Clear blue eyes collided with the athyst ones. Both of them slowly blinked at each other in shock. Lyra was the first to recover from her daze; the next thing she did was put a distance between herself and the stranger.
’’Who are you?’’ she asked in confusion but froze when she felt the robe slipping due to her movents, ’’Why am I....!?’’ she yelled while hurriedly covering herself. By now her face was flushed red due to sha and that made her glare at the one in front of her. The stranger had beautiful pair of purple eyes that glimred in the dark. He also had long dark blue hair that could be mistaken as black if one didn’t see correctly. He felt both familiar and unfamiliar at the sa ti. Most importantly, his eyes.....Lyra felt like she had seen his eyes sowhere before.
But that was not the point right now. Through the corner of her eyes, she could make out the walls of the cave and a small fire lit on the floor just a foot away from her. Here she was in a strange place in front of a stranger while naked with only a strange black robe covering her. Everything was so strange for her to comprehend.
anwhile, on the other hand, Kaizer continued to remain tight-lipped. He had a hard ti trying to reply to her. Under her scrutiny, he felt small. He hated to admit it but Kaizer felt sowhat intimidated by her glare. It was always like this for him. Even in their past etings, he always embarrassed himself because he couldn’t bring himself to talk freely with her.
As he got lost in his thoughts, Lyra took the opportunity to observe him. And sothing flickered in her mind, making her stare at him with widened eyes.
"You are that guy, right?" she asked, "The one who ca to kidnap that day?"
And Kaizer recovering from his haze slowly nodded his head hence affirming her doubt to be true.
Lyra visibly relaxed as soon he confird. The thought of her being with a complete stranger unnerved her. But now that she at least sowhat knew him, it was a blessing in disguise for her. Recalling the day when he ca to abduct her and miserably failed, Lyra was sure that the beastman in front of her was a good one. This was because he never hurt her and docilely left the rose castle as soon as she asked him that day.
"I did not kidnap you this ti," Kaizer said getting her attention, "You were in danger back then inhaling that smoke. I just took you away from that place"
"Ah, you did that?" Lyra nodded with a knowing smile on her face, "Thank you for saving "
Kaizer too awkwardly tried to smile but then froze hearing her following words.
"I told you that day itself, didn’t I? You aren’t capable of doing sothing like kidnapping’’ She only said this because the purple-eyed stranger was way too clumsy to do bad things. Even now, he looked at the cave walls more than eting her eyes while conversing. He looked weirdly nervous and anxious and this fact strangely led her to relax. She always felt wary of strangers after getting kidnapped by Kyrell. But now? Now It was different. She believed that the stranger could never hurt her. She didn’t know why she felt like this but it seed so right to trust him.
But contrary to Lyra’s thoughts, Kaizer wanted the ground to swallow him. He always embarrassed himself in front of her and it seed to continue even now and guessed that the future would be not so different. He was sure that his impression in her mind was that of him being clumsy and idiotic. Comprising everything, an unworthy male without any sense of dignity was his image right now.
As he got lost in his thoughts, Lyra started to observe him and frowned noticing his sullen face. She didn’t know why he was sad. Maybe so of her words offended him? But skimming through her previous words, she didn’t find anything amiss that could hurt him. So the next best option for her was distracting him with a new topic.
"What is your na?" she asked with a smile hanging on her lips.
This ti around, he finally t her eyes before answering curtly, "Kaizer"
"I’m Lyra"
"I know"
She tilted her head to the side, "You know?"
He nodded, "You are quite famous in the beast city"
"I am?" Lyra asked in confusion. His words didn’t make sense. What did he an by her being famous?
And her question was answered by Kaizer, "You are famous for having strong mates and those mates beating every other male in the city who even tries to get near you. And then....." he drawled his words as though hesitating before shouting, "Well you are so beautiful so it is normal...There! I said it!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Kaizer avoided her eyes and turned away. Heat crept into his face making him embarrassed.
Whereas on the other side, Lyra dazedly blinked her eyes trying to process his words. And soon her face too flushed red. No matter how many tis she heard, Lyra would never be immune to handso n calling her beautiful. It always left her jittery.
Silence engulfed both of them as they refrained from talking further. The only sound that could be heard was of them breathing. The female took in feeble breaths as though too scared to make a sound. She didn’t want to make the air around them awkward by talking unnecessarily. anwhile, the male took in ragged breaths trying to calm his erratically beating heart. He was afraid of her hearing his loud heartbeats.
Both were afraid of two different things but the essence of their feelings was the sa. Both of them didn’t want to make the other one uncomfortable by talking.
After a long ti, the one to break the silence was Lyra, "Kai" kaizer whipped his head towards him making her startled.
"What did you call ?"
"Kai" Lyra uttered unsurely, "Can I call you that?"
Kaizer felt his heart thundering against his chest. Hearing her calling out his na, No! A nickna made him exhilarated. He had an intense urge of cupping her face and kissing the life out of her. A smile adorned his lips and before he could reply, she once again took him by surprise by asking.
"Kai, where is my dress? Why am I naked?"
