The dishes were quickly served.
"Co on, eat up. Why are you all staring at ?" Sun Dasheng said, picking up his chopsticks and starting.
The other two only began after seeing him start.
"Hmm, this fish really is different from other places. It’s very fresh," Sun Dasheng comnted after taking a bite.
Fisherman’s Courtyard. It seems this isn’t just a gimmick; this place actually has so substance.
Zhao Gang smiled and said, "There’s only one trick to delicious fish: the ingredients must be fresh. The fish here is sourced directly from various fisheries and airlifted over the sa day. So what we’re eating was caught just this afternoon."
"I see!" Sun Dasheng nodded as he ate, heaping praise on the fish.
Zhao Gang poured a glass of wine and was about to stand up for a toast when a sudden commotion erupted outside.
"What’s going on? Da Yong, go take a look," Sun Dasheng frowned. Being disturbed during a al was never pleasant.
Da Yong quickly returned. "President Sun, the ones causing trouble outside are the sa three from the shooting range, the man and two won." Fearing President Sun might not rember them, he added, "Both of the girls are very pretty."
"Oh? What are they making a scene about?" Sun Dasheng asked coolly.
Da Yong scratched his head, unsure of their true intentions, and could only report the situation as he saw it. "They’re shouting that they want to co in and apologize to you, President Sun."
"The waiter won’t let them in, and that Little Chili is cursing people out."
Hearing Da Yong use that na, Sun Dasheng knew exactly who he was talking about.
"President Sun, what should we do?" Da Yong asked.
"Just send them away. To disturb President Sun’s al... they have no manners or breeding," Zhao Gang suggested. He was worried this incident would sour Sun Dasheng’s mood and affect his attempt to secure investnt.
"President Sun, I’ll go send them away!" he said, preparing to leave.
But Sun Dasheng stopped him. He found the situation rather amusing.
"Let them in."
"Huh? President Sun, you really want to let them in?" Da Yong asked again.
"President Sun, these people are rude. Don’t let them spoil your good mood," Zhao Gang chid in.
"Alright, I appreciate your concern, but am I that fragile? Still, you have a point, and I can’t just ignore it. Tell the two girls to co in. As for the man, forget it. Let him wait outside."
Hearing President Sun’s decision, Da Yong left to carry out his orders.
Zhao Gang also relented and sat back down.
Following behind Da Yong’s towering figure, two relatively ’petite’ won entered in single file.
"President Sun, I’ve brought them," Da Yong reported, giving Zhao Gang a aningful look.
Being a perceptive man, Zhao Gang looked at the two stunning beauties and felt a pang of regret. How had he not reacted faster than that big oaf?
Zhao Gang quickly stood up. "President Sun, I just rembered I have a friend outside. I’m going to go have a few toasts with him. I’ll be back shortly."
"Oh, is that so? Then go ahead. It’s pitch-black out there, so have Da Yong go with you. He’s more familiar with this place," Sun Dasheng said matter-of-factly.
"Yes! Of course, President Sun." Although I don’t know why he says I’m familiar with this place, since he said so, I’ll have to beco familiar, whether I am or not.
The two went outside and saw Li Feng standing there, perfectly calm and composed.
Zhao Gang offered him a cigarette. "Don’t worry, they’re fine inside. We ca out because it was crowded with us n in there, and we were worried it might be uncomfortable for the girls. There’s only one person with them now, so you don’t have to worry."
"Once they’ve apologized, this whole thing will be over."
"But an apology can’t be just words; it’ll require a few drinks. That will take so ti, so just relax."
After offering his ’kind’ advice, and to reassure him further, Zhao Gang slung an arm over Da Yong’s shoulder and started to walk away.
Da Yong glanced back and whispered, "Why did you say all that?"
"Heh... it’s obvious your President Sun has taken an interest in those two girls. I was just buying him so ti."
"Oh, heh heh..." Da Yong finally understood.
"Hey!" Zhao Gang smacked him, still annoyed that Da Yong had been quicker on the uptake. "How did you react faster than back there? You were the one who gave the signal first."
Da Yong scratched the back of his head and grinned innocently without saying a word.
Do I even need to say it? Whenever President Sun is left alone with won, aren’t I always the first one to find an excuse to slip away? If you had to deal with this situation as often as I do, you’d react just as fast.
Da Yong’s simple-minded grin, however, caused Zhao Gang to misunderstand. He mistakenly thought his companion was a case of great wisdom masquerading as foolishness.
「Inside the private room.」
Sun Dasheng watched the two motionless won and lit a cigarette. "Are you planning to just stand there all night as your apology?"
He blew a ring of smoke. "If this is your apologetic attitude, then I’m sorry, I don’t accept it. Please leave."
"No!" Li Wenwen blurted out anxiously.
"Wen Wen, be quiet. I’ll handle this," Xie Moyao said, grabbing her sleeve.
Dressed in a long, snow-white gown, Xie Moyao approached with graceful, lotus-like steps. Before she was even close, Sun Dasheng could sense the aura of a noble lady from ancient tis.
Quite interesting.
She extended a delicate, pale hand, picked up the bottle of Moutai from the table, and filled a glass to the brim. Holding the glass in one hand while supporting her wrist with the other, she perford a graceful curtsy.
"This drink is for you, sir. What happened earlier was our fault. We hope you won’t hold it against us. Please forgive us."
After speaking, she looked at him with luminous eyes.
"Please," Sun Dasheng gestured.
Xie Moyao raised the glass to her lips with one hand, shielding it with the other, and tilted her head back, downing the contents. She then presented the empty glass. She had drained it in a single gulp.
"What a drinker!" Sun Dasheng clapped in approval.
He didn’t deliberately lower his voice, so Li Feng, who was standing outside, heard everything. He sighed in relief. This was a good sign; it ant they were safe inside and the other party didn’t intend to harm them. All they had to do was offer a toast and an apology.
After three consecutive glasses, a rosy flush blood on Xie Moyao’s cheeks, and she was starting to sway on her feet. She looked at the man sitting at the table, but he remained completely unmoved. With no other choice, she could only look toward Li Wenwen.
"Drink, then! I’m not afraid," Li Wenwen, fiery by nature, was never one to back down from a challenge.
After all, she had started this ss, and her sister-in-law had stepped up to protect her. Now that the man was still not satisfied, if she didn’t step forward, she would despise herself. She followed her sister-in-law’s example and downed three glasses in a row, ignoring her sister-in-law’s attempts to stop her.
After finishing the third glass, she slid right under the table.
Xie Moyao pressed a hand to her forehead. "Silly girl, I was trying to tell you this liquor is much stronger than what we drink at ho. Why were you in such a hurry? Now you’re drunk," she said, moving to help her up.
"Your apology isn’t over yet. Are you leaving already? Giving up halfway through?"
Xie Moyao looked at him in disbelief. Isn’t this enough?
But the man was unfazed, still sipping his drink leisurely.
Are his eyes... staring at my chest?
Blushing, Xie Moyao covered her chest and stamred, "Impossible."
"Suit yourself. I would never force you to do anything," the man’s cold voice reached her ears, and her blushing face turned a shade paler.
She looked down at her unconscious sister-in-law, then back up at the handso demon. Her thoughts were in chaos.
She had to admit, this man was completely her type. She could bring herself to go through with it. But... she had a boyfriend. And he was right outside.
Yet, if she refused and just left, not only would it all be for nothing, but when they got back, her sister-obsessed brother would surely not bla his sister for ssing things up. Instead, he would pin all the bla on her. She had been through this kind of thing more than once. In her heart, she’d long harbored grievances against her boyfriend.
She didn’t even realize that a demon seed to be whispering to another version of herself in her mind. Go on, do it! It’ll be fine!
"If you’re unwilling, then forget it. You can leave."
That sentence was the last straw.
"I... I’m willing!"
As soon as Xie Moyao uttered those words, she squeezed her eyes shut. A mont later, she felt her body go light as soone scooped her into their arms, and her clothes began to co undone, one piece at a ti.
"Wait... be gentle!"
