Killian stared at his mate for a long ti before sighing in defeat. He knew her better than others. She was easygoing most of the ti but when she decided on sothing, it was very hard for them to change her mind. His mate oddly could convince them to do all of her bidding or it was almost like, they couldn’t say ’No’ to her requests.
He just hoped that he wouldn’t regret agreeing to her request this ti. He would not be able to attend the coronation banquet because he was an outsider to the city but he decided to trust others. His gaze involuntarily fell on Blake followed by Noah and at last on Kyrell.
The snake was very protective of his mate and most of the ti acted responsibly so he could trust him. As for Noah, the last ti he failed to protect his mate but still, Killian decided to trust him. It was because he was calm and not hot-tempered. Then lastly he looked at Kyrell. The only reason for him to trust the eagle was because he is strong. More than himself if he had to admit it.
And as for Lucas, Victor, and Demir, it was not like he didn’t trust them....No, to be honest, he really didn’t trust those trio. Demir, because he has not yet beco mates with his mate, and in Lucas’ case, because he was young, naive, and hot-tempered. Then he glanced at Victor and sighed tiredly.
He was still arguing with his mate regarding the banquet, ’’Sweet girl, please change your mind. It is dangerous out there’’
Lyra looked at Victor with pursed lips and replied stubbornly, ’’No, I’m going’’
’’Sweet girl.....’’ he whined while holding her hands between his palm but his voice was turning sharper as she continued to stay adamant about her decision. Victor was trying his best to hold back from lashing out but it seed difficult as ti passed. His mate was never this stubborn and he always wanted to remain a sweet guy in front of her, so he couldn’t scold her or force her to stay inside the house. It was not like he was saying this for nothing and others also knew that. But what ticked him off was how they remained silent without rebuking her and only let him do all the work.
They also didn’t like her going to the banquet but still refused to persuade her and only he was asking her to change her mind. It was clear that they didn’t want to displease their mate and let him take all the bla. ’Selfish bastards!’ he cursed them in his mind before looking up at his mate. She was easygoing most of the ti, so her stubbornness now left him baffled. But what could he do? He was helpless in front of her adorable face. The only thing he could do for now was to stay beside her all the ti when they attend the banquet.
As Victor started to soften up at their mate’s persistence and remained silent, Blake couldn’t help but sigh in defeat. Until now, he was pinning on Victor to persuade his mate otherwise but it seed impossible now.
anwhile, Killian too felt the sa. He was a little bit hopeful but it failed. This is why he didn’t trust Victor. He felt like a hypocrite for thinking like this because he, himself did nothing to stop his mate other than the bare minimum so he had no right to judge Victor, but still, he felt sour seeing the latter give up.
On the other hand, Noah didn’t feel much about Victor’s failure because he could understand him. Their mate was normally docile but when it ca to so things, she wouldn’t change her decision.
And lastly, Kyrell who was okay with whatever his beloved decided didn’t talk any further. He was confident that he could keep her safe.
With everything resolved, Lyra decided to not take the children with them. As Killian couldn’t attend the banquet, she thought it was best to let the little snakes and cubs in his care. Then next was the matter regarding her parents. After the incident with the cubs, her mother moved out of the rose castle. Lyra could guess the reason for that. Her mother didn’t want Gregory targeting her or the ones close to her.
Lyra tried to persuade her mother but failed in the end. Her father too supported her mother and both of them together with Garrison moved out. They didn’t even disclose the place they were leaving to and said that it was good to keep that a secret. She felt hurt when they did that but mostly she felt angry. Angry at that Gregory for ntally torturing her mother. He did it first to her father by faking her mother’s death. Her father shut himself from the outside world and remained in isolation believing his mate’s death and her mother suffered by staying dead.
After doing all this, he still claid to love her mother. ’Can soone truly in love do bad things to their beloved? Or was he just labeling his selfish and dark desires as Love? What makes one take such drastic asures? What could be running through the mind of soone like that?’ So many questions like these ca to her mind whenever she thought about Gregory. And the answer to these could only be given by him because she never in her life even had a thought of forcing soone to love her.
The reason for that was that she didn’t trust that such love would last. When Kyrell kidnapped her, she had only one thought. And that is to get away from him. Maybe she would have done that if not for the prophecy. Lyra only knew little about the gem and her fairy powers. She sotis rembered Vanadey from her dream and she didn’t know why, but her heart ached every ti it happened. Sothing inside her was pushing her to complete that prophecy no matter what. But this did not an that she accepted Kyrell only for that. It was because Kyrell instantly redeed himself and set her free rather than keeping her hostage.
She believed that everyone makes mistakes at least one ti in their lifetis but not everyone will correct them. Here Kyrell corrected them when she gave him a chance and that is what matters.
Lastly, she and her mother are two different people. She gave a chance to Kyrell because it was her choice and it doesn’t have anything to do with her mother. Importantly, Gregory was not soone who could correct his mistakes, so her mother’s decision in keeping him away from her is a good choice.
Lyra only hoped that she wouldn’t co across sothing like this ever in her life.
