Lyra felt warmth spread in her heart hearing Victor’s words. She felt weirdly proud of his dedication in wanting to assist his tribe. Leaning back against his chest, she slightly tilted her head before kissing his cheek, "You sound so much like a king right now sweetheart. The Vulture tribe is lucky to have you"
"They better be" Victor comnted before tightening his grip on Lyra’s waist. Offcourse, they should be thankful for what he was doing for them. He was going out of his way to be a good king. He was never the one to trouble himself with others’ matters. When he left the vulture tribe after killing his father, he had given up all his connection to that tribe. Living as a stray beast king was because he liked the seclusion of being one. It was peaceful because no one bothered him.
However, everything has changed now. He has a lovable mate and a tribe to call his own. Victor never knew he wanted this. He had thought that being alone was alright and he was used to it until he t his mate. She ca like a light in his dreary life and now, the loneliness felt scary for him. He couldn’t ever imagine living like in his past.
If living with his mate ant for him to beco a king then he was okay with it. He was willing to do anything to have a life with his sweet girl.
"I love you, Sweet Girl" Victor murmured while nuzzling his face against the crook of her neck. He inhaled her addictive and unique scent Which brought a smile to his face.
Whereas, Lyra giggled when he rubbed his nose on her sensitive spot and replied, "I love you too....."
Victor smirked before roaming his hand along his mate’s side and before he could reach her mounds, a voice stopped him making him frown.
"Enough with that, bird" Blake said as he stepped inside the living room. His brows were furrowed together clearly showing his displeasure. He was still quite sullen about Victor and Demir making love to his mate. First, it was Lucas and Noah, and now them.....Blake couldn’t understand how they were okay with that.
His mate was his alone and if that was too much to ask then he at least wanted her to be exclusively his in the bedroom. Lovemaking was a very intimate thing for Blake and just thinking about watching another man do that with his mate angered him. He was alright about her having other males but that did not an he can watch her in bed with them. That was the only line he couldn’t cross and he has co to terms with that.
Nonetheless, the reason he was upset right now was that being this prude ant that he would have less chance of spending ti with his mate.
Lyra on the other side, smiled as soon as she heard Blake’s voice. She briefly kissed Victor’s lips before getting out of his hold and rushed to her other mate.
Blake felt his mood lighten as he saw his mate coming to him. He spread his arms welcoming her with a tight hug. Then he lifted her from the ground before twirling her. Lyra encircled her hands around his neck and grinned as he spun her around. And when he stopped, she pulled back to gaze at him. Just looking at his face cald her down and made her heart race. What was this man doing to her?
Whereas, Blake too felt his heart skip a beat when he saw her gaze at him with that look in her eyes. She always looked at him as though he was her everything. He felt the sa, she was his everything. He felt like their relationship was sothing eternal. Like he had lived and loved her way long before he t her. And he didn’t know why he was feeling like this. Did all of her mates feel the sa as him? He was not sure about that.
"Blake, I want to organize a banquet in the snake tribe before the heavy snow season starts"
He ca out of his wandering thoughts when he heard his mate’s words, "A banquet?" he asked just to make sure and received an excited nod in return.
"All I have done after coming to the beast city is going to other’ banquets," Lyra said, "This ti, I want to organize one myself as the Queen of this tribe. Can I?" She wanted to do sothing for the people that liked her for no reason. She was their queen only in na but even then, they always respected her and never shunned her even though she was not from their tribe. Noah and Lucas’ mothers did their job as a queen of their respective tribes but she, on the other hand, did nothing for her mates’ tribes. It was also not practical to do that while being a queen to multiple tribes but still...she wanted to try her best while staying in her mates’ tribes.
Blake made eye contact with Victor across from him who had a knowing look on his face. They both could see what was running inside their mate’s mind. Once again they were reminded of their mate’s overthinking nature and habit of trying her hardest to please others. They felt sad whenever she did this because all they wanted for their mate was for her to be happy and safe. These duties of the queen and tribe ant nothing to them. They would make sure none blad her even if she doesn’t do her obligations. If only they could say this aloud.
In front of her sparkling eyes filled with anticipation, both Blake and Victor couldn’t help but lose. The forr had a soft smile on his face as he said, "Alright, do whatever you want, Lilly"
"Yeah!" Right after that, he received a strong hug from his mate as she squealed in excitent.
Lyra felt so delighted and energized to do things. With a loud smooch on Blake’s cheek, she pulled away from him before going on her rry way to start organizing for the banquet.
anwhile, Blake and Victor who were left behind in the living room softly gazed at their mate as she left.
Victor soon ca out of his daze before glancing at Blake, "I wanted to ask you sothing" he felt like this was the perfect ti to ask about Blake’s opinion on the Vulture tribe staying in the Snake tribe.
Blake turned to Victor hearing his words, "What is it?"
"Can you allow my tribe to stay in your tribe? At least for the cold season?" he was alright with even that. No matter how strong a tribe is, it would surely turn vulnerable during this cold season. Right now, it was only lightly snowing but soon that would increase into heavy snow season. Prey tended to hibernate leaving a small source of food, so collecting and preserving the food now was crucial, and with many hands, that would get easier.
Blake nodded his head, "I have no problem with them staying here as long as they hunt their food and also help in protecting my tribe" This cold season has always been a headache to him. Snake males fell into slumber leaving the females unprotected and this forced Blake to stay here because he was the only one that could withstand his urge to hibernate.
Although he could go on without hibernating, Blake felt irritated whenever he stayed awake during this ti. It was as though his inner nature was clashing against him and that was not a pleasant feeling. One ti when he gave in and fell into a slumber, a horde of Stray beasts attacked his tribe and took many females with them. When he and the snake males finally woke up from their slumber, it was already too late because the females they rescued were left traumatized due to the ordeal they had to face with the strays.
To not let this happen again, Blake always made sure to return to the snake tribe during the cold season and guarded the females until their males woke up. So hearing Victor’s offer of the Vulture tribe staying in his tribe felt very favorable to both him and his tribe.
