The class ended hours later and everyone began to head back to the hostels. But unlike them, Alex did not return to the hostel imdiately. While they headed to the hostel, he made his way toward the Dean’s office.
On getting there, he knocked on the door and opened it even before getting permission to go in.
"What is it, Griffin?" The Dean seeing him asked and pushed the book he was reading aside.
Alex walked inside and stood by the table, he faced the man and after staring at him for a while, he began.
"I believe you are pretty much aware of the bully going on in this school, isn’t that right?" He asked the old man.
"What is it? Go straight to the point!" The Dean replied to him, pretending not to understand what Alex was talking about.
Alex knew for sure what the Dean was thinking, so he sighed and stood straight. "Make a choice now, one student or the entire school?" He asked him.
"What are you talking about?" The Dean asked him.
"Dante Kvock, you know him, right?" Alex asked him.
"Yes, he is your classmate," the Dean replied.
"Good. It’s good that you know him," Alex said.
"Say what you want to say or leave!" The Dean grunted angrily.
"If you don’t want your entire school to be covered in blood, warn him to stay out of my way. I am petty and paying back is what I love the most, this is for your good and the good of your students," Alex said to him and turned to leave.
"Is that a threat?" The Dean asked him, causing him to halt on his steps. "You are not the first to be bullied and will not be the last! If you can’t fight for yourself then be prepared to die here!" He yelled.
Alex, finally hearing what he wanted to hear since he began to talk laughed for a while and then stopped. "Okay," he mumbled and left the office with his bag. After he left, the Dean slamd his fist on the table and let out a grunt, Alex was opportune to have overheard him so he scoffed and left. He soon arrived at the hostel but it then occurred to him that he was yet to be given a room.
Realizing that he could have asked the Dean about it but didn’t, he face-pald himself and sighed.
"Hey, are you Griffin?" He heard soone ask from the side and when he looked, he saw a student.
"I am, any problem?" He asked the student.
"I was asked to take you to your dorm," the boy replied. He had blue eyes but they were looking dead and silver hair that was neatly tied up in a ponytail, he was the sa height as Alex but he looked very skinny and one would think he would be carried away if a breeze blew on him.
Alex gazed at him and then at his blue ID. ’Class 1A’ he thought to himself while still staring at him.
"Are you coming or not?" He heard the boy ask him before he turned around and began to head upstairs. As they went up, he kept staring at the boy’s back until they arrived at the room. The boy opened the door and went in and Alex followed him.
"This is your room, you are my roommate," the boy announced to him.
"Where are my things?" Alex asked him.
"Over there!" The boy replied, pointing at the bed that was opposite him.
There were two beds in the room, not just the bed but there double sets of everything in the room except the bathroom.
"That’s your bed, table, wardrobe... In brief, that’s your corner and this is mine," the boy said to Alex.
Alex nodded and walked to his corner, he checked the stuff on the bed and saw so writing materials and then his school uniforms.
"If you are interested in the dinner, it’ll be ready in fifteen minutes," the boy said and turned to leave.
"Zeke Ryder, is that?" Alex asked him and he abruptly stopped in his tracks. Turned around, and gazed at Alex before replying.
"How do you know my na?" He asked.
"Just wanted to be sure," Alex mumbled and continued what he was doing. He was aware that the boy was still staring at him but he did not say anything to him again and went into the bathroom to take his bath after five days of long journey. It took him a while but thankfully, it didn’t take him forever to be done and co out of the bathroom. And when he ca out, the boy was still in the sa spot as before, it was likely that he was waiting for him but even when he saw him, he didn’t speak a word to him.
Alex ignored the boy and began to wear his favorite clothes — a white polo and black pants. And after he was done, he turned to face the boy.
"What do you want?" He asked him.
"Tell how you know my na," Zeke requested, he had a serious look on his face as he spoke.
"I don’t owe you any explanation, or am I wrong?" Alex asked him.
"I don’t care if you do or not! It’s my personal information so how the hell did you know my na?" Zeke asked him, getting angry. "If you don’t tell , I’ll likely use force on you," he added.
"Like hell, I’d let you do however you want," Alex replied and made to walk past him. The boy turned and attempted to touch him but he quickly moved aside. "You have the ability to copy anyone’s ability with just one touch. I’m also aware of that," Alex said to him and smirked.
The boy was taken aback when he heard what Alex said. ’How did he know?’ He thought to himself while trying to hide the surprised look on his face.
"Don’t think I’ll let you touch with your filthy hands and even if you do, there is no guarantee that you will be able to copy my ability," Alex stated as a matter of fact and then left the room. Before Zeke could co back to his senses, he was already gone.
Alex soon found his way to the dining which was at the back of the hostels, he saw so students heading to the place so he just tagged along and then saw himself at the front of the large long hall. Going inside, he saw the other students standing in a long line so he joined and waited for his turn. While he was waiting, he saw Zeke walk in and abruptly began to wave at him.
Zeke had tried to ignore him but seeing where he was going to stand and where Alex was standing, he swallowed his pride and walked up to his side.
"Stand at my front," Alex said to him and when he was about to stand in the line, a student ca and blocked him.
"You can’t go in, don’t you know the rules?" The boy asked him.
"What rules?" Zeke asked the boy.
"First co first serve," the boy replied and folded his hands. "You were late, go stand at the last line!" He instructed him.
Alex glanced at the boy and saw that he was still in his uniform, but it was different from the one Zeke was wearing.
"Is he a senior?" He asked Zeke, not trying to hide or lower his voice.
"Uhm," Zeke replied. He had a straight face which was difficult for anyone to know how he was feeling but one glance at him and Alex could tell that he was already angry.
’Seems to that he’s got a short temper like ’ he thought as he continued to gaze at him.
"What are you looking at?" Zeke turned and asked him.
"I’m not the cause of your anger so watch it!" Alex replied and Zeke frowned and looked away.
Soon, the next person’s turn reached and the line moved again, a space was created between Alex and the person in front so he signaled for Zeke to stand in that space but the senior adamantly refused.
"New kid, don’t go against the rules or you will be punished!" He said to Alex.
"I am not scared of the punishnts, you can’t use it to threaten ," Alex replied to the senior who began to frown imdiately. "In case you don’t know, before I joined the line, I saw so seniors asking their mate to join in the line ahead of them, what? Aren’t they also under the sa rule?" He asked him.
"You—"
"Mind your business so you won’t regret it!" Alex warned and pulled Zeke into the line.
The senior wanted to say sothing but then he saw other students doing the sa thing again and he swallowed his words and stord away. After he left, Alex sighed.
"Why did you help ?" Zeke suddenly asked
" I noticed he had been staring at since I walked in so I thought of how to bring him close and study him," Alex replied.
"So... You had no intention of helping ?" Zeke asked him, a bit of disappointnt in his voice.
"Why should I help you?" Alex asked and just then, it got to Zeke’s turn but instead of letting him go, Alex walked past him and stood at the front. "I only used you,’ he mumbled to him.
