Edith swallowed nervously and placed her phone weakly on the table. She stared at her assistant for a mont, her face pale. This was the first ti she’d encountered a situation like this, and her head ached. She looked around in a daze, reaching for a glass of water to calm her nerves. While she’d hoped nothing more would happen to her now, a new one had just appeared.
"Edith, what’s wrong with you?"
"The Unity One agency suddenly canceled the collaboration contract."
"What?! The fashion show is this week! Why would they suddenly want to cancel the contract?"
Edith shook her head weakly, running a hand through her hair. "I have to go to them now. They didn’t really explain this clearly earlier."
"I will accompany you now."
"No need. You have to pick up the kids soon. I don’t want to ask Callum to pick them up because he’s busy."
"Okay, if you need any help, just contact ."
Of course, Edith couldn’t accept that this situation had to happen on such an important day. She had been looking forward to the sumr fashion show she had designed for months. Now, suddenly, the agency she had just partnered with had canceled the contract, sending her into a rage. Has she been tricked all this ti? Was there a hidden agenda by the agency, perhaps one that wanted to ruin her reputation?
Edith imdiately visited the agency building. She didn’t act rashly either. First, she took a deep breath and then exhaled slowly to regulate her increasingly unstable breathing. Second, she knocked softly on the door until she heard soone let her in.
Edith was invited into the agency director’s office. She bowed her head for a mont, then sat down on the sofa next to the director.
"Edith, what brings you to visit suddenly?"
"Sarah, is it true that you want to cancel the contract with ?"
Sarah snapped her fingers as she straightened her legs. "So my assistant already told you. She really works fast."
"If I may ask, why? Even though a fashion show will be held soon this week."
"I’m sorry, Edith. My models were actually unable to perform in the fashion show. Since I couldn’t prevent them, I was forced to cancel our contract. I’m willing to pay you a fine."
Edith gently massaged her temples. "It’s not that I need the funds. But this big event wouldn’t be possible without the models from your agency."
"Instead of you continuing to complain here, I suggest you look for another agency that wants to help you."
Now Edith wasn’t going to be polite to anyone who suddenly betrayed her. She imdiately got up from the sofa and glared at the agency director. "I wanted to maintain my professionalism, but I couldn’t because you betrayed so suddenly. If you ever co looking for again, I won’t be working with you!"
Edith returned to her office to hold an ergency eting with the creative team. She didn’t want anyone to ruin the plans she had made so long ago. She hadn’t ant to be cruel to her employees, but this ergency forced her to do so. Moreover, she had about a week to find models willing to perform in her fashion show.
After a eting with her team, she returned to her office with a beaming smile. She actually had to do it so her twins wouldn’t worry her. She welcod them with a warm hug.
"Mom!" Erdin and Eliana said in unison.
"You guys look really happy today. Did you have a good ti at school?"
"Actually, my classmates praised our dad’s cool appearance today in the video," said Erdin.
Eliana nodded. "They even want to et Dad in person."
"Then, do you allow them?"
"No," answered Erdin and Eliana simultaneously.
Edith laughed awkwardly as she stared at Renata, who looked listless. She knew Renata couldn’t hide her anxiety over the problems that had befallen the boutique today. She approached Renata for a mont, then walked to the corner of the wall so the twins wouldn’t overhear their conversation.
"Edith, what about what Sarah said earlier? Is it true that she doesn’t want to work with us?"
Edith nodded, looking at her twins eating donuts. "For now, my family shouldn’t know about the problems I’m facing right now."
"I understand that the twins shouldn’t hear about these problems, as they might be upset. But are you sure you don’t want to ask Callum for help?"
"I don’t an to be arrogant. But I don’t want to bother him anymore. He’s been a great help to . I want to solve my own problems now."
A heavy sigh escaped her lips. "Edith, if you can’t do it alone, I suggest you talk to Callum too. I don’t want to see you facing this alone."
"Callum is in a happy place now. I don’t want him dragged into my problems anymore. Seeing him smile so freely since his family was imprisoned makes so happy."
"Okay, I won’t stop you."
"Even though I didn’t tell him about this, I don’t want you to tell Patrick about it. He definitely won’t stay silent."
At the sa ti, Callum entered the room, surprising Edith, who was chatting with Renata. They imdiately stood apart, as if they had nothing to hide. Edith quickly tidied herself up and walked briskly to greet her fiancé.
"Callum, I thought you would be busy all day."
Callum smiled sweetly, gently stroking his fiancée’s head. "I don’t like long interviews. Since I still have plenty of ti, I’d like to have lunch with you now."
"Dad, you look so handso today." Erdin looked at his father in awe while giving him a thumbs up.
Callum laughed awkwardly at his son’s uncharacteristically over-the-top praise. "It’s so strange that you’re complinting all of a sudden."
"Because all our friends praised my father as very handso," added Eliana.
Callum stared at his fiancée’s face for a mont, which looked a little gloomy. Although she was smiling now, he knew it was fake.
