After Yvette beca both an eyewitness and the perpetrator of the horrific accident, she arranged a eting for both families at an oriental restaurant. She booked a VIP room so they could chat more freely. Since she was committing a cri, she naturally couldn’t display an overly confident expression. She kept her head lowered as she poured cups of tea for both families, except for Cliff, who was absent from the eting.
"Yvette, it’s unusual for you to invite us to et you. What’s up?" Diana asked with a friendly smile.
"I’m sorry, Auntie."
"Why do you have to apologize? Did you do sothing wrong?"
"Actually, this afternoon I killed Edith and her family."
Kevin coughed and choked, accidentally spitting out tea. He imdiately wiped his mouth with a handkerchief and glared at Yvette.
"What? You killed my son too?"
The mother massaged her aching temples. "Wait a minute! Since when have you been planning this cruel thing? Why didn’t we know about it?"
"I’m sorry. I’m indeed insane because I committed a cri. But Edith keeps getting in my way, and I don’t want to let her live."
"You still can’t do this, Yvette! If you get caught, what will happen to us?!" her father scolded, slamming the table roughly.
"But, hasn’t Dad ignored Edith all this ti? In fact, he doesn’t even want her to live."
"What are you saying?"
Yvette looked at Kevin and Diana with a sneer. "You guys also don’t seem to want to let Callum live because he’s the only illegitimate child in your family."
Diana leisurely sipped her herbal tea as she stared at Yvette. "What exactly is your purpose for calling us? Should we be thanking you for successfully killing my son?"
"Callum and his family are currently hospitalized. I’d like to separate them, actually. If they’re still alive, isn’t it ti to separate them? After all, they’re probably experiencing side effects from the accident."
The mother rested her chin on her hands, thinking hard until her brow furrowed. "So, you want Edith to be treated at another hospital?"
"Yes, because if we let them be treated in the sa hospital, Callum will definitely protect Edith. I don’t want them to get back together again."
"Then, which hospital will you treat her in?"
"I plan to put her in a remote hospital so Callum can’t find her. That’s why I need you to cooperate with . If Callum still rembers Edith, I want you to lie to him so he gives up looking for her."
"Then, what about the twins?" asked Diana.
"Of course I still have a conscience letting Edith take care of her daughter, while Callum can still take care of his son."
"If your criminal actions were actually discovered, what would you do?"
Yvette looked at Kevin with a sneer. "Don’t you know a police officer? I want you to have the police erase all traces of my cris."
"But, it seems like it will be difficult."
"Not if you pay them what they want. If they feel they haven’t been paid enough, you can ask for more money."
Kevin folded his arms. "If I may ask, why did you go to this length? Is it because you’re jealous of your stepsister?"
"You could say that. But aren’t you both equally unwilling to let Callum live and usurp Cliff’s position? If Callum continues to control the company, he could oust Cliff from his position as a board mber at King’s Group."
"Is this a threat, Yvette?"
"No, this is advice from for your sake."
"I didn’t expect you to have such a cruel mindset."

Hearing Yvette’s truth, Edith’s ntal state began to deteriorate. She stared around in a daze, clutching her tight chest. She hadn’t imagined Yvette harboring such a grudge against her that she’d planned this evil deed so long ago. She clenched her fists tightly and repeatedly pounded the table.
"You don’t deserve to be called human. You have no conscience!"
"If you hadn’t made jealous from the start, I wouldn’t have gone this far."
"If you’re so jealous of , why don’t you just tell ? I can give you anything you want. If you want money, I can give it to you. If you want my shares, I can give them to you. If you want out of your family, that’s fine with . But I can’t give Callum to you because he’s my most precious person."
"In fact, I don’t need anything from you, Edith. Just having you out of my life and letting have Callum is enough to satisfy ."
Edith glanced at the luxury watch on her left wrist as she rose from her chair. "Now I’m satisfied with the chronology. I hope you can cooperate with the police so your sentences can be reduced."
"Edith, I’m actually still curious about you. Why do you hate us so much?" her mother asked with a pleading face.
"I don’t want to answer your question because I’m sure you already know the answer. You’ve always controlled my life, and now I don’t want to be your puppet anymore."
"Edith! Watch your words!" Yvette snapped.
"Now I’m not afraid of you anymore. I have everything, and you have no right to control my life anymore."

anwhile, in another interrogation room, Callum continued to question his parents, who remained silent. Several minutes passed, and Callum still hadn’t received an answer from his stepfamily. He wasn’t the type to waste ti. Finally, he got up from his chair and turned around.
"I’m going ho now because my kids are waiting for at ho. I don’t want to waste my ti here."
"Sit down, Callum!" Kevin ordered firmly.
Callum smiled sarcastically as he turned his head. "You’re finally talking after I threatened you a bit earlier."
"Actually, there is still sothing I want to tell you so that you don’t misunderstand again."
"I don’t care what happens. What’s certain is that I can’t wait to see you locked up in prison for your selfishness!"
