Burning amber eyes opened and distress could be clearly seen inside them. Killian hurriedly got up from the bed and the first thing he did as soon as waking up was look at his right hand’s wrist. The mark of a Blue-colored water droplet looked glaring on his tanned skin. It was just montary but he was sure that his mating mark stung on his skin. He could as well as be wrong because the sting died down faster than it ca.

A wry sigh left his mouth as he closed his eyes. He swore he would kill everyone if sothing happened to his mate. For now, he could not check it by himself because well....his eyes fell on the space beside him. The feeble but steady breathing of two lion cubs and little snakes reached his ears. Killian could not leave them alone and go out to bring back his mate. But on the other hand, he could not stay still when sothing probably went wrong with his mate. Every minute without seeing her face felt like hell for him.

There was a battle going on inside his mind and in the end, the desperation of seeing his mate won. And as soon as he made up his mind, he picked up the little snakes before putting them inside the basket and settled the two sleeping lion cubs on his other free hand, and exited the room.

anwhile, the little snakes woke up and looked up at Killian when they felt him moving. They looked at each other in confusion but refrained from asking anything because uncle Killian had a very serious look on his face. Whereas, the lion cubs were too young to be vigilant and relaxed in Killian’s arms as soon they slled his familiar scent.

After exiting the room, Killian hurriedly walked down the stairs before he reached the entrance. Then he hastily closed the front door and walked out of the rose castle. There was no worry of intruders because anyone with a sane enough mind wouldn’t dare loiter around the place where many immortal beastn and beast kings resided.

[Snake Tribe]

Peter regally stood in the combat arena and continued to train the troops. Their king was particular in keeping the guards and soldier beastn in top shape to ensure the safety of the tribe. He was sure about their king’s vigilance increasing even more from now on. Their queen was missing and many of the competent snake beastn together with the king left in search of her.

It was an unfortunate event. Peter still felt bad as he recalled his king’s forlorn face when the queen disappeared right in front of his eyes. Nobody guessed that the stray beasts would use bizarre numbing powder that was never heard of. That smoke was capable enough of not only stopping king beastn but also was able to withhold the immortal beastn that it rendered everyone speechless. If this happened to individual tribes, then no one would be able to stop the stray beasts from taking over the entire beast city.

This was the worst nightmare for everyone. So to ensure efficiency, they have to train day and night. He was also looking for the numbing powder used on them. With continuous usage of that during training, they would be able to withstand its effects or that was the conclusion that he ca to. Nothing was set in stone as of now and the most important thing for their entire tribe right now was finding their queen. Peter also decided to muster up his courage and ask his king about staying in the snake tribe after all this is over. Many of the tribe elders had this sa thought but they stayed silent because they did not want to pressure their king and queen in this matter. Their queen already had other kings and princes’ beastn as her mates, so forcing her to stay with one of them would be unfair. He knew about this very well but still, he at least wanted to ntion this to his king. The last decision would be whatever thier king agreed on.

’’Leader!’’ he ca out of his thoughts when he heard one of the guards calling him. He looked at the latter in confusion but widened his eyes when he saw a familiar face following behind the guard.

’’Lord Killian’’ Peter bowed respectfully.

Killian gave a curt nod before stretching his hands forward, ’’Take care of them’’ and with that, he left that place.

Peter blankly looked at his young masters inside the basket and the two lion princes on the other hand. He was grateful for the lord not taking out his anger on his tribe. From what he knew, no one must have still inford the lord of the queen going missing and that would definitely anger the lord. It was already lucky that the lord did not burst out and silently left.

Sighing, he took the young masters into the castle and hoped for soone to find the queen as soon as possible.

Lyra unhurriedly removed Kaizer’s hands from her waist before she walked away and sat on the ground with her knees tucked, ’’I will be leaving once the rain stops’’

And those words of hers made Kaizer smile. Her actions showed that she trusted him enough to stay with him. Yes, she would leave once the rain cos to halt but this was also good. Her trust ant more to him than everything else.

Still, with a smile on his face, he too settled on the ground before parting his lips, ’’I’m a rootless beastman’’

Lyra felt chills run down the back of her neck. She hesitantly turned around and faced him with her eyes widened in shock and mouth agape, ’’If it’s a joke then it isn’t funny’’

’Chuckle’ laughter left his mouth when he looked at her petrified face and that made Lyra glare at him, ’’I’m sorry’’ he didn’t an to laugh at her but nowadays he found himself smiling and laughing whenever she was in his sight. He wanted to see more of her expressions so he said, ’’Look at you glaring at . Aren’t you scared of ?’’

She huffed arrogantly before turning away from him. It indeed scared her in the beginning but not now. Not after he made fun of her, ’’You don’t scare ’’

’’I hope the sa’’ he said, ’’It unnerves . The thought of you of all people fearing ’’

’’Who am I to you?’’ Lyra asked with her back facing him.

’’You are the woman I love’’ there was no hesitation in his tone. When he first t her, Kaizer desperately felt the need to hide his life’s ugly realities. But not now. Now that she was here with him, he felt free. It was as though all of his past didn’t matter anymore. He had this blind faith that she would never turn away from him just because he told the truth about himself. So the only thing he wanted to do in front of her from now on was, to be honest.
