As they were walking, Astri looked at Bono and Ian.
"Do I have to say: I told you?" Astri asks Bono with a smirk.
Bono chuckles.
"No. You don’t have to." Bono answers.
"Sure of himself. That’s more like it. It’s nice eting you Leader.." Astri says and then looks at Ian, asking what his na is.
"Ian.. It’s Ian." Ian answers.
"Leader Ian. Hope you like it here and that you can keep growing together with Bono."
"Are you the female the King got infatuated with?" Ian asks.
"Why do you think it’s ?"
"Bono said that the King didn’t take you because you were pregnant. And also said the King wanted you because you’re beautiful."
"Why, thank you. And yes, unfortunately, it’s . I could buy us ti to prepare to dethrone him."
"Why? Females don’t like the most powerful?"
"No. Females like to feel safe. And I don’t think only physically. You don’t need to be the strongest to protect soone’s heart. The King only wants a sex doll." She says.
She wraps her arms around Kangki’s to support her as she walks.
"Where did you co from? You’re very different and smart." Ian asks.
"Pretty far. And thank you." She answers.
"Do you know if the traps are being made, Zin?" Bono asks.
"Yes. They are." Zin answers.
"And the shifts?"
"Relax, my friend. Everything is running smoothly. Don’t let the pressure remove your calm." Claud says.
"Sorry.. I just want that male out of our lives once and for all. I don’t want him.. touching Astri ever again."
"He won’t. We won’t let him get near her again. If you can’t kill him, I will." Kangki says.
"No. Bono can do it and will do it." Astri says.
"How are you planning on killing him? As I saw on your mark, you’re at least 5 marks less than him." Ian asks Bono.
"Marks are not everything. It’s all about the mind." Bono answers.
"Look at that! I’m proud of you." Astri smiles at Bono for what he said, and he smiles too, blushing slightly.
Ian could notice that Bono likes Astri, but he could also notice that Astri is not a common female. He saw that she’s a doctor, and that by itself is sothing very rare and precious. He noticed that the three spouses with her are not dinosaurs, so they weren’t raised there, and maybe that’s why Bono grew so much.
"He’s smart." Kangki ntions to Astri, after reading Ian’s mind, to make sure he can be trusted.
"And watchful." Claud says.
"Are you talking about ?" Ian asks.
"Yes. After the feast, we will show you our plan. You will.."
They hear water falling from nowhere. Astri looked down and saw that the water ca from her, alerting everyone. Kangki quickly and carefully carried her in his arms, then flew away.
The others ran after them. All the guards were there, and there was a big fuss when they saw that Astri was in labor. Bono couldn’t deny he wanted to go inside the house, but he’s not her spouse to be there.
Astri’s spouses were running like ants to prepare the bed she would be on, and everything they would need. She chuckles, watching them. Skalven was in there too, with the children, and he doesn’t know if he should leave or not, until Wayde goes to him.
"Skalven, can you take the children to their bedroom and wait there? This house is smaller than our last castle. We might end up hurting them with everyone so focused on Astri." Wayde asks.
Skalven nods, then takes the children with him. After they have everything ready, all spouses are looking at Astri with anxious faces.
"I still don’t feel it’s ti to push. Don’t worry. I’m fine." Astri says, sitting up.
"Do you want to walk then? Like last ti?" Claud asks.
"Yes. It will help."
She’s feeling contractions, but she doesn’t feel they’re close enough to say that it’s ti. So she walks in circles like last ti, and her spouses shift in turns to walk with her.
As ti passes, everyone outside is getting more and more anxious.
"Why is it taking so long? Is Lady Astri all right?" Troy asks, worried.
"Sotis it takes a long ti." Galion says.
"Last ti she took long?" Bono asks.
"Yes, because it was a baby. Maybe it’s a baby again."
"I don’t think so. I heard her say she didn’t feel any movents. I think it’s eggs." Another guard says.
"I just hope she’s fine. All labor is dangerous." Otto says, worried.
"You’re not helping, father." Bono says, walking to the house and trying to listen to sothing inside. "Is everything alright in there? Is Astri all right?" Bono asks.
Cyprian opens the door slightly.
"She’s fine. She’s waiting for the right ti to push. She’ll start now. Don’t worry." Cyprian answers, then closes the door again.
Koa and Dieg sit her again in the bed, she’s heavy breathing and feeling strong contractions close to each other, telling her it’s ti to push.
They say reassuring words to her while she pushes. On the first push, Zin and Claud could see an egg coming out. On the second push, the egg cos out.
The egg is a bit bigger than an emu’s egg, and it’s white.
"It’s..Lee’s!!" They say after slling the egg’s scent.
Lee is almost paralyzed. Claud lets him co closer and see his hatchling. Lee’s eyes filled with tears, so happy to see that egg. Astri starts to feel she has to push again, and in one single push another eff cos out making Lee even more happy.
Astri sighs and relaxes on Cyprian’s arms.
"This one was so easy." She says, and a bit impressed because she’s not even feeling too tired.
"Eggs are easy to co out. You did great, my love." Claud says, passing his hand on her head and face with a proud and loving smile.
Then he gives Lee space to kiss her and hug her.
"Thank you, my love.. You gave hatchlings. You gave mighty little Eagles." Lee says so thrilled.
Astri giggles.
"Thank you, too. I need to admit that this was the easiest pregnancy so far." She says.
"We could only have hatchlings if you want from now on." Lee jokes.
"No way!" Everyone says in unison, making Astri giggle again.
They work together to finish everything, take another clean bed for Astri and Lee puts the hatchlings on a warm nest. Koa and Beau take Astri to bathe, while the others make sure everything is organized and clean again. The children co back and are happy to see the eggs and their mother resting on the bed.
"When they’re going to co out, father Lee?" Hopin asks.
"In five or six days." Lee answers.
"Will they have feathers? Should we make clothes for them?" Astri asks.
"They will. Only if it’s a female, of course. We will need clothes. They can eat smashed fruits, at."
"So they don’t breastfeed? Aw.." Astri softly says.
"Only iff it’s a female."
"Birds develop their stomach very well before birth. Even the females can eat normal food too, and breast milk." Claud says to Astri.
"Impressive. Nature is perfect, isn’t it? Everything grows the way it should be." Astri smiles.
"New bwothers~~" Yuki sings, putting so of her teddy bears with the eggs.
Everyone always loves to see how much Yuki is a lovely female, just like her mother.
"Thank you for taking care of them, Skalven." Astri says.
He blushes and nods.
"I’m happy I can help." Skalven softly answers.
"Skalven is the best uncle. Just don’t tell the others. Training with him is aweso too." Hopin says.
"When I shift, I’ll have at least two marks because of him." Elias says, rubbing his head on Skalven.
Yuki pretends she’s Skalven, making sounds and pointing her hands at things like she was shooting webs, making everyone laugh.
"Let’s leave your mother resting. She deserves it. We will make so nice dinner for her." Zin says.
Everyone leaves Astri and Lee alone with the eggs. She lays her head on his chest, and he hugs her, feeling a growing love that he can’t asure.
"I love you, Lee. Mighty Eagle Lee Braze."
"I love you more. I love all of our children, but you gave the honor of having hatchlings. We’re the luckiest males that could ever exist just to have you with us."
"And I’m the luckiest female."
Outside, it was already night, and the others were still anxious, but when they saw everyone leaving the house, they ran to find out how Astri was.
"She’s great. It took a long ti for her to start to push, but once it was ti, it was quick. She had Lee’s eggs." Claud tells everyone, making everyone give a huge sigh of relief.
"He must be so happy and proud." Otto says, smiling.
"Astri is resting with him. We will make dinner now." Tyr says.
Everyone could now relax, knowing that Astri is fine and the offspring too. Bono is more relaxed and sits next to Ian and Otto.
"When are you planning to send a ssenger to King Freyd?" Otto asks Bono.
"In three days. I think it will be the ti we will be finished with all of our traps and training, so everyone knows what to do when the ti cos." Bono answers.
"Can I ask you sothing? Who are these people for real? None of them looks common. And it’s not only because of their kind." Ian asks.
"If it wasn’t because of them, and especially Astri, we wouldn’t have any hope of defeating King Freyd and surviving. They ca from another continent just to help us." Otto answers.
"What do you an?"
"Tomorrow we will tell you about everything, but for now, just think that we have powerful allies, and that you can trust us. It’s not up to us to tell you who they really are. Now, let show exactly how we are planning our attack to defeat King Freyd."
