Chapter 1329: Cool Guys Don’t Look At Explosions
Gu ngng held her forehead and looked at Lea. “Will this really work... why do I feel that little shit might not be that reliable?”
Lea shook his head slightly. He mulled over the matter as he played with Gu ngng’s fingers, before speaking, “No, this is actually better. Isn’t this like what you said— ‘a real man only goes forward and never turns back, regardless of raging fires or howling winds’.”
Gu ngng chuckled and continued the sentence. “Cool guys don’t look at explosions.”
Lea nodded. “Exactly.”
Wabei snorted. “Can you two please stop talking in riddles?”
Gu ngng explained. “Lea ant that Cole would believe you precisely because you didn’t bother to check for his response. He is too astute. If you displayed the slightest hint of interest, he would probably co up with all sorts of fanciful speculations. He is such a perverse freak and too good at manipulating people. Because you left him with an aloof and solitary back profile, he would be more inclined to believe you really beca partners with Wang Xiaoxin. After all... marrying an ex-ssenger is even cooler than marrying . You have the right to be smug about it.”
Wabei stood up with a jump and turned his back toward Gu ngng. “Eh, do I look suave like this?” He changed his pose and asked again, “How about this? Is this aloof enough? Aiya... I am just too handso, aren’t I?”
Gu ngng said, “My footsteps sway, my heart feels drunk...”
Lea asked, “What do you an?”
Gu ngng rolled her eyes at Wabei. “I am ntally and emotionally taxed...”
Lea laughed and carried Gu ngng out the door to enjoy the sunlight. Wabei was still posing when he saw her leaving. He chased after her and then selected a spot with the best lighting and angle. He asked Gu ngng again, “Eh, do you think this back view of mine is the best?”
Gu ngng was full of regrets for praising Wabei. This was even worse than the aftermath of when he was afraid of her.
Elvis ca out from the side and took Gu ngng over from Lea, who then went to prepare lunch.
Elvis glanced at Wabei. “What’s the matter with him?”
Gu ngng said, “Ignore him. He’s having a fit.”
Elvis chuckled as he nodded. “We have counted all the females in the wolf tribe. There are 27 of them. There might be more families with male wolves joining tomorrow. So we have marked out an area at the forr location of the 16 tribes for the wolves to stay. The caves have already been dug, but the problem is that new caves are more damp and cold. Nevertheless, I have already taught them how to use fire to warm up and dry out the caves. They should be able to survive this winter. However, winter is approaching and I am afraid that there is not enough ti to stock up on sufficient food stores...”
Gu ngng thought about it. “We have a lot of food at ho. Why don’t we allocate a portion of it for the 27 females? We must at least ensure that those 27 females survive this winter.”
Elvis shook his head. “We cannot give out your food.”
“But...”
Lea agreed with Elvis. “I will teach them how to prepare the food for storage. How much food they can prepare for their own females within these few days will depend on their own capabilities. ngng, don’t underestimate a male’s potential. For their own females... there’s nothing that they cannot do.”
Gu ngng nodded. “Alright then. I wonder if we have enough salt...”
Lea kissed Gu ngng’s face. “Of the salt from Saint Nazaire, we don’t have much left. But Fei Rui’s rmaids made two deliveries of salt to Saint Nazaire. Barete had half of that batch sent here to be split among the 27 females. There is more than enough.”
