Portugal was one of the first countries to rise during the Age of Exploration.

Of course, even though Portugal gained a lot of profit during the Age of Exploration, allowing the country to rise quickly.

Portugal was still quite aware of its own national shortcomings.

That is, Portugal's internal market was limited, and the population could never grow rapidly due to territorial constraints.

If Portugal wanted to beco a true regional power, it needed more population, a broader market, and more land.

Thus, Portugal turned its attention to Morocco, which had rather favorable geographical conditions.

And coincidentally, at this ti, internal strife broke out in Morocco, with the new king overthrowing the old king, and because of this internal strife, Morocco faced a dire situation on all fronts.

So the young king of Portugal at that ti imdiately contacted the dethroned old king of Morocco, leveraging Portugal's wealth accumulated over generations to launch the conquest of Morocco, initiating the Battle of the Three Kings.

Of course, the outco of the Battle of the Three Kings was extrely dismal for Portugal.

Though Morocco was a North African country, due to its proximity to Europe, it imported many new European weapons from Italy and the Iberian Peninsula.

Moreover, there were quite a few European deserters and prisoners of war in Morocco, coupled with the influence of the Ottomans, which made Morocco comparable to Portugal in terms of both army quality and weaponry.

Thus, during this battle, the young king of Portugal drowned in a river while fleeing after a defeat, so abruptly that he didn't even leave a will.

Furthermore, since he left no heirs, Portugal later faced an invasion and joint rule by Spain over the matter of succession, forcibly binding it to Spain's chariot of war, ultimately leading to the fall of this first-rising power of the Age of Exploration.

It's worth ntioning that the other two kings involved in the battle, the forr king of Morocco died on the battlefield, and the current king fell ill and died the day after the battle.

Thus, the Battle of the Three Kings not only involved three kings in the war, but all three kings died in the battle.

"In other words, if this dieval long sword is truly determined to be the long-lost sword of the Portuguese royal family from the Battle of the Three Kings, its value is imasurable?"

"In the capitalist world, nothing is imasurable," Schaefer said.

"But the history of this long sword is indeed quite special. If it were auctioned in Portugal, I estimate it could sell for at least fifty million Euros."

"Then help contact a European artifact appraisal team, let them co to Huaxia and wait for to bring it back for appraisal," Chen Yiyang said.

"Not having it appraised directly in Europe?" Schaefer was a bit puzzled.

"If it's appraised in Europe and it really is the king's sword lost by the Portuguese king in the Battle of the Three Kings, I imagine it would be tough to take it out of Morocco."

"That makes sense," Schaefer said, "Europe has been a bit chaotic recently; I'm preparing to leave Germany to live elsewhere for a while."

"What's happening over there?" Chen Yiyang asked, curious.

"Our biggest opposition party had seven candidates suddenly die in one region. I sense sothing's off, so I think it's better not to stay in Germany, to avoid any unexpected incidents."

Okay.

Upon hearing this from Schaefer, Chen Yiyang quickly suggested that if it's really not feasible, Schaefer could co to Huaxia to stay for a while.

After finishing the call with Schaefer, Chen Yiyang instructed soone to buy a wooden box to temporarily store the long sword.

He also reattached the hilt to the sword.

When leaving Morocco, he planned to return with the receipt the stall owner gave him when he purchased the sword.

Chen Yiyang spent his ti in Morocco rather leisurely.

Apart from eting so local Moroccan officials and businessn, he and Zhang Yuling toured around.

He soon discovered that besides Rabat, the more remote places in Morocco had worse security, and there were more scamrs.

So after traveling around the outskirts of Morocco, Chen Yiyang and Zhang Yuling returned to Rabat.

Because they were too bored, they even stayed in the hotel room watching TV dramas on a tablet.

However, as Zhang Yuling hadn't watched TV dramas for a long ti, her video mbership had expired.

Midway through, an ad popped up.

"Hold on, I'll use my phone to renew the mbership," Zhang Yuling turned to grab her phone.

Chen Yiyang, sitting on the bed, watched the ad on the video idly.

Then suddenly he felt sothing was off.

"Wait, don't renew the mbership yet, I want to watch another ad," Chen Yiyang said to Zhang Yuling.

"What, can watching ads be that addictive?" Zhang Yuling looked at Chen Yiyang strangely.

"No, it's just that the duration of the ad seems off."

Chen Yiyang took out his phone and started timing.

He found that the video platform on the tablet clearly stated that the ad could be closed after sixty seconds.

But after timing, Chen Yiyang found that he could only close the ad marked with a sixty-second countdown after sixty-four seconds had passed.

Huh.

What, not only are there rigged scales in the offline market, but now even online video ads have rigged scales?

How does a supposed sixty-second ad end up making him watch for an extra four seconds?

If Chen Yiyang was just an ordinary user, this issue wouldn't matter much.

But since Chen Yiyang also owned a video platform, he imdiately realized this problem wasn't a simple one.

Even though his Bilibili wasn't the best, at least they didn't force users to watch lengthy ads if they didn't purchase a mbership, unlike other video platforms.

Thus, he beca enthusiastic and called his team back in the country, asking them to investigate this matter.

Soon, his team's investigation results ca in.

"Boss." Jiang Ming, the assistant responsible for this matter, reported to Chen Yiyang,

"We've investigated, and it's not just this video platform; all video platforms in the country have this problem.

So platforms indicate you can close the ad after a certain number of seconds, but the actual ti required to close it exceeds the indicated ti by several seconds."

"I rember this page usually has a countdown, doesn't it?" Chen Yiyang asked.

"There is a countdown. But that countdown is completely inaccurate and doesn't match the actual ti at all."

Jiang Ming continued, "So platforms don't even have a countdown, as they are well aware that the indicated ad ti is exaggerated, so they just display a number on the ad page, without clarifying whether that number signifies seconds."

These video platforms sure know how to play.

Chen Yiyang actually had a bit of admiration for these business contemporaries.

This is sothing else, is it even human behavior?

How can they manage to steal ti in ads, making users watch a few extra seconds just to earn a few extra cents from ad revenue?
