Chapter 1409: He Can Count Himself Lucky
“You got guts!” Wabei was so angry that he seed to be radiating a black aura.
He really wanted to kill Gregory, but Gu ngng was clearly protecting him.
He wished to give Gu ngng a sound thrashing but even though he knew he was no match for her and could not hurt her, he still couldn’t bear to strike her delicate limbs. Hence, he spun around a couple of tis before his gaze landed on Elvis. “Little wolf pup, co fight with .”
When did Elvis never have a gut-full of angst to vent? Having been singled out, he laughed. “Happy to oblige.”
With that, Elvis and Wabei left side by side.
Gu ngng held her forehead. Those two had behaved the sa way when Wabei was training Elvis before their trip to the cca Desert. Now they were at it again...
Wabei’s attack on Gregory—she had been too shocked to realize it earlier, but now that she had ti to think about it, what was there not to understand? He probably heard about her cliff-jumping incident at the Motou mountains but couldn’t bear to admonish her. So he had pushed all the bla to Gregory?
Sigh, Gu ngng felt very guilty that soone else had to pay for her one mont of folly.
“Look after him. Don’t let him die from little shit’s poison.” Gu ngng shook his head in exasperation. She wanted to help Gregory get up but hesitated before taking a step back, letting Lea do the honors.
Lea was gladdened by Gu ngng’s avoidance of Gregory. Although he allowed Gregory to like Gu ngng, it didn’t an he was willing to let there be one more male in the family. And especially not one who could fly and whose looks rivaled his...
Lea helped Gregory up but didn’t bring him into the stone castle. Instead, he laid by the side of the castle wall, before checking on his ankle.
Wabei’s fangs had ripped off a large piece of Gregory’s flesh, exposing the stark whiteness of his bones. The surrounding flesh had gone black while web-like, black lines were spreading outward from his ankle to the rest of his body.
Lea clicked his tongue. “This Wabei must have been really mad? This poison of his is so vicious.”
“Can he not be saved?” Gu ngng was rather worried.
Although the death of one male was really nothing much in the Beast World, Gu ngng felt very conflicted that this male might suffer a wrongful death because of her.
Lea didn’t want to add the burden of another life onto Gu ngng’s shoulders. One Snake was already enough to leave an indelible mark on her. He would not allow this Gregory to beco another demon haunting her nightmares. Hence, he sighed. “He can count himself lucky. I just happen to have the antidote to this poison.”
With that, Lea returned to the house and ca out with a small animal skin pouch. He opened it to reveal two pieces of snake scales. Lea used one fingernail to gently scrape off so powder from the scale, before applying that powder onto Gregory’s wound. A short while later, the black, web-like lines gradually faded. Thereafter, the blackness surrounding the wound also diminished.
The venom was neutralized but the rotted flesh would never heal. Lea had no choice but to use his fingernails to scrape off the rotted flesh. He only stopped until bright red blood flowed out.
Gu ngng watched over the entire process. Feeling sowhat guilty, she shook her head in exasperation. “This little shit is too impulsive. Imdiately attacking him without even a prior word...”
Lea tilted his head to look at Gu ngng. After a long ti, he asked, “Does your heart ache for him?”
Gu ngng shook her head. “My heart doesn’t ache, but I still feel rather dismayed. He saved my life but ended up nearly dying from an attack by my friend.”
