Since it was already evening, Arabella invited Jas to dinner with her at her residence to share this important information. Although her relationship with Cliff had improved, she still didn’t want to forget her ex-boyfriend, who truly loved her. After having dinner with Cliff at a fancy restaurant, she wanted to spend more ti with him.

Jas was still awkward about setting foot in this luxurious apartnt, as he hadn’t visited in a long ti since their breakup. Now he mustered the courage to enter the apartnt, which held so many fond mories for him. He missed the tis when he and Arabella dated, even sleeping together.

"Jas, why are you so quiet?" Arabella handed her ex a bottle of wine. "I happen to have so leftovers for you."

"I haven’t been drinking wine for a while."

Arabella nodded as she picked up the wine bottle. "I just rembered, you drive too."

"That’s not really the reason. But, I don’t want you to drink non-alcoholic drinks alone."

"You don’t need to force yourself."

"It’s not fair to you if you’re the only one who can’t enjoy it."

As usual, those simple words made her heart race again. She felt even more guilty about sharing the good news because she didn’t want to hurt Jas’ feelings again. However, for the sake of the mission’s success, she was forced to hurt his feelings.

"I managed to make Cliff trust ."

"I knew you could do it," Jas smiled casually at his ex-girlfriend. "You’re really good at acting. You’d be perfect for a secret agent like ."

"But, would you be mad if I went back to him?"

"No. Why would I be angry? Besides, you wanted to go back to him for the sake of your mission."

"Actually, it was thanks to you that helped ."

Jas widened his eyes and pointed at himself with his index finger. "?"

"If you hadn’t helped and taught to act, I wouldn’t have succeeded in winning her heart."

"It really depends on you, Arabella. Whether you want to side with or go back to Cliff." Jas took an awkward sip of his water.

"I will side with you, Jas."

"Because I’m your friend?"

Arabella nodded, holding her ex’s hands, which were scarred from frequent fights during their ti as secret agents. She looked pityingly at her ex-boyfriend, who had always seed fine, but always hid his wounds with a smile. That was what always annoyed Arabella.

"I really like being your friend."

"By the way, since you managed to persuade him, I want you to go out with him more often."

"Actually, I wasn’t happy dating him. Plus, I was afraid he’d sleep with again."

"No way. You’re pregnant now. He’ll definitely behave himself."

"When I had dinner with him earlier, I had no appetite. I’m usually so enthusiastic, but now I feel so empty."

"Arabella, maybe because you were hurt by him, that’s why now you can’t consider him as your boyfriend anymore."

Arabella shook her head slowly. "Actually, I didn’t invite you here just to share the good news and celebrate with you. But I needed a friend to accompany to dinner."

Hearing her ex’s words made her smile even wider. "If you keep inviting to dinner with you, I’m afraid Cliff will beco even more suspicious of you."

"I told him the truth earlier. You and I have been communicating with each other all this ti."

"Then, did the expression on his face look disappointed because you knew his movents at that ti?"

"He was just a little surprised. Maybe he wants to accuse one day because I cheated on him."

"Even though he already knows I’ve t you, I will still protect you secretly all this ti."

"You look handso when you show your sincerity." Arabella took a mont to gaze around her apartnt, her eyes sparkling. "I rember all the sweet monts we shared back then. You often made ti to stay with before bed, even though you looked tired."

"Actually, at that ti I was worried that you would be angry just because I didn’t accompany you."

"I was more worried about you at that ti, because you were always pushing yourself. The scar on your hand is still visible today."

Jas grew increasingly nervous as they continued to discuss their past. He kept flipping his shirt collar as he toasted his ex.

"Anyway, today I am very proud of you because you managed to get Cliff caught in your trap."

A week later...

News of Cliff and Arabella’s relationship is heating up, as Arabella, as usual, relies on the dia to showcase their relationship. She does this intentionally to build Cliff’s trust. This way, he won’t suspect her of secretly cheating on him with another man.

Callum and Edith, who were reading the news, were also completely captivated, staring at Arabella, who was growing increasingly arrogant in their eyes. anwhile, Jas remained silent, silently praising his ex’s intelligence.

"Wow, as usual you always rely on the dia to highlight your love story!" Callum cheered, giving two thumbs up.

Arabella pushed a strand of hair behind her ear. "I was actually a little nervous about speaking to the dia because they were so disappointed in before."

"But, it seems like Cliff really does trust you completely. You and he seem very affectionate."

"Thank God, this way Arabella won’t be suspected anymore," Jas said flatly, making Arabella feel a little guilty for hurting her ex-lover’s feelings.

"Jas, actually I–"

"Just a little more, you can carry out your main mission."

drrrt...drrrt...

Arabella took her phone from her blazer pocket and answered her boyfriend’s call. She nodded and glanced at all her friends, signaling her.

"Cliff, have you arrived at the restaurant yet?"

"Sorry, I can’t have a romantic dinner with you today."

"Why is this happening all of a sudden?"

"I have a eting with a VIP client that lasts until late at night. I’m sorry I can’t join you for dinner tonight."

This is precisely what Arabella and Jas have been waiting for the most because a ti like this is the right ti to carry out a secret mission.
