After listening, Yang Xintian nodded thoughtfully. "I see. Don’t worry, I’ve got this."
Seeing her friend’s confident promise, however, Xiang Zixuan didn’t look particularly happy. The assurance had co too easily, which usually ant it was just a perfunctory gesture.
Yang Xintian knew she might have co on a bit strong, but she was sure of herself and wasn’t worried about her friend’s skepticism. So, she took out her phone and called soone right then and there.
The call connected.
"Is that you, Tian Tian? What’s up?"
For the sake of Yang Xintian, the great matchmaker who had introduced him to the wonderful Wang Manman, Sun Dasheng was willing to be friendly.
"Uncle Sun, there’s sothing I’d like to discuss with you in person. Do you have ti?" Yang Xintian got straight to the point.
"When?"
"How about seven o’clock tonight?"
"Alright. I’ll be off work by then and should be free."
The other party had agreed readily.
After hanging up, Yang Xintian proudly dangled her phone in front of Xiang Zixuan, as if to say, *See? I told you I could handle it.*
Only then did Xiang Zixuan’s face light up. She cupped Yang Xintian’s cheeks and gave her a kiss.
"Tian Tian, thank you."
Yang Xintian froze, dazed. She sat alone in the cold wind for a long ti. By the ti she ca to her senses, Xiang Zixuan was gone.
"Where’s my wife?"
A heart-wrenching scream from Yang Xintian echoed across the playground, causing the couples strolling on the track to turn and stare.
"Did I hear that right? Did she just say ’wife’?"
"Are the lesbians at our school all this audacious now?"
"What a sha. Such a beautiful girl, and she likes won..."
「Evening. A small restaurant near the school.」
The location was Yang Xintian’s choice. Xiang Zixuan had originally suggested a nicer restaurant, but Yang Xintian flatly refused.
"Are we richer than Uncle Sun? He eats all sorts of delicacies day in and day out. If we give him so ho-style cooking, he might even like it more."
Her strange logic actually made so sense. The place happened to be an authentic Hunan cuisine restaurant, and truth be told, Sun Dasheng genuinely enjoyed it, especially the stir-fried pork with hot peppers. It was definitely better than what you’d get in a five-star hotel.
"So, what did you want to see about?" Sun Dasheng asked, putting down his bowl and chopsticks. He was completely full. If nothing else, Hunan cuisine was incredibly appetizing.
"Let Zi Xuan tell you. She’s the one who needs your help this ti," Yang Xintian said, nudging Xiang Zixuan and passing the baton to her.
Sun Dasheng looked at Yang Xintian with an amused expression.
"Is there sothing on my face?" she asked, surprised. That evening, she wore her usual smoky makeup and dreadlocks, projecting the air of a girl boss.
"Tell , Yang Xintian, are you so kind of professional fixer now? Addicted to settling problems for others?"
Yang Xintian’s face flushed, though her heavy makeup concealed it. She slapped her small hand on the table. "Uncle Sun, just say whether you’ll help or not!"
Oh? Slamming the table in front of ?
His response was a slam on the table several tis louder, making her ears ring.
"Now you know what a real table slam is. What you just did was swatting a fly, at best," Sun Dasheng chided.
Yang Xintian imdiately wilted.
The owner rushed over, thinking there was a problem.
Sun Dasheng spoke apologetically, "Just disciplining a junior in the family. Sorry about that. I didn’t scare any of your custors, did I? If so, I’m willing to compensate."
"No, it’s fine, it’s fine! The students have all eaten by now, so the restaurant is pretty empty," the owner said, glancing at the three of them. They looked like a guardian with two younger relatives who had probably just had a small argunt. He had a kid the sa age at ho; he understood completely.
"Kids this age are in their rebellious phase. We as parents just have to be more patient."
The owner was quite warm-hearted. Seeing this, Sun Dasheng then ordered a few after-dinner desserts. The owner smiled and went back to his work.
"Uncle Sun, Tian Tian, please stop fighting," Xiang Zixuan belatedly intervened.
Her reactions were a beat slower than a normal person’s. Cluelessly cute? And so pure. No wonder Yang Xintian fell for her at first sight. This girl really is sothing else.
That Xiang Yunsheng might not be much of a person, but you have to admit his genes are excellent. Both of his daughters are absolute stunners.
Sun Dasheng’s tone softened. "Don’t mind Tian Tian. Zi Xuan, you tell , why did you want to see Uncle Sun today?"
Xiang Zixuan glanced at Yang Xintian, who had turned her head away, then at Sun Dasheng’s gentle smile. Finally, she mustered the courage to speak.
"Uncle Sun, I know you and my dad have a lot of bad history, but he’s in a terrible state now. He’s suffered the punishnt he deserves. Could you please show so rcy and let him off the hook?"
If she had said this before, Sun Dasheng would have turned and left without a second word. Let Xiang Yunsheng off? Hah! Impossible. But now... well, his anger had mostly faded. There was no need to push soone completely to the brink. At most, he would just have Xiang Yunsheng compensate him with another daughter.
Seeing her pitiful expression, Sun Dasheng reached out his hand.
Her mind scread to dodge, but her body didn’t seem to get the ssage. She let him caress her cheek. By the ti her body finally reacted to move away, he had already withdrawn his hand.
In an instant, her cheeks turned bright red. "Uncle Sun, you..."
Before she could finish, soone else was even more anxious. Like a mother hen protecting her chick, Yang Xintian moved to shield Xiang Zixuan behind her.
"Uncle Sun, how could you do that?"
"Oh? What have I done?" Sun Dasheng asked with an air of casual indifference.
Yang Xintian’s lips quivered with fury. That’s my wife. Only I get to touch her, nobody else.
