“Since you already had a plan, why didn’t you tell earlier? Then I would not have done such a dangerous thing and made you guys worry.” Gu ngng looked at Lea begrudgingly.
Lea pinched Gu ngng’s nose and swayed it from side to side. “How many tis must I tell you. Leave it to Elvis and I to handle all problems. Such things would not have happened if you just rember half of what we said. And you still dare to turn around and try to pin the bla on now? Mmm?”
“I was in the wrong.” Gu ngng knew she was truly the one at fault and didn’t dare to push her luck. She gave an accommodating smile. “I was really scared after seeing you two jump right off after . I won’t ever dare to do that again. I really won’t.”
Since returning from the Motou mountains, Gu ngng didn’t dare to act impulsively again. She would obediently step back whenever so issue cropped up, leaving things to Elvis and Lea to handle.
Even when Cole appeared in Sauder, Gu ngng didn’t interfere but trusted that Elvis and Lea would have their own plans.
Tilting her head, Gu ngng asked again, “I have another question.”
Lea prompted. “Go ahead.”
Gu ngng asked, “That cave was so far away from the main mountain and the winds were howling so loudly. How could my tiny voice travel that far?”
Lea gave a faint smile as he bent over and blew gently into Gu ngng’s ear. “If your voice can’t carry the distance, there’s still your scent... don’t forget that you possess a scent that can drive all males crazy. Elvis and I just need to put in a bit more effort and make use of the winds—we can definitely arouse all the males on the Motou mountains.”

Gu ngng glared at him as she crossed her arms over her chest in a protective stance. “You want to sell myself?!”
Lea grinned. “As long as Elvis and I are protecting you, no one would be able to even go near you. Elvis just needs to unleash his beast pressure and he can subdue all the males who were lured to the cave by your scent. Then we can either use reasoning, threats or enticent to make them do our bidding. If all else fails, we can even use the bewitching spell. Anyway, there are a thousand and one ways to make them comply.”
Gu ngng held her forehead. “Lea, I realized that foxes are really sothing else. I bow down to your brains. I will never pretend to be smart in front of you ever again.”
Lea poked Gu ngng’s brow. “I will wait and see.”
Gu ngng chuckled helplessly. She had already worn down all her credibility with Elvis and Lea. There was nothing she could do with the fact that they didn’t trust her promises.
After dinner, Kanwu and Chixuan bid Gu ngng farewell. With the two of them absent from Zacharias when winter ended, that territory was probably already in chaos. It was impossible for Burke alone to hold down the fort there. Therefore, the two of them had to hurry back to stabilize the situation.
Gu ngng hugged her two sons and instructed them to never put themselves in danger again, that they must always tread carefully.
The two of them just chuckled and didn’t respond to Gu ngng’s words.
She understood that they already held the ntality that males must always shield females from all dangers and never let a female encounter the slightest bit of risk. So there was no doubt that her two sons would once again risk themselves to protect her should they need in the future.
Gu ngng compromised. “At least promise that you will try your best to keep yourselves safe.”
“We will.” Chixuan returned Gu ngng’s hug. “Mother, you should smile more. You look prettiest when you smile.”
The corners of Gu ngng’s lips curled up into an exceptionally warm smile as she watched her two dashing sons turn and walk off.
