Chapter 96: Chapter 92 A Gift from a Friend

Ye Ranran couldn’t believe what she was seeing.

Who could tell her why Qiao Sang was on Huangming Mountain?!

And, the one that had just taken down the Thunderclaw Bird looked unmistakably like Qiao Sang’s Fire-Toothed Dog!

The scene before her was so shocking that she was stunned and frozen on the spot.

The middle-aged woman who had co with her hurried to Qiao Sang’s side after dismounting from the wind sculpture and asked, “Kid, was it you who called the police?”

At that mont, Qiao Sang was still imrsed in the euphoria of the Fire-Toothed Dog snatching a kill and was startled when she heard soone speaking.

...

She turned her head and saw a middle-sized, slightly overweight female police officer in uniform.

“It was !” Qiao Sang replied.

She hadn’t expected that even though the call had been cut off halfway and she hadn’t finished speaking, soone had still arrived – sothing that would never have happened with the efficiency in her past life.

The middle-aged woman was relieved to see that the girl who had called the police was unhard.

“Fang!”

That’s when the Fire-Toothed Dog ran to Qiao Sang’s side, warily eyeing the newcor.

“Where is Zhou Xian?” the middle-aged woman asked, glancing at the Fire-Toothed Dog.

She used her years of experience to quickly make an analysis.

The Thunderclaw Bird had fainted, there was another lump of sothing black and unidentifiable on the ground that seed to be a pet beast, plus a Fire-Toothed Dog that didn’t belong in this level of combat.

There must be another Beast Tar on the mountain capable of confronting Zhou Xian, surely of no low rank.

The black, charcoal-like pet beast on the ground must belong to that Beast Tar, but there was no sign of them, implying they were sowhere on the mountain fighting with Zhou Xian.

She needed to hurry to help.

Maybe they wouldn’t need to wait for backup; they might be able to apprehend Zhou Xian themselves.

Qiao Sang pointed to an area on the grass behind her and said, “Over there.”

The Fire-Toothed Dog relaxed its vigilance as it watched its Beast Tar interacting with the newcor.

The middle-aged woman was taken aback, but then imdiately beca alert and looked behind her.

When she saw the man lying on the ground with two bumps on his head and his hands tied, his eyes closed, she was stunned for a mont.

Is this Zhou Xian?!

The middle-aged woman took a deep breath and quickly stepped forward, crouching down to take a closer look.

Although the man lying there looked quite pitiful at the mont, she recognized him imdiately by his handso face, which was rarely seen on normal days.

It really was Zhou Xian!

A shock ran through the middle-aged woman’s heart.

Why was he unconscious? What were those two bumps on his head? And… why did the thing tying his hands look so much like shoelaces!

On her way there, she had imagined nurous scenes she might encounter, but never this one!

Just then, Ye Ranran ca over with a peculiar expression and asked Qiao Sang, “Ah Sang, how co you’re on this mountain, did you encounter anyone? And your Fire-Toothed Dog, how did it end up fighting the Thunderclaw Bird?”

Qiao Sang turned her head and was montarily stunned, then said with surprise, “Ranran, you’re here too.”

There were too many questions, and Qiao Sang didn’t know which one to answer first, but answering these wasn’t the most important thing at the mont.

“I’ll tell you about it later,” Qiao Sang said, then looked down at the Stone Helt Spirit.

The most important thing was that there was still a kill to be claid!

“Stone Helt.”

The Stone Helt Spirit called out weakly.

It regretted imnsely as it watched the Thunderclaw Bird collapse.

How did things turn out like this, why had they fought among themselves in the first place?

That’s right.

It was all because of this human.

All because of this detestable human!

The Stone Helt Spirit glared at Qiao Sang with hatred and then passed out with a heart attack.

As its consciousness faded, it vaguely felt soone sadly calling out its na.

Master…

“Stone Helt Spirit!” Qiao Sang cried out in anguish.

Her points!

Ye Ranran, standing to the side, was stunned for a long mont. Stone Helt Spirit? The pet beast of Zhou Xian’s from the records? That charcoal-like one?!

“Ah Sang, what on earth is going on here?” Ye Ranran asked with a bewildered expression.

The middle-aged woman overheard this and glanced over.

Although she was surprised that Ye Ranran knew this girl, it was clear that now was not the ti to care about these minor issues.

The middle-aged woman stared intently at Qiao Sang, waiting for her answer as well.

Qiao Sang had just recovered from the grief of the Stone Helt Spirit fainting before it could earn her points from its kill.

She began recounting the events, as there was really nothing to hide about the whole situation.

By the ti the other police officers arrived, what they saw were their departnt’s beauty and the older generation’s darling standing with mouths agape like fools.

The arrest of the Silver-Tailed Sea Serpent was surprisingly easy; when a group found it, it was sleeping and snoring just like its owner.

“Ah Sang, you’ll have to co to the police station to make a statent,” Ye Ranran said with a smile, “Your luck is really unmatched. You should talk about this at ho later; it’ll scare them to death for sure.”

Qiao Sang nodded. Making a statent wasn’t new to her.

“I need to stop by my house first, my bag is still there,” said Qiao Sang.

“Why do you need your bag? It’s just a statent, and after that, I’ll take you ho,” Ye Ranran patted Qiao Sang’s shoulder, smiling.

Qiao Sang fell silent for a mont before saying earnestly, “I haven’t morized my account number; my bank card is in that bag.”

“What do you need your bank card for?” asked Ye Ranran, curious.

Qiao Sang just looked at her quietly.

At that mont, silence was louder than words.

A mont later.

Ye Ranran: “!!!”

It finally dawned on her, and she stared at Qiao Sang in shock, struggling to speak.

Holy shit, her cousin who had just finished middle school was about to beco a millionaire?!

When it was ti to leave Huangming Mountain, Qiao Sang suddenly asked the still daydreaming Ye Ranran, “Do you have anything to eat with you?”

Ye Ranran, still in a daze, replied, “Eat what? What to eat? Any food?”

Qiao Sang: “…”

“Do you have any food with you?” Qiao Sang asked again.

“I’m dieting, I don’t carry food.” Ye Ranran paused after replying, “Mainly because I’m broke.”

Qiao Sang: “…”

She had wanted to give the Magnetic Ferocious Mice sothing to eat as a farewell gesture before she left, but the food she could feed them was all inside the Treasure-seeking Ghost’s ring.

With the Treasure-seeking Ghost in its current state, it likely couldn’t hear her, and she’d need to take Xiao Xunbao to the Beast Taming Center for a checkup after descending the mountain.

Qiao Sang looked around but didn’t see the Magnetic Ferocious Mouse mother and child, who had always been there.

“Grr!” At that mont, the Fire-Toothed Dog barked towards a certain spot.

Following the direction, Qiao Sang saw two yellow heads, one large and one small, peeking out from a clump of grass and looking her way.

As soon as Qiao Sang turned to look, the two Magnetic Ferocious Mice smiled amicably, and then a small yellow paw pushed a green fruit out of the grass.

It was a Vigor Fruit.

Qiao Sang paused, then stepped forward to pick up the Vigor Fruit.

She parted the grass, but the Magnetic Ferocious Mice that should have been there were now gone without a trace.

Qiao Sang held the Vigor Fruit and zoned out.

That’s when Ye Ranran ca over, surprised, “Is that what you just picked up from the ground? I rember the Vigor Fruit tree is quite far from here, right?”

Qiao Sang ca back to her senses and smiled, “No, it’s a gift from a friend.”
