The female in front of had a resolute look in her eyes when she told that she wanted to repay .
"Oh-! Is that so? But there is not really anything I want at the mont. Rather, should we talk about you? You look a little... distressed. Is everything alright with you?"
I asked the female. I noticed her face getting darker and darker per second. The shadow behind her eyes gave her a dangerous feeling to be around.
’Just as I expected. She must be related to the underworld and mafia. I need to hold her favor as long as I can so that I don’t get killed off.’
That was what I decided to myself, and the female in front of looked a little disappointed by my answer.
"Is that... so? Then I guess I will have to back off now..."
The female looked disappointed, and I waited for her to bring up another topic so that I didn’t have to bring anything up.
A small amount of red seeped up her sleeve, and the female flinched as she followed my eyes to see the red as well.
"Don’t worry about this. I am just... a little injured. It is nothing for you to be worried about, shopkeeper."
She told , but I was a doctor, and I knew better.
"I know you are a tough person, Miss Spencer. But as... your therapist, I cannot allow you to go around injured. Would you please show your arm?"
I asked the female, and she sighed before she rolled over her sleeve.
The gash she had on her arm was not deep, but it looked ugly. It was the kind that would leave marks for sure if not treated.
I had so dicine, so I was able to treat and wrap it up. Once done, I gave the female a stern look.
"Please keep this out of water and make sure to keep weight off of your arm. Whatever ss you are in is likely not worth losing your life over. So you should try to find a way to resolve the tension."
The female in front of looked surprised that I made such an offer, and her lips wobbled.
For a minute, I was sure that she wouldn’t speak up and would choose to swallow her words instead.
But she surprised by speaking up.
"Shopkeeper, if there is a... grudge... that is centuries old and no one rembers it anymore, but still wants to fight for its sake because we have opposite ideals, what should we do to resolve it?"
The female asked , and I had a feeling that she was talking about whatever ss she was in.
"Hmm, won’t getting a third party to diate in this situation be a good idea? They can be impartial, and as long as they have more than enough power to keep both sides in check, it should be fine."
I told the female the ideal solution.
What I told her was not a practical solution in modern tis due to the power imbalance around the world, but it was often used.
Perhaps, in a world where social hierarchy was a norm, this might work.
Reeze Spencer looked surprised to hear my solution, but I could tell from her expression that she was not going to take it.
"Hmm, that is indeed a solution. But I would rather not have external parties involved in this feud. Still, it is relieving to see that there is a solution to my problem."
The female told as she took another sip of her tea. She was about to finish when I felt my hand reach for a book on the shelf near .
My hands moved as if they were being compelled by sothing, and I pulled the book out.
The title of the book was ’Virtues to Protect and How to Say the Vows.’
Its flowy title reminded of the spiritual books in my past life that older people often read. My instincts told that I should offer this book to Reeze Spencer, so that was what I did.
"Miss, why don’t you buy this book for now? I have a feeling it would help you out in the future. Here, have a look first."
I told the female as I handed her the book.
Reeze Spencer took the book, and her eyes widened as she looked at the pages in the book with wide eyes.
"T-This is... are you sure you want to give sothing this precious, shopkeeper? I have a feeling I won’t be able to repay you for this..."
The female told , but not once did she stop reading the book. She was too lost in it to even turn toward .
"Ah, it’s fine. This book had your na written all over it. And as precious as that book is to , I know it belongs in your hands."
Never let it be said that I was not a flatterer. I could speak up a lot and make up bullshit when I needed to.
I just... never saw a need to do that in the first place.
The sun had completely set outside, and it was ti for my visitor to leave as well. But she seed to have no intention to.
So I coughed, and Reeze Spencer snapped out of her daze to give an embarrassed look.
"Miss, it’s quite late now. And also, if you have ti, you should visit the train station. There is a new... toy there that might be of help to you."
I subtly tried to make Reeze Spencer a custor for in a double sense.
Since therapy was not a solid way to earn faith points, I needed her to spend so on the claw machine.
"Huh-! That claw machine? I think I have heard sothing about that before. Shopkeeper, are you saying you are the one....? No wonder it is such a good product."
The female looked starstruck, but I decided to speak up before any more misunderstanding could be caused.
"I am afraid that you are mistaken about it. The claw machine is sothing I just manage for soone. But that is not what’s important. What’s important is that you should use it if it helps you out."
I told the female, and she looked starstruck before she imdiately stood up.
"Of course. Since it’s the shopkeeper’s recomndation, I will make sure to follow it. For now, I should leave. I have a lot of things I need to get done."
The female made a sudden motion as she stood up. She looked brighter compared to before.
As soon as she left, I felt like collapsing, and Fenrir just scoffed.
"If you don’t feel like helping her next ti, master, I can just bite her to make sure she doesn’t co back."
Fenrir told , and I waved my hand to tell him not to bother.
"No, it’s fine. I am just a little tired. That’s all."
I told Fenrir, but the system’s notification sound distracted the next second.
[Ding! You have gained 10 faith points. Current Balance: 100 faith points]
At least the visit had been worth it. I finally had my balance in triple digits again. But when will it actually increase to make a difference?
