Chapter 813: Chapter 713: The Bazhi Mountain Range (Third additional chapter for the alliance leader Snow Moon Flower!)

The next day.

During the break of the second class, Qiao Sang had Xiao Xunbao transfer her straight to the entrance of Research Base Seven.

The research bases of Yuliandun University were off-limits to unauthorized personnel, and it was also forbidden for Pet Beasts to use skills or traits to enter.

If soone entered without scanning their card, an alarm would imdiately be triggered inside and the person caught would be disciplined.

It was one of the stricter rules within the university.

Qiao Sang handed her student ID card to the chanical Beast before her.

The chanical Beast scanned it with its eyes and swiftly allowed her passage.

Qiao Sang, carrying Yaobao, walked into the research center.

Dr. Doralisha was feeding a Grass-type Pet Beast, roughly 30 centiters in size with two green leaves on its head, from a glass tube filled with purple liquid.

The Pet Beast with two green leaves on its head cooperated by drinking the liquid and even smacked its lips.

“That’s good,” Dr. Doralisha checked the chanical clock on the wall and said, “Co find

again in two hours.”

“Dada.”

The Grass-type Pet Beast with the green leaves nodded and promptly walked towards the care area.

“You’re here,” said Dr. Doralisha, looking towards Qiao Sang and greeting her.

Qiao Sang responded with a hum, curiously asking, “What was it just drinking?”

“That’s a Dada Grass with emotional indifference disorder,” explained Dr. Doralisha. “The potion I gave it can slightly activate its emotional perception.”

After explaining, she rembered Qiao Sang’s Bingke Xilu and laughed, saying,

“The Healing Light of Bingke Xilu can only cure physical states. It can’t heal conditions like the Dada Grass’s; we have to take things slowly, step by step.”

She had learned sothing new; Pet Beasts could also have emotional indifference disorder… Qiao Sang rembered the purpose of her visit and went straight to the point:

“Yesterday, my Bingke Xilu absorbed two waves of desperate Emotional Energy. Will this emotional influence have a ti limit?”

Dr. Doralisha answered,

“That depends on how Bingke Xilu itself digests emotions. The temperants of Pet Beasts are diverse; so are easily influenced and then get stuck in a rut. Others are rather heartless and the effects can dissipate within minutes.”

The latter… that sounded like Xiao Xunbao… As Qiao Sang thought of another matter, she said,

“I have an elder who ntioned a Pet Beast on our Blue Star called Gis Egg, capable of amplifying emotions to the greatest degree. Could this be related to the frequency vibrations of Emotional Energy?”

Dr. Doralisha paused, then her eyes brightened considerably. “Are you sure it amplifies emotions to the greatest degree?”

“Yes,” Qiao Sang nodded.

Dr. Doralisha was visibly excited:

“If it really amplifies to the greatest degree, that would be trendously helpful for our research!”

She began to enthusiastically explain:

“Actually, there are many Pet Beasts that can affect one’s emotions. Here on Chao Su Star, we commonly see the Swift Butterfly. I have experinted with many of these emotional-influencing Pet Beasts, but found they affect the dopamine levels in the brain, not directly controlling the vibrations of Emotional Energy frequencies.”

“Later, we figured it must be that the Emotional Energy impact wasn’t strong enough, so we’ve been searching for Pet Beasts with Emotional Traits at S-rank. Unfortunately, such creatures are too hard to find.”

“If what you say is true, then Gis Egg might be able to replace an S-rank Emotional Trait Pet Beast and assist in our research!”

“I’ll go file a request report right now! To have Gis Egg transported here from Blue Star!”

Having said that, Dr. Doralisha eagerly turned and left in haste.

Ah, I haven’t ntioned yet that Gis Egg is monopolized… Qiao Sang opened her mouth but then paused.

At that mont, the bell rang for class.

Never mind, a family monopoly and endangered Pet Beasts are different matters; as long as one is willing to pay the price, they would likely agree.

Qiao Sang looked towards a spot of thin air.

“Xun Xun~”

Xiao Xunbao appeared, its eyes shining with blue light.

The next second, Qiao Sang vanished from the spot.

The ntality of the students at Yuliandun University was too stable.

After searching for a whole day, she only managed to find one in the restroom.

In the evening, Qiao Sang returned ho.

“Xun Xun!”

Xiao Xunbao, seeing the computer on the coffee table in the living room, lit up with excitent and inadvertently floated towards it.

Qiao Sang coughed.

“Xun Xun…”

Instantly, Xiao Xunbao stiffened, turning its head back with a pitiful look.

Qiao Sang coldly and rcilessly refused:

“No playing.”

She had read the “Beast Taming Codex” before bed last night and saw that Xiao Xunbao’s substitute had already trained to the Pinnacle of Profound aning.

Continuing such training now would be of no use.

“Xun Xun…”

Xiao Xunbao instantly beca emo.

“Ya Ya.”

Yaobao comforted it, indicating that computers were boring and training with it would be better.

“Xun Xun…”

Xiao Xunbao turned to Yaobao with a “you don’t understand anything” look.

Qiao Sang unconsciously glanced at the Shadow, which showed no reaction.

It seed that Xiao Xunbao had lost all hope of playing with the computer…

What a pity… Qiao Sang felt a sense of regret for so reason.

After dinner and once the Body Tempering Worm service visit was over, Qiao Sang cleaned up a bit and then took Lubao to the Nine Realms amusent park.

“Gan Gan!”

As soon as they arrived at the water-based aerial combat zone, the Shadow, which had been quiet, suddenly sniffed and showed a “revived” expression.

“Ya Ya!”

The Yaobao in her arms already had the experience of translating for their Beast Tar and did so automatically without needing any prompt.

So much despairing Emotional Energy!

Lubao, still affected by the lingering despair, showed a subdued mood and didn’t react much.

This is an amusent park, isn’t it? Why would people here feel despair? Qiao Sang was puzzled for a mont but soon identified the familiar-looking people the Shadow had set its sight on.

Soon, she rembered where she had seen these people before.

Goodness, weren’t they the tourists who had been queuing to play the water-based aerial combat ga not long ago?

Seeing them occasionally glance at her and Lubao, Qiao Sang instantly understood why they were in despair.

She hadn’t expected this kind of windfall… Qiao Sang suppressed her smile and nodded to the Shadow.

“Gan Gan.”

The Shadow, quick to comprehend, took the nod as its cue, although these humans weren’t its Beast Tar, and it beca invisible.

When the Shadow altered the targets’ emotions, it would show a white mist, which shouldn’t be too conspicuous at night, but it was still better not to do so in plain view… Qiao Sang turned her attention to the quiet Lubao.

Hoping the collection would happen faster, she would rather not see Lubao continually shrouded in despair, but it hadn’t yet t the standards for Evolution.

Better a short pain than a long one…

Two hours later, Lubao kept winning first place, but its mood beca increasingly depressed.

The following day.

Eight-thirty in the morning.

Qiao Sang, with Lubao in her backpack and holding Yaobao, arrived next to one of Yuliandun University’s iconic Pet Beast statues.

Three minutes later, Charles and a brown-haired girl walked over side by side.

Both had enormous backpacks that looked to have vast capacity.

“Gan Gan…”

The Shadow, seeing its Beast Tar, instinctively wanted to drift over, but then rembered its mission and held back, making no move.

“Let

introduce you, this is Karo from the Breeding Departnt,” Charles said with a smile.

“Hello,” Karo offered her hand.

“Hello,” Qiao Sang greeted, shaking hands.

“This is Qiao Sang from the Beast Taming Departnt,” Charles added.

Karo glanced at Yaobao and said,

“I’ve heard of you, you bred two General-level Pet Beasts while just a freshman.”

Am I really that famous already? Qiao Sang felt pleased but then suddenly thought of sothing and asked,

“Is it just the three of us?”

“Just us three,” Charles replied while checking his wristwatch, “It’s getting late, we should set out now.”

“Where is our destination?” Qiao Sang inquired.

Charles revealed a smile, “The Ba Zhi Mountain Range.”

The Ba Zhi Mountain Range? Qiao Sang had no reaction.

She wasn’t familiar with Chao Su Star; her knowledge from recent studies was at best about the differences between the Upper, Middle, and Lower Districts, as well as so basic information on the local Pet Beasts.

Charles, not considering the possibility of Qiao Sang’s “ignorance,” was secretly impressed when she showed no change of expression upon hearing “Ba Zhi Mountain Range.”

True to the unrivaled prodigious reputation in the Beast Taming Departnt, she remained so composed even when told they were heading to the habitat of the Emperor-level Wild Terrestrial Twin Dragons.
