Goddess Helia felt like a proud woman... or like a boss who was concerned with her people and provided for them, but was not interested in knowing how they lived.

That was why I was not sure whether she understood how dangerous the situation down here had gotten for the people.

[There is a foreign power contaminating the do, pretending to be you. It is enchanting your priests. If nothing is done, then your influence here will fade.]

I told the goddess, and there was an even longer pause this ti. I was not even sure whether the goddess was going to reply or not.

After two whole minutes, the goddess decided to reply to . She did not ssage but gave a call.

Ring.

The sound startled enough to almost drop my phone before I picked it up.

"Hello—"

"Those bitches—! How dare they try and convert my followers? Do they not have sha? And even pretending to be at that—! Ugh... no wonder I was feeling weaker these days."

I felt my ears almost blow up due to the loudness of that voice speaking to . I had to rub my ears to make myself feel better.

But the goddess was not willing to stop yelling.

"Those bitches better run because if I catch them, then I will ********"

I pretended to do the smart thing and decided to close my eyes and ears off. I had not heard anything here.

The female’s rage slowly cald down, and her voice ca back to a normal volu as well.

"Fine—! Now I am properly enraged. How dare these fools do this to . Shopkeeper, you said that there will be a ceremony tomorrow, right? I’m going to show up tomorrow, so you better be prepared."

The goddess told , her voice filled with courage and assurance. She was not soone willing to hold back.

I felt reassured to see her, but a part of still felt worried.

"I... don’t think it would be that easy for you to co. The influence of the other power is large around the do, and I have a feeling they’ve already taken precautions to make sure you won’t be able to attend tomorrow."

The goddess’s expression turned thoughtful as she looked at .

"Hmm, you are right. If these bitches are willing to go as far as to stop my influence, then they surely have sothing sinister planned here. They most likely will try to stop the signal from reaching ."

The goddess seed to have figured out what the other side was going to do.

Now, the question was—what was the solution to all this? What could we do to make sure sothing like this did not co to pass?

"Shopkeeper, I have another favor to ask of you. Don’t worry, it won’t be for free either, and you won’t need to put your life on the line."

The goddess told , but a part of felt that she was saying this to make feel better and not because she was sure about it.

Still, I had co this far, so there was no harm in hearing her out.

"Please speak. What is it that you are planning?"

I asked the goddess, and the next second, my system showed a ssage.

"I have sent you a small vial of my blood. You just need to make sure to empty it out at the altar tomorrow when the priests start chanting. If you do, I will get the signal, no matter what."

The female told , and I took out the vial from my inventory.

It was hardly the size of my finger and only had a few drops in it. But the feeling I got from it was imnse.

The goddess seed to be taking no chances, so I decided to ask her a serious question as well.

"Aren’t you putting too much trust in ? What if I betray you and take your blood for myself? I’m sure it will be valuable."

I asked the goddess, just to see what she would do.

Was I putting my life on the line to test the goddess? Yes.

And it was as scary as it sounded. I felt like I was going to suffocate, but I held my head high.

"You are the successor chosen by that old man. And as much as I hate to say it, that old man had remarkable insight— even strength to rival my powers. So I trust your character as well. Or rather, I trust your greed to use my powers and our contract."

The female told , and I felt caught.

Even if I had any thoughts of betraying her, I had a feeling they would all be nipped out by her before I could act on them.

’What a terrifying entity. I need to make sure I am never on her bad side.’

I sighed as I accepted my fate of helping her out.

"Alright. As long as I get out of this situation with my side unhard, I am willing to help you out. But the second this situation turns too heavy for my side, we are out."

I told the goddess, and she gave a reassuring look.

"Of course. I would expect nothing less from you. Then, let’s hope tomorrow cos soon enough."

The goddess told before the call went off... or rather, I lost signal.

[Disconnected from the call—The connection zone no longer available.]

The ssage felt ominous. I had a feeling that Goddess Helia had just lost her last stronghold around her do, and her only contact in here was myself.

I looked at the vial in my hand, and the moonlight made it shine gold.

It felt... familiar, and I looked down at my hands.

"Wasn’t this the sa liquid that I saw when I cut my hands? Is the goddess the sa race as ? What a ridiculous thought."

I shook my head as I thought about this before heading outside the chamber. I had a lot of things to do here.
