Chapter 806: Chapter 707: Sensing Ghosts
Dr. Doralisha was montarily startled before she replied,
“Basically, it ranges from 150,000 to 200,000 Alliance Currency per month, depending largely on the research institute you join. As long as you have the status of a Primary Researcher, the lowest salary you can get is 150,000 Alliance Currency per month.”
At this point, she paused briefly before adding,
“However, these figures relate to Chao Su Star. I’m not so familiar with the situation on Blue Star.”
Calculating at the lowest rate of 150,000 per month, that added up to 1.8 million per year. Even if the Unlimited Card were to expire, it would still be sufficient to sustain Gangbao at its current stage… Qiao Sang no longer hesitated and said firmly, “I am willing to participate in this research.”
“Great!” A smile uncontrollably blood on Dr. Doralisha’s face.
With Bingke Xilu’s Beast Tar joining the research, it was as good as having Bingke Xilu itself involved.
In the ti that followed, Dr. Doralisha began to introduce Qiao Sang to the layout of the research institute:
“We mainly have five areas here.”
“The Experintal Area, where we usually conduct our research… The Supervision Area, where the Pet Beasts that aid in research mainly move around. Most of them are Wild Pet Beasts, and a few are managed by Beast Tars, but only a small portion…”
“The Archive Room, which contains almost all docunts related to Pet Beast Emotional Energy. You can co here anyti you want to read; I’ve already granted you access…”
“Then there’s the Warehouse, which houses items you perhaps won’t recognize. It’s best not to enter for now; wait until you’ve learned more…”
“And lastly, the Recreation Area.” Dr. Doralisha stopped at the original spot where they had first sat and talked. “Alright, summon your Bingke Xilu now so I can assess its condition.”
Assess the condition? Qiao Sang’s eyes lit up, and he imdiately made a Seal Gesture.
An orange-yellow Star Array lit up, and soon Lubao appeared within it.
Orange-yellow… Dr. Doralisha’s pupils slightly constricted.
Her focus had been entirely on Bingke Xilu the day before; she hadn’t noticed the color of the Star Array.
Despite having read the docunts and prepared ntally, the thought of a 16-year-old whose brain region had reached such levels still struck her deeply upon seeing it for herself.
Leaving aside combat abilities, with such innate talent in beast taming, it was no wonder the Beast Mastery Academy people had co to her…
“Bingke.”
Lubao sat quietly, looking at the human in front of it, not showing the impatience it had the day before.
“May I touch you?” Dr. Doralisha asked, a gentle smile gracing her face.
Being an expert in Pet Beast Emotional Energy, she was sensitive to the emotions of pet beasts and knew that Bingke Xilu currently held no repellent feelings towards her.
“Bingke.”
Lubao glanced at her hand and uttered a sound.
This surely ant it had understood the previous conversation and realized Dr. Doralisha might help it evolve… Qiao Sang translated, “It says you can.”
Upon hearing this, Dr. Doralisha’s smile grew wider.
She squatted down and started to stroke Bingke Xilu while observing it.
Lubao cooperated throughout.
You’ve sacrificed so much for evolution… Although it was just a few strokes, Qiao Sang inexplicably felt like Lubao was compromising for the sake of evolving.
After about ten seconds or so, Dr. Doralisha stood up and said,
“Your Bingke Xilu belongs to the more reserved, tranquil type. It might be a bit difficult for it to experience despair.”
Damn, no wonder she’s an expert! Just a few touches and she understood so much… Qiao Sang was extrely impressed internally and asked,
“So, what should we do?”
“Bingke…”
Lubao’s tail tensed involuntarily as it looked at the human who had just touched it, its expression becoming slightly tense.
Dr. Doralisha said with a smile,
“This isn’t a very serious issue. There are many ways to induce a sense of despair in a Pet Beast. First, we need to understand what it cares about the most.”
Qiao Sang thought for a mont and said, “What it cares about most right now is probably when it can evolve.”
“Bingke.”
Lubao nodded, indeed affirming that.
“Then let it understand that it can’t evolve,” Dorarisha said.
Lubao was stunned on the spot.
Qiao Sang glanced at Lubao and lowered his voice to ask, “It heard our conversation, so it shouldn’t feel despair, right?”
“No.” Dorarisha smiled, “Don’t forget, for Bingke Xilu to evolve, besides accumulating energy and feeling despair, it also needs to be in a dust storm.”
“As long as you keep it out of dust storms, no matter how desperate it is, it can’t evolve.”
“Bingke—”
Lubao had a hard ti digesting this information.
What does that an?
Not letting their Beast Tar seek out Pet Beasts with dust storm skills?
What if it finally feels despair halfway?
Thinking this, Lubao couldn’t help but grow agitated.
Dorarisha had been paying close attention to Bingke Xilu’s state and, seeing this, she smiled and said,
“It seems your Bingke Xilu really does care about evolving. I just ntioned it, and it seems its emotions have shifted.”
“For the sake of evolution, it has been behaving and letting you touch it for a long while; of course, it cares…” Qiao Sang thought to himself and sighed,
“Recently, my other Pet Beasts have evolved one after another, so it wants to evolve as soon as possible too.”
“Bingke—”
Hearing his Beast Tar’s words, Lubao gave a “Is it that obvious?” look.
Seeing Bingke Xilu’s reaction, Dorarisha suddenly added to a previous question:
“You do have a point. Now that Bingke Xilu has heard our conversation, if it doesn’t evolve for a long ti, it might just bla
for this idea.”
“Bingke.”
Lubao looked towards the so-called expert in Emotional Energy.
Good to know.
Dorarisha continued,
“Pet Beasts wanting to rely on Emotional Energy for evolution isn’t just about feeling certain emotions but also about those emotions reaching a certain vibration frequency. In my opinion, your Bingke Xilu might feel despair due to not being able to evolve, but the vibration frequency of that despair absolutely won’t reach the level needed for it to evolve into a General-level Pet Beast.”
Feeling despair isn’t difficult, but to despair to the extent required for evolution is quite hard.
If not evolving doesn’t make Lubao despair to that extent, then she really couldn’t think of anything else that would make it despair… Qiao Sang and Lubao exchanged a glance of mutual despair.
When Dorarisha saw Qiao Sang had gotten disheartened by her words, she said softly,
“Your Bingke Xilu’s energy inside its body should have reached the level necessary for evolution; the matter of despair isn’t urgent, especially since there isn’t a dust storm environnt right now.”
Saying this, she pondered for a mont and asked,
“Do you know of a Pet Beast called Gan-ling?”
Qiao Sang nodded, “It’s a high-level Spectral-type Pet from Chao Su Star, known to swap emotions between individuals.”
“Exactly.” Dorarisha confird with an affirmation and continued,
“The despair emotion that your Bingke Xilu wants to generate for evolution must be produced by itself, as this is what can mobilize the energy inside and generate resonance.”
“Gan-ling has a Trait called Emotion Exchange, which allows swapping of emotions between two targets for a certain ti, leaving both with an emotional residue.”
“That ans, once the ti is up and the emotions are swapped back, your Bingke Xilu could also generate the emotions it originally didn’t have from the other’s feelings.”
“I suggest you find a Gan-ling and then find so targets currently in deep despair and swap them with Bingke Xilu to see if the despair emotions can accumulate slowly.”
“Bingke…” Lubao tried hard to grasp the aning of these words.
Qiao Sang’s eyes lit up and he asked,
“Teacher, do you know who has a Gan-ling in our school?”
Dorarisha already had a person in mind,
“Charles Koppola from the fourth year outdoor exploration departnt, he has a Gan-ling.”
