Callum was still hesitant to tell Edith the truth because he was worried that her ntal state would beco unstable if she learned that Cliff was a bad person. Furthermore, Edith had told him that Cliff was the first person to appear to her when she regained consciousness. Furthermore, Cliff had been the one who had helped her so much. Would Edith accept this truth?
"Edith, how important is it for you to know that fact?"
"So, you really are hiding sothing from ?"
Callum gripped her tiny hand tightly. "How about we talk about this sowhere else? Don’t let the kids hear."
Edith followed Callum into the master bedroom. Her eyes sparkled as she took in the luxerious room, filled with awards displayed on shelves. However, she was actually curious. Why was she being asked to talk in Callum’s room? Why not just in the backyard? Was Callum planning to do sothing he shouldn’t show children?
"Edith, you are the first woman I have ever asked into my room just to talk."
Her cheeks grew hotter hearing that fact. "Actually, I only wanted to ask you one question. But why did you have to invite to your room to talk?"
"Because it’s quite a long story. It’s ti I told you everything." A weak sigh escaped his lips. "Since you have amnesia, I’m forced to tell the story. But I’m afraid you won’t be ready to hear it."
"So, you and Cliff are really related?"
"Yes, I am Cliff’s half-brother. I know Cliff wouldn’t tell you this."
Although Edith was shocked to hear this fact, for so reason she didn’t feel hurt even though Cliff had deceived her. Edith didn’t want to be deceived by Cliff because he had amnesia. Now she was starting to suspect Cliff. Was Cliff really the main mastermind who caused the accident five years ago? If Cliff wasn’t the culprit, why was he the first person to appear when she regained consciousness?
Edith smiled softly, gently stroking Callum’s head. She was very satisfied to hear this fact directly from Callum. "Thank you for telling this."
Callum widened his eyes, not expecting Edith to take this matter too seriously. He’d been extrely worried that Edith’s ntal state would beco unstable again. Was Edith’s lack of overreaction because she’d had a feeling from the start that Cliff wasn’t a good person?
"You’re not scolding ?"
"Why would I scold you? I know you’re hiding it from so I won’t be shocked. Especially since I’ve always seed quite close to Cliff."
"If you dare say such things, then fine, I’ll tell you the truth. Cliff is my half-brother. More likely, I’ve always been called an illegitimate child because my mother gave birth to out of wedlock. Then, my mother suddenly died when I was three years old."
Her eyebrows lowered after hearing Callum’s tragic story. All she knew was that Callum was a handso and perfect CEO idolized by every woman in the world. She never imagined that behind that perfection, Callum’s life wasn’t as idyllic as won imagined.
"Your stepmother has been really too much to respect you all this ti!"
"It’s okay. I’ve been used to it my whole life."
"But, are you angry that your child was born out of wedlock?"
"No. I actually consider the birth of Erdin and Eliana a miracle in my life. I never considered my children illegitimate. I’m so happy to have adorable twins." His eyes sparkled at the beauty of his ex-girlfriend. "I’m also so happy to have a woman who loves sincerely."
Edith smiled shyly as Callum touched her chin. Indirectly, Callum seed to be expressing his sincere love for her. Unlike Cliff, who had always been sweet to her, but she never felt anything from him.
"Callum, there’s sothing I want to tell you. It’s the first ti I’ve said this to anyone, too."
"What is it?"
"I really like people who tell the truth."
Callum hugged his ex-girlfriend’s curvy body tightly. "I really didn’t want to lie to you because I couldn’t bear to see you being deceived by everyone. You’ve been played by everyone all this ti, and I’m so sick of seeing you being bullied, even though you’re a good person."
"But, how did you know I was being oppressed all this ti?"
"Even before the accident, you were always bullied even though you were a famous designer."
"Now I understand why you look possessive in my eyes."
His right eyebrow raised. "Am I possessive? I’ve been acting perfectly normal all this ti."
"You even recruited as a secret nanny. I can see it; you’re very possessive. If Cliff proposed to right now, what would you do?"
"Of course I will still take you from him."
Edith blinked nervously. It was safe to conclude that Callum was indeed her husband who disappeared five years ago. But how could they be separated when they were both involved in the accident? Should she ask Callum this crucial question? Because the only key to uncovering the truth was to have an eyewitness speak for her.
"Callum, is it true that we were engaged?"
Callum pressed his lips together tightly. If he hadn’t let it slip, he wouldn’t have had to delve deeper into their accident. He didn’t want to reopen the wounds of his girlfriend’s past. He preferred his current life, which was already quite happy thanks to Edith’s presence. However, for so reason, he felt like all of this was going to go wrong.
"Edith, why are you so curious about our past relationship? What if it wasn’t as beautiful as you imagined?"
"Actually, I’ve known it from the start. When I first saw you, I knew you were my missing husband."
Callum couldn’t hold back the tears of joy that threatened to burst out. "But why have you always treated like a stranger?"
"Because I was actually hesitant. But as ti went by and I spent ti with you, I beca more and more comfortable with you."
This ti, Callum didn’t want to hold back any longer. He kissed his lover deeply on the lips, gently touching her cheek.
