Chapter 1454: I Have A Very Strange Feeling

Since knowing about Gregory’s age, Gu ngng started feeling rather awkward. She could no longer et his eyes directly.

Wabei had mocked Gu ngng, not because she was an “old cow eating young grass” but that she had already swallowed the grass before realizing how young it was.

Gregory felt rather helpless. His young age... was it also his fault?

Elvis’ emotions were more difficult to unravel. He used to be very distressed at the fact that he was the youngest in the family as Gu ngng would be incensed whenever Wabei ntioned their age gap. This made Elvis feel very self-conscious, as if he was an embarrassnt to Gu ngng.

But now there was a Gregory, who was even younger than him.

Yet he was suddenly feeling rather despondent. How to put it... he would rather be the one embarrassing Gu ngng than let soone else do it.

It was like so kind of status, which was now snatched away by Gregory.

The group of them had been traveling in a leisurely manner but their light spirits were now dampened because of Gu ngng’s awkwardness.

The month passed quickly and before they realized it, they were already at the foot of the Motou mountains.

The scenery here was incredible. Gu ngng stood on black earth and green grass, while just 20 steps away, a clear stream snaked downward as if descending from the skies. Even without touching it, one could feel the bone-chilling coldness of the water.

It was also a stream but completely different from the one in Saint Nazaire.

Saint Nazaire’s stream flowed slowly and gently, mmm... like the silky smooth swirl of chocolate as seen in those Dove chocolate comrcials. It gave off a leisurely and romantic feeling.

But this stream before them was different. It felt harsh and torrential. Or perhaps it was due to the rugged and strange-looking rocks at the lower portion of the stream, making the flowing water turn at acute angles. It was obviously just water but it glinted with the sharp light of a blade, such that no one dared to venture too close.

In addition, that stream was like a watershed as on the other side of it was pure white snow, howling winds and snow swirling thick in the air.

“There, that’s the main mountain of the Motou mountain range.” Gregory pointed at the highest peak.

Even with Gu ngng keen eyes, she could barely see a faint outline through the heavy snowfall. As to what the bottom of that mountain was like, there was no way to know as it was range where mountains overlapped one another, blocking one’s view of a mountain in its entirety.

Gu ngng frowned and elbowed Wabei. “Little shit, look at that highest mountain... does it look familiar?”

Wabei was also gazing ponderously at that mountain. He looked perturbed for a long while before nodding. “Gu ngng, I have a very strange feeling... I feel that I must go over there, but I also feel a bit resistant.”

Gu ngng tilted her head as she looked at Wabei. “What do you an? Speak normally.”

Wabei pursed his lips before gently shaking his head.

Wabei usually acted flippantly when he was with Gu ngng. She was not used to this sudden serious attitude of his and felt rather discomfited by it.

Patting Wabei on the shoulder, she said, “If you feel it’s better not to go over, then just stay here and wait for . I will co back to et you after I retrieve the Love of the Sky.”

Wabei hesitated for a mont before flashing his trademark unruly grin. “How can I face him next ti if I concede to my own cowardice now and let you go face danger alone?”

Wabei was of course referring to Snakel.

He had said the sa thing when they were at the bottom of the ocean. Even when his body had been eroded to the bone by the poison, he still set his jaws and shielded Gu ngng as they entered.

He said that he could not retreat no matter how dangerous things were. He had to protect her so that he could face Snakel in future without any sha.
