Chapter 35. Feelings and Ambush

As soon as the girl called Zhizi said those words, almost the entire class turned their attention toward Lu Liangting.

It was as if they were seeing him for the first ti.

The words “black stockings” lingered in everyone’s mind and refused to fade.

So of the more experienced boys in the class silently gave a thumbs-up in their hearts, thinking that Young Master Lu truly knew how to enjoy life.

Besides that, there was only one other emotion.

Jealousy.

They were extrely jealous.

Zhizi’s appearance was outstanding.

Especially her cold and aloof temperant, like an iceberg. That aura alone raised her attractiveness by three or four points out of ten.

It made people unable to resist looking at her.

And yet, with that icy expression and those cold eyes fixed on Lu Liangting, she said sothing so contrasting:

“Young Master, I wore the black stockings you like.”

Who could possibly withstand that?

Lu Liangting was just a high school student.

So were the other students.

They had never seen such direct behavior before.

However, Lu Liangting was extrely familiar with Zhizi.

This girl was two years older than him, and he truly had no way of dealing with her.

When she was at ho, she behaved sowhat normally.

But once she was at school or outside, she beca an entirely different person.

She often did things like this that left him completely speechless.

As for black stockings…

He truly did not like them.

That had never been the case.

“Zhizi, did I not tell you before…”

“You did say that, Young Master. You said that I should not expose your preferences in front of outsiders. However, I believe this is not sothing shaful. On the contrary, it is perfectly normal. At the very least, it proves that you are a man with a normal sexual orientation.”

Zhizi stepped forward slightly.

Beneath her black skirt with white lace trim, she was indeed wearing black stockings.

As she spoke, her face remained completely expressionless, and her tone was calm and serious.

Lu Liangting took the packed lunch box from her hands.

For a long ti, he did not know what to say.

“Zhizi, where is your sister?”

“Rose is behind . She stopped to buy sothing for Miss.”

Rose was Zhizi’s twin sister.

Her personality was completely different from Zhizi’s.

She was gentle and considerate, like the caring girl next door.

Because of that, Lu Liangting had hoped that Rose would be the one delivering his lunch rather than Zhizi.

In fact, he had hinted to Rose that morning.

But apparently she had sothing to deal with halfway.

“Alright. You should head back. Be careful on the road.”

“Thank you for your concern, Young Master. I will take care.”

Zhizi bowed slightly.

“Oh, Young Master. My sister asked to remind you to be careful of every woman who tries to approach you. Otherwise, you might die.”

“I will take my leave now. Please take care of your health, Young Master.”

When she stood up, Zhizi paused at the classroom door and deliberately glanced inside the classroom.

Her gaze landed directly on Zhao Mingyue.

She stared at Zhao Mingyue for a long mont before turning around and leaving.

Her movents were elegant and composed.

Everything about her was exactly what one would expect from a perfect maid.

Zhizi left the school gate.

Along the way, many boys turned their heads repeatedly to look at her.

One particularly bold boy even approached her and asked for her contact information.

He was imdiately frightened back by the coldness of her gaze.

Outside the school gate, Rose was already waiting.

Her appearance was almost identical to Zhizi’s.

Their clothing was also roughly eighty percent the sa—black dress, black stockings, and long boots.

The only difference was their hairstyles.

Zhizi wore a high ponytail.

Rose had her hair braided in a scorpion braid.

“I told you already, Zhizi. Do not approach Zhao Mingyue. She is the female protagonist. I know you want to kill her, but you need to asure your own strength. You should learn to retreat when sothing is impossible.”

Rose frowned deeply.

Her amber eyes stared at Zhizi’s calm expression.

“I told you before, but you never listened. Now that you have seen it with your own eyes, you should believe .”

“I said it earlier. There is a terrifying monster beside Zhao Mingyue.”

“That is a monster neither of us can possibly defeat, even if we work together.”

Zhizi did not respond.

She continued walking forward.

Only when they reached a deserted path did she finally speak.

“Sister, we have no choice. The ga officially started a few days ago. We arrived in this world early because the system was showing rcy to weaker players. You know that.”

“The only way for us to leave this place alive is to make Lu Liangting fall in love with us.”

“You have always wanted to resurrect Mother. This is the only opportunity. It is also the final stage.”

Rose suddenly placed her hands on Zhizi’s shoulders.

Zhizi turned around to face her.

“Zhizi, the reason we have survived until now is simply because our luck has been better than others. But luck will never favor the sa person forever. Sooner or later, it will abandon us.”

“Of course I want to resurrect Mother. And of course I know this is the final stage.”

“But precisely because of that, we must be even more cautious.”

“Do not provoke that monster.”

“Sister, after all these years, you are still as weak as ever.”

“Weak? What if I tell you that the monster beside Zhao Mingyue is the Doctor?”

The mont Rose said that, Zhizi’s pupils shrank.

“The… Doctor?”

“That is the only possibility. I am eighty percent certain.”

Rose gave a bitter smile.

Both she and Zhizi possessed abilities related to luck and prophecy.

Because of that, she could roughly guess the identity of the entity beside Zhao Mingyue.

And that was exactly why she was terrified.

Many years ago, she and Zhizi had almost died at that person’s hands.

Her legs had been cut off.

Zhizi had lost one arm.

At that ti, she had thought she was certain to die.

Yet the Doctor had spared them.

Even now, she still could not understand why soone so infamous would let them go.

“…”

“Zhizi, I know you better than anyone in this world. Apart from the matter of the Doctor, there is one more thing I must tell you.”

“Our task is to make Lu Liangting fall in love with us.”

“But you must always rember who you are.”

“Do not pour genuine feelings into anyone in this world.”

“If you do, you will die.”

Zhizi remained silent for a long ti.

“I understand, Sister. I will not cause trouble for Zhao Mingyue.”

“Besides, Lu Liangting will never fall in love with her.”

“The ga has only just begun. There is no way his feelings could waver so quickly.”

“Here. Take this and eat it. Just like before, I prepared it for you.”

On the way ho after school, Lu Liangting handed the lunch box Zhizi had given him to Zhao Mingyue.

He knew that Zhao Mingyue worked at a convenience store and often had to work during lunch break.

She usually did not have ti to eat lunch.

Most of the ti, her lunch consisted of instant noodles.

Lu Liangting had previously worked there as well.

He understood the situation.

That was why he had prepared this al today.

“Ah, thank you.”

Zhao Mingyue accepted it happily.

“Oh right, you do not work there anymore. Why are you still taking this route?”

“It is on the way. I also want to visit Sunshine Apartnts again.”

“I want to see her one more ti.”

Lu Liangting spoke frankly and smiled slightly.

“You really are persistent…”

Lu Liangting simply smiled and said nothing.

Neither he nor Zhao Mingyue noticed the pair of eyes watching them from behind.

Li Nan stood there with his hands in his pockets.

He crushed the love letter in his hand into a tight ball.

Behind him, a mass of black shadow slowly wriggled.
