Initially, Edith began to like Callum and wanted to forget the DNA test results that had made her doubtful, but now her heart wavered again after witnessing a forbidden scene that made her body heat up. She was very disappointed that Callum allowed another woman to sit on his lap, even though Callum had always confidently said that he had never let another woman touch him.
anwhile, Callum was also surprised by Edith’s sudden arrival. He was especially worried that Edith would be shocked by eting Arabella, the snake woman Cliff was having an affair with. If Edith’s mories fully returned, what would happen to the two won?
"It seems I ca at the wrong ti." Edith turned around in annoyance.
"Wait!" Callum shouted, pushing Arabella almost to the ground before running to his special guest. "You ca at just the right ti."
Arabella laughed sarcastically as she watched the couple, once separated, reunited. She had hated Edith for so long. However, looking at Edith’s face, it seed as if she didn’t recognize her. Could it be that Edith had amnesia due to an accident?
"Looks like you have a girlfriend now, Callum. I’m like a third wheel trying to separate you two," Arabella snapped, smirking at her still-innocent enemy.
Edith quickly released her lover’s hand. "It’s okay. It’s all my fault for not making an appointnt first. I should have made an appointnt with your assistant first."
"Don’t say things like that, Edith! You don’t need to bother making promises."
Her right hand clenched tightly as she witnessed Callum’s overly lenient attitude toward his ex-girlfriend. "You’re showing favoritism, Callum. You yelled at earlier because I didn’t make a promise first."
"Because you always visit for personal reasons! I really dislike all visitors who disturb my work."
"Then, what about that woman?! Didn’t she co to you to seduce you too?!"
"Watch your words, Arabella!"
Arabella was shocked to hear Callum yell at her after so long, just because of a woman. She harbored a growing resentnt toward Edith for stealing Callum and Cliff from her. Now, no man supported her. Cliff planned to marry Edith, while Callum was still fighting to win her heart. These two n were truly foolish, blinded by love.
"Callum, how dare you yell at !"
"You better get out of here. I still have business with Edith."
"But-"
"Didn’t you hear ? Get out of here!!"
Arabella stomped her feet in annoyance and walked out of the room slamming the door.
Callum finally breathed a sigh of relief after his girlfriend arrived. He imdiately sat down on the sofa weakly, stretching his legs. He was nervous, afraid his girlfriend would misunderstand him for witnessing the forbidden scene. Was she still angry with him? Especially since her face was still nervous and filled with guilt.
"Don’t get wrong, Edith! I was actually—"
"Actually, I ca at the wrong ti. I know that woman is the one you wanted to marry, right?"
Callum widened his eyes, not expecting Edith to guess so accurately. Could it be that his mory had returned?
"Why do you assu that woman is my future wife?"
"I just saw that she looks sexier than , and you let her touch you. Besides, you seem more compatible with her."
"No! You’re wrong! That woman is so unattractive to ! I’m not going to marry her!" His strong arms wrapped tightly around his lover. "If I liked that woman, I would have asked her to accompany to the dance. I’ve hated her for so long."
Edith looked down shyly, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "That’s what it looks like."
"Were you jealous just now?" A mischievous smile appeared on his handso face.
"What? Why would I be jealous? If that woman was ant to be matched with you, there’s nothing I can do about it."
"Even if you’re still embarrassed, I don’t mind. As long as you’re mine. I don’t want to marry another woman."
"But the DNA test results show that you’re not the father of my twins. And you still haven’t told how you raised Erdin for five years."
"I’ll tell you everything when the ti is right. I don’t want to reopen the wounds of your past."
Although simple, it had already lted her heart. She admitted she couldn’t hate Callum in any way. The more possessive he beca, the harder it was for her to let go. Moreover, the affectionate embrace he was giving her now made her want to be spoiled even more.
"By the way, you seem to really hate people who co up to you without an appointnt. Next ti I—"
"No need to make an appointnt. You can just co to ." His eyes sparkled as he stared at his lover’s shy smile. "Because you’re so special."
"Really? You won’t scold ?"
"Of course. I was really looking forward to it. I wanted you to accompany ."
Edith wrapped her arms around his broad back nervously. "Callum, if I let you down one day, will you hate ?"
"It’s more likely that I’ll make you love more as ti goes by. If you don’t care about , why did you co to all of a sudden?"
Edith released the hug for a mont and looked away. "Because I wanted to discuss what we’re going to wear to the ball."
"We could have discussed it at ho. Besides, who are you leaving the twins with?"
"They’re being looked after by my assistant for the ti being. You don’t need to worry. My assistant is good at keeping secrets and she loves kids."
Callum embraced his lover again enthusiastically, their bodies now lying on the sofa. Edith was terrified of soone else suddenly entering the room. However, she was also so comfortable cuddling with Callum right now, her cheeks flushed even redder.
"Seeing you so enthusiastic about attending the dance party with , I can’t wait to dance with you later."
"But what about that woman? Will she be mad at for stealing you from her?"
