"You make it sound like you have control over life and death!" Sydney scoffed but was happy to have him here.
"You don’t believe ?" he asked as he gently pinched her ear.
"I do...i always believe brother!" She cried out more. He had gone to lengths of following her to this unknown place How could she possibly not believe him?! "Now that you are here..does it an we are going ho?" Sydney asked as she sniffed, her green eyes inquiring at him hopefully.
Scott was silent for a minute and drew Sydney to an arm’s distance as he observed her. "You seem to have been doing quite well here. Do you really want to go back ho?" he teased her and Sydney who had been bawling her eyes out turned red in an instant.
"Please don’t!" She groaned as sha washed over her.
"Don’t what?!" he raised an eye brow at her. "I walk into your ho to find you surrounded by four handso n admiring you. I can see how much you enjoyed the attention!" he laughed.
"Yeah..yeah..laugh all you want!" she glared at him.
"I’m not laughing...I’m actually happy to see that you can be fine wherever you go. You gave a scare you know!" he ruffled her hair. "Was it hard?" he wanted to know. Adjusting to such an environnt would definitely weigh down on one ntally.
"It was shocking but I t with very nice beastn. Adapting beca much easier with them around!" Sydney was honest. Had it not been for Caden’s careful approach and Shawn’s innocent self, she would have found it really hard to adjust.
"I see." he nodded in understanding.
"So, when do we leave?" Sydney asked happily but soon her smile fell.
"How far have you gone with the beastn you reside with?" Scott asked hearing her question. Matters would get complicated of she had already mate with either of them.
"Not far..." Sydney replied in a small voice. While she had been extrely happy about leaving as soon as possible, she had forgotten about her chosen. She felt heavy at heart and extrely guilty. While she longed to go ho, she had beco their ho...what would happen if she suddenly left?! If her brother had not co in the most unexpected tis, would she still be willing to betray Ash and the others trust and the promise sheade to them?!
Was this her way of repaying them?? She hung her head low in sha and Scott sighed.
Ash silently led the others out of the house with a blank face.
"What’s going on?!" Ken couldn’t keep still. "Who is that male? Why did Sydney cry after seeing him? And why are you like this?!"
Ash gritted his teeth and looked at everyone who stood there observing him. "His na is Scott. He is our female’s brother and he has co to take her ho." Ash said it in one breathe despite the choking sensation playing at his throat.
After dropping the bomb, Ken stilled and stopped breathing. What? Brother? Ca to take her ho!!
"Why all of a sudden?" Shawn asked a frown settling in his handso face. He could only think..why all of a sudden?! Weren’t things working out perfectly?! Why was it crumbling down before it even started!?
Caden turned back to look at their ho and he felt his heart going cold in fear.
Titan shook before he could control himself and half shifted. He slithered crazily back into the house.
Sydney had been having a hearty talk with her brother when she heard Titan’s angry hiss before she was hoisted off the seat by Titan’s tail that was coiled around her. She didn’t have ti to understand what was going on. Titan’s tail brought her over to his arms which wrapped around her tightly that her midriff felt like it could break.
Scott stood up seeing his sister being manhandled and glared at the enormous snake beastman. "Let her down!" he ordered. He didn’t co this far to see his sister being manhandled by so lowly scaly beast!
The aggressive response of Titan caught the others off guard and they rushed in after him. What they ran into was the show down between Scott and Titan.
"Titan...stop...your grip is too tight!" Sydney groaned at the pain her stomach felt. But her voice seed distant and inaudible for Titan. One thing ran in his mind and that was Sydney being taken away!
How lucky had he been to be noticed and accepted! How much fear and self depreciation did he have to overco to boldly stand before the female he loved more than his life! Was he going to let all this go down the drain? All his brothers were now nursing four to five grand hatchlings and he hadn’t been lucky enough to even ever find a mate till late!
"Titan calm down!" Ash saw Sydney in pain and couldn’t help raising his voice at the irrational Titan. They had just begun talking about it and a conclusion hadn’t been drawn but he was already getting violent! What was he hoping to gain from this?!
"Titan...lossen your grip your hurting !" Sydney couldn’t hold up with pain and yelled at Titan who instantly lossened his grip but didn’t let go. He instead moved his tail and coiled it around her lower body trapping her in a place one would have to go through death to get her from him.
Scott had watched the exchange and was extrely displeased. Noatter how he looked at it, he bore no intention of leaving his beloved sister in this place with a group of wild beasts and all that showed on his face. "I recently heard sickening rumours about land beastn and I’m very disappointed to affirm them myself." he scoffed shaking his head. Sydney’s eyes widened and she frowned. What rumours?! She looked at Ash and the others. She knew almost everything about the beast world..what rumour was there that she had no idea about?!
"It’s a misunderstanding!" Ken who saw Sydney look at them was fast to defend his fellow beastn. It was this snake that was blowing things out of proportion!!!
"Oh! And where is the misunderstanding? Are you saying I’m blind?" Scott asked as he stepped forward. Titan ferociously hissed at him. "This is what I’m saying. Once a beast always a beast!"
Titan..stop this and put down! You can’t hiss at my brother like that!" she spoke sternly shocking the five beastn she had taken in as family. But Caden and Shawn were least surprised for they knew Sydney by heart! She was one who was very protective of her family! Titan’s behaviour was scoring him negative points not only in Sydney’s heart but her brother’s first impression too.
"He wants to take you away!" Titan breathed heavily his arms holding onto her trembling visible. He was very willing to let her down but only if she stayed.
And why are you so against it?" She asked. I have family where I’m from and they must be missing ! Isn’t it only right that I go back ho?!" she added accusingly.
A dead silence filled the whole room as Sydney’s words sunk into the minds of the five n.
"Then what about ...what about us? You are our ho! Are you going to abandon us?" Titan asked and a rare happening occured. His eyes that were turned slits in vigilance turned misty and tears fell. "You said we are your family..are you going to abandon us? Why?! Is it not unfair?" he sobbed as he buried his face in her neck. "You promised us a ho...a future to look up to...why are you snatching it away?" his voice choked.
Hearing his broken voice. Sydney who was ready to still her heart and go back to earth with her brother turned pale and her body shuddered. Without warning, her tears fell. What was she doing?! She looked at Ash, then Caden, the Shawn and Ken...the n looked broken and lifeless. No words left their mouths as they looked at her heavily. Sydney felt her heart crack. She was the one who promised them that she’d stay with them...she was the one who encouraged them! She was the one who embraced them....she was the one who gave them hope amd called them family....
"I’m...she choked. I’m sorry...I’m really sorry!!! she whimpered.
Scott who was ready to have a show down with the snake beastman was at a loss of words when he heard the beast’s plea. He looked at his crying sister who was held in a snake’s hold and felt torn. Why was his heart feeling heavy? What had gone wrong? What did he break?! He observed the other n in the house and saw the glow he had seen when he first entered during their al gone. The place had gone COLD.
