Of course, Edith didn’t want to leave her daughter alone in the penthouse, especially at night. She still wondered who the "master" was that the man leading her into the luxurious mansion was referring to. How could he have found her address when she had never told anyone except her daughter’s nanny and Cliff? Could he be trusted?

As she stepped into the living room of this luxurious residence, her eyes widened at the sight of a boy who resembled her daughter. Was this the boy her daughter had been referring to earlier?

"You’re finally here." A handso young man slowly descended the stairs, gazing at his special guest with sparkling eyes. It was Callum, Edith’s long-sought-after ex-boyfriend.

Edith stared nervously at the hoowner. Although she had been captivated by his handso face, she couldn’t rember who he was. Was it soone she knew very well? And who was the boy playing in the living room? Was it her real son?

"Who are you? Why did you suddenly want to see ? How did you know my residential address?" Edith asked nervously.

Callum felt his chest tighten as he heard that his ex-girlfriend truly didn’t rember him at all. Five years ago, their relationship had been very intimate, and they had grown fond of each other over ti. However, he tried to remain strong so his ex wouldn’t suspect him of being a bad person. He had planned sothing from the start to protect her from harm.

"Actually, I’m in need of a nanny for my son. I heard my son is now good friends with your daughter."

Edith folded her arms, glaring at the young stranger with a smirk in her eyes. "Why did you choose ? Can’t your wife take care of your own child? Or are you divorced?"

"My wife disappeared when my son was a baby. Is that enough to answer your question?" Callum answered in a firm tone.

"Still, I can’t trust you right away. You haven’t revealed your identity."

"I’m Callum. Erdin’s father, and the owner of the King Hotel."

Edith furrowed her brows. For so reason, the na sounded familiar. However, she hadn’t seen this handso man in the past five years. Was Callum really her ex-boyfriend? After all, Callum had claid his wife disappeared five years ago.

"I’m Edith. Eliana’s mother. Nice to et you, Callum," Edith said with a nervous smile.

"I know who you really are. No need to say your na, I already know."

"Did you hear about my boutique from the news article?"

Callum nodded. "I’m intrigued by all your nswear designs. I want you to make a VIP client. Every ti I attend an important event, you have to design the best, highest-quality outfit for ."

"So, my job now is to be your babysitter and your designer?"

"Do you mind?"

Edith laughed awkwardly as she stared at her daughter playing with her new friend. "I still don’t understand your point. Why should I be your son’s nanny? If I were a designer, I could do it because that’s my main job."

His gaze grew even more intense as he stared at his ex-girlfriend, whose attitude hadn’t changed since then. He rembered when they first started dating, her stubbornness, which only made him fall in love even more. Because that stubbornness was so adorable in his eyes.

"I will pay you a lot, do you still want to do it?"

Edith raised her head haughtily. "Do I look like a cheap woman to you?"

"No. But, when it cos to being a nanny, you can be relied on because you look professional whenever you do important work."

"How did you know? Did we actually know each other before? Why were you talking to so casually even though we’ve never t before?"

"You’ll find out soday. I won’t tell you everything now."

Edith stared for a mont at the boy playing with his daughter’s toy cars. It was the first ti she’d ever seen her daughter so easily bond with another child. Was this the instinct of twins? Every ti she looked at the boy, her eyes began to well up with tears. Furthermore, every ti she saw this handso young man’s face, her heart raced. Had her decision to beco a VIP nanny and designer been the right one?

"Okay, I’ll be your son’s babysitter. It seems like my daughter is comfortable with your son too. I don’t want my daughter to be alone at ho."

A beaming smile lit up his handso face. This gave him even more hope that their relationship could be rekindled, though he still faced many challenges to protect his ex-girlfriend. He deliberately pretended to be a stranger, as he had been planning sothing from the start to catch the criminal who had tried to kill them five years ago.

"It was a pleasure working with you, Callum." Edith shook hands with Callum. She was actually getting impatient to investigate his background, as for so reason, this atmosphere felt familiar.

"Starting tomorrow, I’ll also pick your daughter up from school. We’ll take turns."

"But, aren’t you busy? I can pick up your son in your stead."

"It’s okay. I’m so grateful that there are kind people who want to care for my son."

Edith looked away nervously, clenching her fists. "Don’t get wrong. I did it for Eliana. I actually already have a boyfriend."

Callum swallowed nervously. He could only hope that Edith wouldn’t go back to Cliff. The jerk who cheated on her five years ago. Callum still hated Cliff to this day. Therefore, he wanted to warn Edith about Cliff, that he wasn’t a good person.

"Does your daughter agree with you dating another man?"

Her brow furrowed. "What?"

"I’m sure your daughter feels uncomfortable seeing you dating another man. Especially if that man isn’t your daughter’s biological father."

"Who are you? You’re nothing to . You’re just my daughter’s friend’s father. You have no right to control my life."

"Edith, won’t you regret saying those words?" Callum held his ex-girlfriend’s hand. "You’ll soon find out the truth."
