"Grandfather!"

"Master!"

Liu Qingi and the woman exclaid with joy, coming to the elder’s side. The woman helped him up, joyfully crying, "You’re awake, Master."

"Grandfather, it’s so great to see you awake." Liu Qingi wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes and smiled with delight.

"Cough, my dear granddaughter, did you save ?" The elder managed a smile, feeling significantly better, as if he had returned to his youth; it was a wonderful feeling.

"Grandfather, it was he who saved you." Liu Qingi pointed to Chen Lan.

The elder looked up at Chen Lan, slightly startled; he’s so young, and he couldn’t even discern the person’s realm, despite himself being a Great Emperor!

Could it be that he’s already a Daoist Venerable at such a young age?

"This old man thanks you, sir. May I ask your na?" The elder cupped his hands respectfully.

"Xiao Yao, your body is fine now. Just rest for a while before you start cultivating again." Chen Lan spoke calmly, then turned to Liu Qingi: "Where is my item?"

Hearing this, the elder and the woman were slightly taken aback and looked at Liu Qingi.

Liu Qingi’s face turned sowhat stiff, then she looked at the elder: "Grandfather, I promised him that if he saved you, I would give him what Senior Ye Lan left behind."

At these words, the elder’s face changed drastically; the item left behind by that person couldn’t be given to others. It had to be kept until that person ca back to retrieve it.

But now, this young man had saved him, and his strength must be extraordinary. Going back on their word would anger him, which wouldn’t be good for the Liu Family.

"What, you want to backtrack?" Chen Lan slightly frowned; if these people reneged, he wouldn’t mind killing them because they wasted his ti.

"No, no, please follow , sir." The elder shook his head repeatedly, slowly got out of bed, and when the woman tried to help him, he shook his head: "You two wait here, I’ll take him to get that item."

With that, he walked outside, and Chen Lan followed.

Once outside, the elder saw guards and servants groaning in pain all over the place, and he was shocked, not knowing what had happened.

"Master, the second young master is dead!" At this, a servant cried out loudly.

Hearing this bad news, the elder’s heart trembled, and he staggered back a couple of steps, almost falling down, angrily shouting: "Who? Who killed my son while I was ill!"

The eldest was dead, the third was serving in the army, and now even the second son had been killed. This was indeed unfair from the Heavenly Dao, targeting only the Liu Family!

"I killed him. Did you not know it was your son who was hurting you all along?" Chen Lan spoke calmly at this mont.

The servants closed their mouths instantly, their bodies trembling violently upon seeing Chen Lan, this demon appear.

The elder turned back, looking at Chen Lan in horror. It was his son who always wanted to kill him?!

How could this be possible!

How could his son ever want to kill him?!

"Grandfather, what he said was true." Liu Qingi ca out from the house and explained everything that had happened today.

Hearing what his son had done, the elder seed to age by decades, his face becoming pale and desolate, extrely pitiful.

In truth, he had so inkling in his heart; he simply didn’t want to believe it.

"Alas, such a misdeed." The elder sighed, hunched over, trembling as he walked forward.

Chen Lan followed him.

Before long, they arrived at a rock garden, standing before a stone door. The elder bit his finger, letting his blood flow, drawing symbols on the stone door.

In the next mont, the symbol suddenly emitted a blinding red light. The stone door rumbled and slowly opened to either side.

Chen Lan looked into the dark interior, scanned with his Divine Sense, but found nothing, causing him to frown slightly.

"Sir, please follow ." The elder said, stepping inside, and Chen Lan followed.

Once inside, the surroundings lit up with glowing stones embedded in the walls, providing illumination.

With a rumble, the stone door slowly closed, and there was still nothing inside.

Just as Chen Lan was about to speak, he heard a thud as the elder knelt heavily in front of him, kowtowing deeply.

"Sir, forgive for breaking my promise. That item was left by a senior who favored the Liu Family. Without him, there wouldn’t be the Liu Family today. That item is sothing our family must protect for generations. Liu Qingi was immature to promise it to you. If you’re angry, please kill ; consider it as if you never saved !"

Seeing the elder kneeling in front of him, Chen Lan wasn’t angry, feeling sowhat conflicted.

Because the elder kept his promise, not giving away the item due to gratitude, yet also broke it by not giving him what was promised.

And yet, Ye Lan was also his. If it had been sothing left by soone else, he might have been angry.

"The Ye Lan you speak of, is he the young supre?" Chen Lan calmly asked.

"No, that Ye Lan is indeed strong and shares the sa na as that senior, but he is far inferior. You see, that senior could cover the sky with one hand, suppress an entire Desolate Celestial Realm alone!" The elder shook his head repeatedly, his tone filled with admiration for that Ye Lan.

Hearing this, Chen Lan was shocked internally; covering the sky with one hand, suppressing the Desolate Celestial Realm alone?!

His past life was that strong?!

The Celestial Domain Demon Emperor, so intriguing.

"But reclaiming my own item shouldn’t be too much to ask, right?"

Chen Lan spoke calmly, his appearance reverting to his own.

At these words, the elder’s body shook. He looked up in disbelief; upon seeing Chen Lan’s appearance, his pupils contracted sharply, and he quickly stood up, stepping back in shock.

"It’s so similar, you look too much like him!"

In his amazent, the elder took out a scroll from his Storage Ring and unfurled it, revealing a portrait. When he looked back at Chen Lan, he said, "It’s not just similar, it’s exactly the sa!"

He suddenly recalled what Chen Lan had just said: reclaiming his own item!

"Are you Ye Lan, that senior?!" The elder was startled and scared.

Could it be, that senior who disappeared for tens of thousands of years has now returned?!

"I suppose so, though I have no mory of it." Chen Lan nodded slightly. Indeed, he had no mories from that ti.

The elder, hearing this, remained silent, half-believing, and eventually said, "If you are that senior, you should be able to take that item, because Senior Ye Lan said only he, himself, could take it, no one else has the qualification."

Senior Ye Lan had engraved a seal on that item; no one else could take it away, which was also a way to verify identity.

"Let give it a try then."
