Chapter 1325: Didn’t Cole Tell You I Have A Bad Temper?
Gu ngng had always planned to bear a brood of little foxes for Lea. Even so, she felt unhappy that soone was trying to force her to do so now.
Gu ngng leaned into Lea’s arms with a smile. “And if I refuse?”
The elders continued kneeling in one row. “Then would the Great ssenger allow Miranda to remain and help carry on Ninth Highness’s bloodline.”
Gu ngng smirked. “If you put it this way... then there’s no way I can let Miranda remain here. Lea, spread the news. Say that Sauder has a complete snow fox female for sale. Physically healthy and the pri candidate for bearing offspring. Mmm, we should be able to get a good price.”
“Got it.” Lea answered gently, without any doubt.
Miranda had just returned from moving the last piece of rock. On hearing Gu ngng’s announcent, she instantly went weak in the knees and collapsed on the ground.
Tears flowed down her cheeks like a broken string of pearls. She gazed at Lea with anguished eyes. “Ah Ya, how can you treat like this? Given our past relationship, you should at least help speak up for ... although you have soone new now, at least I was once affianced to you. How could you just stand there and do nothing as I am sold off by the Great ssenger?”
Gu ngng took two steps forward and squatted in front of Miranda. She pinched her chin and scrutinized her. “If her teeth got smashed in... would it lower her price?”
With that, Gu ngng slapped Miranda right across the face. One tooth loosened and was spat out by Miranda together with a glob of blood.
Miranda didn’t expect Gu ngng to strike her and was montarily stunned. She even forgot to cry and just stared at Gu ngng dumbly.
“I don’t like you randomly giving nicknas to my male. This upsets greatly.” Gu ngng continued pinching the still-bleeding Miranda. She asked with a smile. “Don’t tell that Cole didn’t inform you of what a bad temper I have when he sent you over? That you shouldn’t provoke if you wish to preserve your life?”
“No... no...” At the ntion of Cole, Miranda started trembling all over. It was a different kind of pathetic from before. This ti, she was trembling for real while her face had gone pale. She shook her head vigorously. “It wasn’t Cole who sent over... I escaped by myself... really...”
Miranda kept crawling toward Lea as she spoke. She reached out to grab Lea’s ankle, but he stepped out of the way. She ended up grabbing thin air and fell back on the ground. Her eyes were all red-rimd and snot was dribbling from her nose. She looked extrely wretched as she sobbed and shook her head fervently. “Ah Ya... Ninth... Ninth Highness... I really escaped on my own... this is the only place in the entire Beast World that Cole does not dare to step foot on. I was only able to escape from that demon by remaining in Sauder... please, I beg of you... let stay, please save ...”
Gu ngng and Lea exchanged looks. They gazed down at Miranda, who was crying so hard that the veins on her neck were popping out. They believed that Miranda was telling the truth now. Her subtle bodily reactions were for real and were not sothing that good acting would be able to imitate.
But...
What kind of person was Cole?
Could it be that easy for soone he had imprisoned to escape?
Ha, who would believe that?
Gu ngng was not a heartless person, but she understood the principle that the heavens would not help those who didn’t help themselves.
If Miranda had been truthful right from the start and sought their help without targeting Lea. Gu ngng might have pitied her and offered her a helping hand. But now...
