felt sothing else ant that either they were super sensitive or I was highly insensitive.

And I did not want to know the answer to this question.

The conversation dropped soon enough once more and more custors started to drop by. They asked about the twins and who they were, and I lied about them being my ’sister’s kids’ who ca to stay with .

I had expected people to ask more questions, but all I received were pitiful glances as people kept looking at the kids.

I had a feeling that most people did not buy my ’sister’s kids’ excuse and likely thought I had sohow fathered these kids and was suddenly left with them.

Just how old did they think I was to have kids that were almost half my age?

’Never mind... let’s not think about it. I think I will have a small headache if I keep thinking about it.’

I reminded myself as I moved around. I quickly got my work finished and then closed the shop. It finally gave so ti to breathe... but not for long.

Two pairs of curious eyes looked at , wondering what we were going to do next.

And I had the perfect activity for them.

"Now that you both have settled down and beco pseudo-workers of this place, let introduce you to the other workers. Co, follow ."

I took the kids to the back door which opened into the back garden. The room was as ssy as ever and I had the kids run through it once I opened it.

The back garden looked much more lively compared to before. A huge part of it had been cleared up and the fairies had planted more food for themselves.

Sohow, they had managed to keep themselves sustained.

"Master is back—"

"He’s back—"

"Let’s welco master back—"

The fairies wasted no ti in gathering around and swarming . They tugged at my hair to bring closer to their ho before they noticed the new addition.

"Who—"

"There are kids here—"

"Weird kids. Sll and feel wrong—"

The fairies suddenly seed to be getting aggressive toward the two kids in the back. They were beginning to scare a little, and I knew I needed to do sothing before they hurt the kids.

So I carefully placed myself between the kids and the fairies to act as a barrier for both sides.

"Alright, let’s not get too excited. These two are new employees at the shop, so don’t hurt them, alright?"

I warned the fairies and they did not look happy. Their eyes looked at the kids with suspicion.

But because I had asked them to back off, they did so while also keeping an eye on . Luckily, no one had gotten hurt because of what happened.

"Master asked us to back down—"

"So we will back down—"

The fairies finally cald down and I let out a sigh. It had been a close call. Once one side was taken care of, I turned to look at the kids. They looked shocked to see the fairies and they slowly reached out toward them, only to pull back when the fairies moved around.

"You have to be gentle with them. The fairies might look cute at first, but they are vicious creatures who can tear you apart."

I warned, and the kids pulled their hands back with a yelp.

"W-We were not going to touch them. We just... got a little curious, is all. Please do not get angry at us."

Nyx spoke with a yelp as she took a step back. She looked scared and for good reason. I felt sorry for her, so I just gave her a smile.

"It’s fine. You do not have to worry about anything for now. And rember, if you get in trouble, call . Do not try and shoulder everything on your own."

I warned the kids and they looked serious when they nodded before they went back to playing with the fairies.

Everyone slowly adapted and we remained out there for quite a while before I decided that it was ti for us to head back inside.

The kids looked sad to be saying bye to the fairies, but they did not protest and did as I asked.

My eyes landed on the food once more and I flinched as I watched it all go to waste... for now. I needed to get rid of it quickly... so I decided to take so to my new neighbours.

Shelly had told to greet the new neighbours, and from what I knew of her, she did not offer advice that was useless.

That likely ant that my new neighbours were people I needed to be on friendly terms with... or at least be acquainted with.

"Well, ti to head out and et my neighbours. I hope they’re not offended by my food."

I took a deep breath as I packed so longer-lasting food before I went and knocked at their door. My heart beat fast in my chest, mainly because this was my first ti eting neighbours out of my own accord.
