Callum was able to enjoy a sowhat peaceful holiday with his family this ti, despite being interrupted by a couple of friends this morning. He was pleased to see his family smiling again after so long without being able to spend ti together. Although Callum had faced various major challenges, he had finally overco them. Now he could have a relaxing chat with his fiancée before bed or watch a romantic movie in his private cinema.

A beaming smile spread across his handso face as he gazed at his fiancée, who was so doting on him. He couldn’t even let go of her warm embrace, which made him want to fall asleep any faster.

"You’re as spoiled as when you were pregnant."

Edith raised her head slowly. "But, I’m not pregnant now."

"Actually, I don’t want to sleep today. I still want to go on a date with you."

"It seems like you’re the one who’s more spoiled than now."

"But I’m scared, Edith." Callum took a deep breath and lowered his head. "I’m scared of tomorrow and the days to co. What if sothing else happens to us?"

"Callum..."

"I don’t want all my problems to involve you. I’m so afraid you’ll leave again. Like the female lead in the drama we’re watching now."

Watching a couple break up in the romantic drama they were watching now made Edith feel even more guilty. She rembered how selfish she was to leave Callum suddenly before just because she was easily incited by the criminals who wanted to destroy their relationship. Both of her hands tightly gripped her fiancé’s hand.

"I won’t leave you again. Even if trouble strikes again, I won’t let you face it alone."

Finally, Callum returned his sweet smile, gently pinching the soft cheek in front of him. "I knew you wouldn’t betray ."

"Because I don’t want to see the children sad anymore just because of us."

"Actually, every ti you are by my side, I am reminded of myself."

Edith wrapped her arms around her fiancé’s neck, her eyes sparkling. "Is it because I’ve always been considered an illegitimate child?"

Callum nodded. "But it’s not because I feel sorry for you. I like you because you’ve always been there for ."

" too. Actually, I–"

drrrt...drrrt...

Hearing his phone vibrate on the table, Callum was forced to postpone his romantic mont with his fiancée. He rolled his eyes as he answered Jas’s call.

"Why did you call all of a sudden, Jas?" Callum asked coldly.

"Can I co to your house again tomorrow?"

"What’s wrong? Do you want to share your love story with Arabella?"

"More likely, Arabella and I were followed by soone."

"What?!" Her eyes widened as she stared at her fiancé.

"So, I want to ask you sothing."

"Okay, I’ll make ti tomorrow."

The call ended quickly. He let out a heavy sigh and placed the phone back on the table.

"Callum, what actually happened that made you scream earlier?" Edith asked with a worried look.

"It looks like Jas has gotten dragged into our troubles too. He said earlier that he felt like he was being followed."

"So, is he okay now?"

"For now, he’s safe. But, regarding the issues he’s facing, he’ll talk to about them tomorrow." Both hands were clenched tightly. "And I still want to ask you out tomorrow."

"It’s okay. In fact, I’m even more worried about the current situation. I think we really need to resolve this quickly before the children suffer any consequences."

"They can’t use our twins as a threat!"

"Do you need to hire personal guards to keep the school safe?"

"I will reconsider that if the situation becos increasingly unfavorable."

Edith yawned for a mont, stretching her arms. "I’m going to take a break now."

Finally, a mischievous smile returned to his handso face. "Do you want to carry you?"

"No need. I can–"

Suddenly, her head ached as a flood of mories flooded back. Although most of her mories had returned, she hadn’t been able to clearly recall the accident. Now, all the bad mories of the accident and the pre-accident period ca flooding back, nearly collapsing to the floor.

In this disturbing mory, she was again shown the mont when the car she was riding in was hit by a truck, causing it to roll over. This ti, the mory rewinded slowly to show the actual events leading up to the accident.

Edith stared, her mouth agape. For years, she had wondered who the perpetrator was who wanted to kill her, and now it had finally been revealed. Before she and her little family were involved in the accident, she had t Yvette. They had t at Yvette’s ho. Although the eting seed casual, Yvette’s purpose in summoning her had been ulterior.

"Edith, are you sure you want to marry Callum?"

"Even though Callum is my stepson, I still love him. You can’t stop from marrying him."

Yvette slamd her fist on the table, startling her stepsister. "I didn’t forbid you because she’s an illegitimate child! I’m not like my mother who forbade you from marrying her."

"Then why do you insist on forbidding ?"

"Because I like him."

Edith furrowed her eyebrows. "What? You two haven’t communicated much in a while. How could you like him?"

"You can’t marry him. I’m the one who deserves to marry him."

"Yvette, I’m sorry I can’t let you marry him."

"Why? Even though I really love him."

"Because only I can love Callum. All you feel is an obsession with him. If you truly love him, you should care more about him."

Yvette groaned in annoyance, ruffling her hair. "No! You don’t truly love him. All you want is his money."

"You’re wrong, Yvette! Callum and I truly love each other. I have the twins too. It’s been proven that you won’t be able to take Callum away from ." Edith got up from the sofa, carrying her sling bag. "I don’t think there’s anything more I need to explain. I’ll be going now."

"If you dare to set foot out of this house, you’d better die, Edith!"
